Also I gained mad respect for him when he said he was there for his wife with dementia because he thought she would get a kick out of it and would make her smile. Such a sweetheart!
His voice is deeper than it was back in the Pistols' heyday, which likely threw them off. The trilling of his 'R's was always one of his trademarks, along with the raised inflection at the end of lines, but I wonder how many of these "judges" actually knew those things on their own. "I think it's a comedian ... he's faking the accent!" OMG. 😆😆 LOL!
I think it's hard to tell as the judges as there are so many famous people, that there head my just go blank (at least that would probably happen to me)
Having been brought up in a family of punks, Most of my family guessed him before he even sang, by his mannerisms and the clues, the rest guessed him when he did sing 😆😆 Hes amazing, love him and the reason he did the show shows he's not always a scoundrel ❤️
Good on ya mate. I'm a big Pistols fan and Lydon fan and I never guessed. Even when he said about his wife it didn't hit me until the reveal. I am junk at this show hahaha
I heard that performance was a big inside joke between him and his wife. And he did it because he knew she'd laugh and go "THATS YOU!" Or something like that.
That lady likes pop. How can I tell? She did the rock and roll sign wrong. Johnny tried to do the Anarchy in the UK laugh but forgot he was supposed to disguise himself :)
@@CodeDeb yeah more than likely, I would have anyway. Big clue was that he really loved his wife. Only John Rotten would proclaim that in the way he did
I'm surprised he's not returning to England since California has turned into a shit hole. I live in Florida and it's like a different planet. But I know Johny has complained about it.. He said homeless people were camping/hanging out in his yard scaring his wife. We are lucky to have him. He's way beyond the masses here. They're dumb and don't get him
I know I’m late to the game but had to find something to say how could the judges not know this was him?? I guessed it correctly from the first appearance
His sillyness, and the “banned from famous venues” and his plaid on his clothes was a huge give away and his strong British accent of course (and his r rolls) Not to mention his little body tilt that he did, he’s always done that Also happy birthday Mr rotten
I knew RIGHT AWAY THIS WAS THE LEGENDARY JOHHNY “ROTTEN” LYDON A little funny trivia when he tried out for the Sex Pistols he actually saying and Alice Cooper son
How the heck does that sound like gene Simmons his voice is a lot deeper than that and he would probably have to move around a lot more gently since he’s like 80 I think 😂
Gene wouldn't do it. He'd ask to wear his KISS outfit, no exceptions - and then try to make a profit for himself by hocking KISS crap during the songs.
Oh common! The panel didn't it was John Lydon??? don't believe this at all - They faked not knowing for the sake of the show. His voice is so unique and recognizable
Yall are shits. He got on it because he thought his wife of 45 years, who has severe dementia, would smile and get a kick out of it. So sorry he's not out there breaking shit and screaming about anarchy. Johnny Rotten is a persona. John lydon is a person.
