I always wanted Age Of Apoc. They set it up perfectly. Then they didn't do it and instead made the worst movie of the bunch. You don't want Avengers vs Xmen.

Anyone saying this is the worst MCU movie has not watch a lot of MCU movies. I present Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and whatever the hell the disaster that the last Antman movie was as examples of alternative worst MCU movies.

Couple things 1. Monica isn’t too old to be bitter about Carol leaving, she may only be her aunt but she did raise her literally from birth, imagine how pissed you’d be if one of your parents of their own choice left you without explanation, that’d be upsetting at any age. 2. It’s not that Carol can’t beat Darr-Ben it’s just that when they fight, her powers get temporarily drained not to mention the random switching with Monica and Kamala. Otherwise thanks for the review!

I actually really enjoyed The Marvels, borderline loved it. It was the most fun I've had with a Marvel project in a while. It was like Thor Ragnorak but in the best ways.

For me, the worst parts of the movie was the pacing. Nothing that could have made an impact, was given time to breathe. The main villains power was her luck. Otherwise she was fodder for all 3 Ladies. By themselves. This would have been better off as a Loki style show. Let Monica and Carol's strained relationship play out. Let Kamala learn the lesson of "Never meet your heroes" firsthand. Resolve those issues in a fleshed out way and boom.. Cpt. Marvel is rehabilitated and you have 3 characters people will want to see more of. That's overly simplified, of course. I really wanted to like this movie. I mean, I did.. but it was just.. Okay.. Wait to stream it, is my "rating".

My favorite line in the whole movie was Nick Fury saying "oh its cool it's carol." 😂 Too bad for the complete tonal shift in his character post secret invasion 🤢

5:15 I think this was less about not being willing to endanger herself and more about not endangering the people already on the ship - the buildings and mountains are collapsing and rubble could easily crush the ship and leave them ALL dead

It's wild how invested I was in MCU pre-Endgame, and now post-Endgame none of their content is able to do anything for me. I have no emotional investment anymore.

Sadly, a lot of the hate this film is receiving is not because it is good or bad but is residual from Disney's past actions. It might honestly be quite some time before Disney sees the success they previously had.

I knew someone who has a degree in material science and engineering and he had been talking about the ladder to space for a long time and the visual makes it even more surreal

Of course Kamala can quote mcu movies. We know she watched the first Captain Marvel- that's how she was able to build a costume based on a hat Carol used once and never showed anyone.

They should team up Kamala Khan with Spiderman, the kid is obviously trying her little heart out and would make a great plucky sidekick to Tom Holland.

I honestly didn’t think the movie was that bad. I honestly enjoyed the story and had fun. Kamala was the MVP and man, it was just a good movie. It’s not perfect and it’s not terrible, it’s just good. And the fighting was very well choreographed. Also, I really liked seeing Carol having more of a personality this time around.

This film really occurred to me why it was that Barbie did as well as it did. Not just for the meme, but I think it was refreshing to get something that embraced it's feminity front and center and knew what it was compared to another Marvel Product trying desperately to mix many things in the hopes it'll formulate something. Works on some people, but looks like it's not appealing right now for one reason or another. I bet if it played again right now, it still would have sold better than "The Marvels".

The RU-vid reviews really discouraged me and ruined the hype I had for months for this movie. Decided to watch it anyway and I do not regret listening to my gut. I enjoyed the movie, I was cracking up half the time. This movie actually made me get re-excited about the MCU. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

This movie was so much fun. I wish people would stop expecting MCU movies to all be like Endgame or No Way Home. Not every MCU movie has to be on that level and it’s okay. Sometimes people just want to enjoy a fun movie and not have to think so hard about.

I would definitely consider myself more conservative but I actually thought this movie was pretty good and have no idea what the people who are calling it liberal propaganda are smoking. Edit: I also liked Carol a lot better in this one compared to the first one. Although I think Kamela was by far the best character and had the best actress of the 3

Honestly, I really enjoyed The Marvels. Kamala was a joy to watch. And the choreography was fantastic. I think my main issue with the film is that it's a bit too short. Nia said that was intentional, but it feels a little too breezy. The film could use longer emotional beats.

I too actually watched this just a couple of hours ago🤣 The dude that's with Darr-Benn does make it clear from the beginning that if she ever puts on both quantum bands she'll likely die as a result😂 but this movie was like watching a trainwreck happening irl. Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and her family saved this picture from being worse than Quantumania tbh😅

I enjoyed this movie, it wasn't so terrible like people kept saying. Kamala was my favorite part, I might watched Ms. Marvel on Disney plus now after watching her on this movie.

