@@ErnestoMike It's not that he looks horrible, in my opinion, but that he is sitting next to Omar who looks like he stopped aging after 2005 or so. Cedric is a 48 year old man, and I find that's what he looks like. His beard has grayed and he has some sun damage on his cheeks and around his eyes. That's it, really. Things also haven't been easy for Cedric and his family over the last 5 or so years. Stress has an immense toll on your body. If he does look horrible, which I don't think he does... it would be understandable.

all it is seriously, is being skinny. when you are overweight, which most older people are with their dad bods, that puts a serious toll on your organs and over time you start to look older. skinnier people just look younger. You can't be that skinny and also drink alcohol or eat bad food - so Omar just lives a very healthy life and it shows.

This is so cool. Love this band so much. I saw TMV last night in Oklahoma City, fourth time I’ve seen them (2004, 2008, 2009). Last night’s show was the best I’ve heard them sound 🔥✊🏾

the concept of burnout as an artist is put on such a poignant display from the exchange at 43:30 is one of the most important things to be aware of if you're going to make music for life.

I still after atleast 400 listens to Blacklight Shine, I do not have to properly react to it. Sometimes I dance to it, some times I feel heartbroken, sometimes I'm dancing while crying.

Saw them being compared to Thom Yorke and Radiohead twice now. Fair enough in termos of artistic relevance and this last album made me feel it so vividly.

Cedric & Omar's music and interviews have done more for me than any therapy or medicine I've ever used. I struggle with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, and that leads to a lot of guilt, shame & self hatred. Omar has always had a way of tapping into the subconcious and tapping into new ways of thinking and I am grateful to be able to heal through his music 🫶🙏

I always loved the Mars Volta lyrics and AtDI before that. The poetic feel they always have. "Starting with gibberish and then putting words to it" (17:12) answered, at least in part, how the lyrics come about and sound so weird and enlightening at the same time. Thanks for taking up Mars Volta again!

Yeah definitely. I saw them on both on the reunion tour and on the new album tour and tbh, the shows on the new lineup were as good without Jim imo. Because even on the reunion your, Jim wasn’t really there, you could tell he was only there up close a chapter.
