You know what I really hate about CC Weapons? No new animations. it looks different but feels like a regular combat rifle. no new sounds either. You want a proper old-fashion rifle? Look no further than the Mosin Nagant on the Nexus.

The "-1" in accuracy is fairly common in some games to be the same as "infinite", imagine the numbers as a combination padlock, (if you go from higher to lower numbers you end up coming back to the same value you started) so, if you go down from the lowest value (1 or 0) the next number is the LARGEST possible number.

the dead man's hand is most likely in reference to Fallout new Vegas's dlc: Dead Money. in this dlc there is a named challenge (dead man's hand) in which you collect several playing cards spread throughout the sierra madre. there was also a beard preset called dead man's hand that looks like the unlucky gambler the hand was named after

I love how Oxhorn isn't the more technically inclined about firearms, but he still notices things like the bolt on the wrong side and the cases ejecting out the wrong side.

The carbine looks like some kind of automatic conversion of a Sharps rifle. The rifle looks like a Mosin Nagant with a custom stock.

I think it is kinda funny... I am a left eyed shooter. And because I learned to shoot with right handed weapons I never really noticed that game developers put the bolt on the wrong side. It looks right to me, just in the wrong hands.

About the empty case ejection, the position of bolt handle are mot matter. The only matter is position of the extractor and ejector inside the gun.

The gun looked pretty interesting but reused animations and sounds is incredibly disappointing, especially since the ones it uses were bad in the first place. Bethesda has always been bad at making satisfying guns.

I love this creation and I sent the quantum stag to sanctuary he roams around and gets stuck in houses too.

Seeing that concentrated quantum reminds me that I really would like there to be the diluted forms of consumables from 76 in F4

What’s ironic is that a dead man’s hand is actually a fairly decent hand to have in poker. Not at all the best but definitely good enough to be confident about your bet.

I like it. But I want a full animation replacer for this beauty. It deserves it. A sound overhaul as well. I hope someone finds time to do that even if the CC has a bad reputation.

I purchased this creation for my husband and I, and these are now our new favourite guns! And we both love Mr Quantum Radstag who is happy in his new home at the Abernathy farm.

Still playing fallout 4... much more than 76. So good to see they're still giving stuff for this.

Something I've recently discovered working with firearms is that while disorientating at first, having the bolt on the leftt hand side of the weapon can have advantages outside of the aesthetic realm. One basic and comfortable one is that for a semi automatic rifle, like the combat or manwell, your trigger hand never has to move when reloading. A popular feature with the Israeli Galil. But for a bolt action rifle like the Hunting Rifle I totally agree about the odd reverse for the bolt on THOSE weapons Ox, thanks for the video, fantastic as always!

Someone needs to make a mod that adds quantum radstags from this to nuka world!

I added the Manwell weapons to my minuteman-level list (along with the CR-74L but that's for later) the Manwell set just fits so well for minuteman and makes them stronger without making them a bootleg BOS with laser and plasma weapons

In my Fallout 4 playthrough, I decided to feed it Quantum. Then I sent him to Abernathy Farm, his new home.

Overall, I liked this creation as well. Nothing spectacular, but a fun way to kill 10 minutes of playtime. Would've been nice to be able to recruit the stag as follower, but having him as a settlement pet is good too. For me, one of the things I liked most about the quest is that it took place on a part of the map mostly ignored by Creation Club quests. Being able to stalk through the hills of the northern woods was refreshing.

They really outdid themselves with that rifle design and the epic mission chain(I mean an quantum stag, just brilliant!). I especially like, that they copied the Combat Rifles sound and basic upgrades/modifications, shows the quality, effort and ingenuity used to create this wonderful "Mini-DLC"(quality control is paramount at Bethesda). This really is a must have item for the price(so worth it!). Thank God, Bethesda went along and implemented the "Creation Club". It has brought so much joy and value to the Fallout 4 universe!(brain explodes!) *Thank you for showing and informing us about this item/mission Oxhorn.

Just have to add. The charging handle can be on the left and eject rounds out the right. It’s not impossible depending on the weapon of course

The house where this quest begins usually has a random encounter (super mutants, raiders, etc.). Don't be surprised if you have to fight someone or something before you start the quest.

You can rotate the camera holding a weapon, hold F (button to switch 1st and 3rd person), and rotate the camera with a mouse...

The suppressed barrel of the Rifle is based off the de Lisle carbine, a ww2 rifle which fired at only 70-80 decibels (regular gunshots reach 140 decibels)

Double lucky legendary - both the normal Lucky that does faster and better crits and the other Lucky that we see on the Far Harbor end game rifle where the gun gives you +2 Luck. For a Luck based crit-sniper build this could be a great gun (that you can get very early in the game). Considering that Luck armor doesn't split bonuses, you can get +10 rather than +5/+5 to two stats. There is also a ballistic armor Luck hat. 24+ luck is going to have you building a crit in two shots - and with full crit perks you will pretty much never run out of never miss head shots.

The side that the charging handle is on does not matter when the round is ejected. The ejector positioning in the firing mechanism is what matters as far as which direction the spent round ejects.