Secret Invasion obviously takes place after this film, idk why everyone is so confused about that.

I enjoyed the movie both times that I've seen it so far. I've said before in another video comment, it's a pattern that reviewers whom usually notice the most obscure minutia suddenly can't remember things already explained explicitly in the dialogue of the movie like Carol's power being siphoned by Darr-Ben's quantum band when Carol uses it against her, the switching works only when two or more of them use powers at the same time, Darr-Ben specifically targeting the planets that are important to Carol to steal resources from, etc. I watch reviews because I want to see good faith analysis and constructive criticisms when it's called for, but so many reviewers are just bending over backwards to phrase things to fit their preconceived bias against the film without actually even paying attention even after multiple viewings. This team has excellent chemistry and their interpersonal dynamics are so interesting. Carol takes decisive action. Monica is very analytical, and Kamela is a combo of the two being both enthusiastic and curious. Carol and Monica finally reunite and they both go from an aunt who is so afraid to disappoint the kid she helped raised and the niece who carried pain from a parental figure who disappeared on her, to both becoming equals who can depend on each other. Monica referring to her aunt Carol as just Carol after they talk things through is such an interesting subtle shift in the dialogue. Carol carrying out Monica's idea to jump start Vala's sun before keeping Monica's home safe until she one day hopefully returns is such a lovely parallel to Monica waiting for Carol and Maria waiting for Monica. Carol and Kamela echo the relationship that Carol had with Monica with Carol as a role model that Kamela looks up to, Kamela finally meets her hero and learns that Carol as awesome as she is, is also a three dimensional person that she may not agree with all the time. Marvel movies often try to be funny, but the comedic beats in The Marvels are actually very funny and moments that showcase their personality and relationship to the people around them. The action scenes are very cool, the switching is very well done, both during the chaotic confusion and after they've trained to become a cohesive unit. The music score is just right. The film would have benefited from having a longer run time to flesh out emotional beats a bit more, but otherwise definitely one of the top MCU films for me.

Honestly I think this is *one of* the best MCU movies since endgame. The writing is a lot better and it genuinely feels like the writers are getting a hold on how to work within this oversaturation problem they have, though I still think itd be better if they just fixed it. Also Kamala stole every scene and I hope her role doesn't flop because her career doesn't deserve that.

This movie was fun. I really enjoyed it. Not sure why the critics are coming for it so hard. I liked it way more than Antman 3 and Thor 4. The fight scenes were awesome and the character's chemistry was great. It's kind of just what I wanted. These are comic book movies! And sure, some of them have been great like Inifinty War and Winter Soldier but they're allowed to just be fun ✨ I'm super excited for the new season of What If.

Whenever they call Carol the annihilator all I can think is that Gumball Pseudo commercial where Anaise has chopping action. *It's the ANNIHILATOR! She can break everything with her tiny hand!*

The only _big_ complaint I had with the movie was the shrill over-abundance of OMG's on Kamala Khan's part. Talk about noise pollution! Do real-world teenage girls _really_ scream it that often?

I loved it when Carol stood there all seriously beautiful at the same time menacing, then said "It's Marvelin time" then closed her hand into a first. Goosebumps! So stunning and brave!

Honestly I had fun. I laughed when a guy behind me mentioned a particular scene was like Space Balls. I'm a sucker for references so things like the "we have our heading" instantly make me happy. It's not a perfect movie but I really enjoyed watching it. I like the ham; the silly song planet with the silly jellyfish hat, and the silly lil kittens eating people as rescue pods, all just a fun little ride. And oh my god that scene of carol just gently floating out the ship with the dazzle of space behind her, that was one of the moments where it was like "yes, this is why i come to the theater." that and seeing the planet the Skrulls were on. Beautiful shots are truly breathtaking on the big screen

Then she sings and then she becomes a princess and then there are lots of kittens and then they switch places and then…. I am convinced that writer guy’s 4 year old daughter did indeed write this script

IF we get an A.vsX. movie, it's going to be just like BatmanvSuperman. Rushed 1st act of them getting on each other's nerves, 10 min tops of fighting, and coming together to fight a "bigger" threat that is not that threatening...

