The 10 to midnight slot on Radio 1 was the best entertainment I had through the 90s. I listened religiously for years and it was like being down the pub with mates. The banter was hilarious and I preferred listening to the chat more than the songs! Best memory was Lard losing it laughing over a photography book of a scummy family until both presenters were in stitches. I miss that Radio show big time.
I fondly remember that Mark Kermode asked for suggestions for Cult Film Corner (to follow on from films like 'The Exorcist' or 'The Wizard of Oz'), and Lard requested 'Mutiny on the Buses.'
Late night was brilliant remember driving back from away games watching the cobblers laughing so much, also great on the afternoon show. The rubbish on radio one now is utter crap.
The Afternoon show was brilliant but yeah their Breakfast show wasnt much to shout about. Mind you anything was betger than Chris 'fat boy lardy arse' Moyles
@@richardp1156 I think the daytime shows were aimed at the uni to white van man demographics. The Graveyard Shift stuff was typically darker and less cock n balls, if my memory serves me correct. Imo, they covered the whole spectrum of comedy, and did it well. I miss them, a lot.