The bolt handle being on the left side isnt inherently a problem; theoretically, the reciever could be open on both sides. Pull the bolt back on one side, both sides are left open. This would allow for bullets to eject out the right side despite the bolt handle being on the left.

One slight complaint about this guys hunting skills is that when hunting, you shoot for the heart not the head because if you taxidermize it will have a ruined head

The manwell rifle is Gun enthusiasm friendly. Long barrel = Rifle Short barrel = Carbine Most game didn't care about such detail. It's nice to see it here.

This weapon makes so much sense for a minuteman playthrough, and I’d for sure buy a few copies of it from merchants to outfit my settlers at my minutemen outposts and the castle

Dear Oxhorn, I noted your left handed receiver shell ejection issue, like most rifles of its nature such as the Springfield 1903, the bolt can eject in various directions depending on the preference of the weapon smith. With the Manwell Rifle likely copies the 1903's style of vertical ejection which, if we give the Creation Club maker a bit of slack, could be explained away by wind moving the shell casing. In game however, it does quite clearly move to the right for no real reason. - Love the Videos keep "fighting the good fight"

Did anyone else notice that the Manwell rifle has the same animation as the automatic rifle you get in Nuka world

Yes it's worth it. The regular rifle at high levels and appropriate perks (lone wanderer, and higher gun nut perks), you can make yourself an automatic rifle that hits with 310 DMG every bullet (pretty good for an automatic rifle) as opposed to the carbine's 248 DMG (I think). Different sound effects would require a heavier, bigger, chambering like a .270 Mag, .300 Mag, .338 Mag, .357H&H Mag, .405 Mag, .458 Mag.

I think Wardaddy is gonna have some fun making some custom animations for this.

And one more thing oxhorn there are how many combat rifles that do have the charging handle on the left side and still eject out the right side and there are many rifles out there that do have the ability to change the charging handle to whichever side you want it to be on so again a charging handle for a bolt for any kind of semi-automatic rifle except for the AR of course can have a charging handle on the left side of gun and still eject out the right side without the bullet having to pass through the receiver

i tried this yesterday and it was meh for me. rifles look pretty decent but basically they are re skinned combat rifles using .308. the concentrated quantum should have been craftable. i tried both endings and keeping the stag seemed like the right one for me. A for effort but C for execution

$4 for a rifle! That's just overpriced seeing as some of the DLC packs were only $7. Maybe in a few months when it is 50% off & they have fixed the graphical glitches. 🤔

Um it's not based off the gun that you said it was but it is President Theodore Roosevelt's Winchester Model 1895 rifle. This was one of the weapons he used to hunt with, they look very similar, atleast to me the lever actions and the magazines and trigger guard look very similar! Very cool weapon with a very cool back story IRL and in game!

They made them left handed because Bethesda doesn’t know anything about guns.

This was one of the handful of mods on the Creation Club that I considered worth picking up, and I must say that I’m impressed...although I’ve found the rifle and carbine to both be less accurate than one might think. That said, there’s one more selling point to this mod that was overlooked: the Manwell Rifle’s suppressed barrel requires NO perks to craft, at all, on thop of it using relatively plentiful ammunition AND being semi-auto by default, and the quest is pretty easy (being right up at the north of the map, and if you’re sneaky you can grab the Rifle without ever having to kill anything). Once you have the materials, which you can get by scrapping stuff in Sanctuary and perhaps grabbing some stuff lying around Concord, you can have a suppressed sniper rifle theoretically by the time you hit level 2 or 3, and a very good one at that. This makes early game stealth a LOT more bearable than it would be otherwise.

For anyone who's curious: As of today (October 2nd 2021) Bethesda and/or the mod creators STILL haven't fixed the iron sights issue for the Suppressed barrel on the Rifle. And from my personal experiences with the gun, it seems that this misalignment even carries over to the magnified optics too! (The scopes you gotta zoom in to use) However, take that last bit with a grain of salt, there's still the very real possibility that i'm just bad with scoped guns, but that's just my reaction from using it in regular combat at a range, it seems that sometimes, even when i've got the reticle dead center on some poor sap's head, i miss. But again, that's just me, your mileage may vary.

Oxhorn, For Fallout 4 setting things to -1 makes it infinite, that rifle has an infinite range. That means you can shoot anyone from anywhere.

I saw DiscoGnome show off the Wildey magnum similar to the gun from Death Wish 3.

I just bought this CC item and a few others last night and I've been using the rifles on my minutemen character. I must say that I love these guns!

21:06 Please note that guns with right side ejecting with the charging handle being on the left side do exist like the IWI ACE Assault Rifle which has the charging handle on the leftside but ejects rounds on the right side

I love guns! Especially vintage guns. They go well with vintage liquor and good cigars although I'm more of a pipe tobacco guy unless the cigar has cognac to go with it.

I think the left hand charging handle/bolt might be a nod to twenty-first-century Gunsmithing. There are a lot of modern Firearms these days I charge from the left hand instead of the right. Reason being is that in the 20th century, soldiers were used to charging with the right-hand because they were used to bolt action weapons. These days it's more tactical to have a left-handed charging handle while holding your gun on target.
