THE MARX BROTHERS in DONKEY SHINES - The lost Marx Brothers Movie.

A LOST MARX BROTHERS MOVIE?!
Not really. This is a project that kept me busy during Covid lock down. The challenge was to find the best and funniest scenes of the later, not-so-good Marx Brothers movies and edit them into one new complete movie with a linear, and hopefully funny and coherent story. Does Love Happy, Room Service, At The Circus, Copacabana and The Big Store give us a happy-happy new Marx Movie? Give it a whirl and see...

Even at their worst, you could never say the Brother’s films were horrible. That’s how you can tell the quality of a troupe, if even their worst is still pretty good.

Grew-up with these boys. To se this for the first time was Fantastic. Like going back in time>1934. The year Hitler became chancellor ! So remarkable. And the clarity of the film was clean-new. Such a shame their sixties TV show fell thru due to Chicos health. (

@johnmacnabb7562 The Austrian Herr Adolf H. became Reichskanzler in 1933. BTW Father MARX came from Germany, like many other good things, such as the ancestors of Elvis Presley, the founders of practically all of the American breweries (including Anheuser-Busch) and ditto of KRAFT KETCHUP, HEINZ KETCHUP, plus - from Frankonia in Bavaria - the maker of the first BLUE JEANS, LEVI (actually LÖB) STRAUSS (actually Strauß).
@peterrraklliproductions2020
I believe “Love Happy” was meant to be a Harpo solo until Chico jumped in to pay off his gambling debt’s, then Groucho had to get involved or the film wouldn’t have been made.
@ALF782

It's the other way around, Chico was the mad gambler and Harpo covered his debts. Certainly confirmed in Groucho's autobiography from the 70s

In spite of most of their later films, I actually find "A Night in Casablanca" to be quite entertaining. Yes several of the gags are regurgitated from earlier films but they do manage to add a little extra something. Example, Chico trying to understand what Harpo is miming, but they take it a step further by running to Groucho and repeating the mimes, to which Groucho looks bewildered before replying, "Alright, I'll take one of those." and walking off.