Was not excited for this movie at all, but really want to see some redemption for the MCU. It’s a 7/10 for me. Firstly, I’d have given an extra 30 moody & dark intro of an extremely angry Captain Marvel flying through galaxies, heading with great speed and we’re wondering where she’s going, then we see Hala and the Supreme intelligence as she dispatches some formidable Kree squads of somewhat anonymous Kree in Shadows. It ends with Hala in ruins and then Dar-Ben narrates what came next with artistic exposition. I’d have designed Dar-Ben to have a much more intricate & well designed armor as would her team moving through the story as mysterious figures unrevealed yet. The reveal could come later Aldana as Dar-Ben reveals herself and that she was one of the shadowy Kree guards buried by Carol’s wanton destruction but freed herself and began her mission of vengeance. All in all, it seemed too short, too artificial at times and emotional scenes didn’t land for me. It was still fun and Kamala absolutely stole the show.

Strange how “this movie is so bad” seems to be the internet opinion yet the overwhelming majority of people I meet liked this movie and saw it as a “return to form”. The villain is boring and generic but that’s par for the course with marvel most of the time and it had good humour and some fun scenes. I wasn’t blown away but I wasn’t bored or uninterested either

Watching this in the theater the other night, I definitely got the sense that they cut out 45 minutes in the final edit.

Honestly, I enjoyed the movie. It wasn't even close to a banger, but who expected it to be? It was just okay, like most movies. I think most of the community is hating their experience because of their own expectations in some cases, and this is one of them. The only recent release I genuinely got less than expected from was Quantumania

I quite liked it! I think the camerawork could have been better, they should have centred the fight scenes more, but it was better than the last few MCU movies. I also appreciated that you didn't have to have watched every single thing in order to get it, it was a clumsier version of ITSV's quick rehash of Spiderman's backstory. We've been in this MCU for 20yrs, it should be ok to walk in, watch a cohesive story and then leave imo.

Just imagine the Barbie movie set in the Barbie Universe but with no Barbies, just a bunch of middle-aged flabby Kens uniting to fight another middle-aged flabby Ken villain using a disjointed idiotic story-line, and expecting the Barbie fandom to show up and relate to these Kens. Disney would never be stupid enough to make that movie, but it would make a comparatively similar The Marvels, where neither the Barbie nor the MCU fanbase showed up and was so obvious that neither would ever show up. Just brilliant Disney. I am sure Disney will be doubling down thinking the mass audience will eventually HAVE to come around.

I really enjoyed the movie. It was way funnier than expected and very refreshing. The only thing that really really annoyed me was that all these women are fighting and their hair keep being thrown into their face. TIE UP ALL THEIR HAIR!! ORRRRRRR MAKE IT A POINT WHERE THEY KEEP SPITING HAIR OUT OF THEIR MOUTH AND EYES. But that was the most annoying thing for sure 😂😂😂. Also loobvveeeddd the representation of kamala her family, background and religion. Im not a religious person at all but seeing another regilion than Christianity being reapected felt very refreshing. Also ✨️sinlings relationship✨️ being accurately represented. 🎉🎉

Ever since Disney bought Marvel, Marvel has changed for the bad. I feel like it's all made for kids and not for adults like the original Marvel movies were.

I just don't have excitement for any superhero movies anymore. I am guessing I am jaded. I am in my late 30s, used to love the now cgi cringe spiderman, X-Men and Iron man. I just fell off after the Avengers. If they didn't have dozens of movies and series, I think I would have heard more about this movie. I probably will like it. It is just lost in the sea of Marvel content.

I'm gonna see it with no expectations because I'm tired of the whiny ass MSheU haters. "Wah wah! Captain Marvel is the worst Marvel character ever! Die Brie Larson die!" That's what they sound like to me after all these years! Especially when they actually WANT this movie to suck and bomb at the box office instead of hoping it at least improves some of the things the first movie did like I do. And the way Disney has marketed the last trailer has only fed those five year old trolls. Tho, it sounds hypocritical for me to say considering I wanted The Flash movie to bomb because I didn't want WB to keep that POS even after they reboot the DCEU. But that's the difference. Brie Larson hasn't done anything wrong. Her words were taken out of context and seems to have an awkward personality and I can understand how that can rub people the wrong way. I don't have the mental capacity to explain it further and would rather recommend watching the second part of CinemaWins' Captain Marvel video where he gives the movie fair criticism while also examining why people hate her so much.
