It's because everyone who finished above him were professional vocalists who have dedicated their entire lives to the craft. There was no way he was going to beat Seal or Wayne Brady in a singing competition, just like neither of them would have a chance against Victor in a basketball competition. He is extremely talented though. If they had to sing and then play some 1-on-1 he'd be the champion no contest.
Season 2 really showed how performing is more than just singing. Wayne Brady was just a step above everyone with not only his amazing voice, but his dancing and stage presence. I'm not saying no other celeb didn't have those qualities, but Wayne Brady/Fox was just the best
@@gengarcrobat1576 i would argue that season 2 showed the shift to valuing things besides the singing. Monster could barely move in his outfit so compared to Donnie that argument kinda goes out the window.
Im just gonna talk about the clues, that I remembered and the meaning: “You’ll always be my number 2” - he was pick number 2 in his draft Basketball shoes - nba player Cupcake with number 4 - His jersey number is 4 “I suffered a setback recently”, the guy wearing a knee brace- he recently injured his knee before the show The constant references to magic - he played for the Orlando magic for a few seasons “My parents came here from nothing and taught me the American dream” - his parents migrated from Nigeria The college degree - he does have a college degree in kinesiology “Keep up the pace” - at the time he played for the Indiana Pacers -he was an NBA all star The marriage him focusing on the ring - (I don’t think he was ever married or engaged) but it signifies him trying to get a championship ring The letter - He grew up in Maryland There are some others that I know mean something, but I can’t figure it out, feel free to correct me
I’m rewatching this video for the third time this year cause I can’t get enough of his performances on this show! His voice is so smooth and comforting to the ear and soul
Wow, his voice is BEAUTIFUL. He should really release an album of all these complete songs! Victor, put the basketball down and get behind the mic more often!
When you make not only people in the audience cry, BUT!! Also 1 of the best female vocalists as well, its probably a clue that you have something special
i just watch this thingamajig singing rainbow by kacey musgraves and think that this man has similar voice color with john legend. and i'm right, he sang ordinary people. and something that make it so extraordinary is he’s basketball player omg. how can a basketballer does that
In my opinion, he sings love songs or slow tempo songs better than upbeat songs. Take Rainbow and Ordinary People, those are the best performances he had in my opinion
This show shows us just how many other stars are there who can really sing and probably have a carrier in the industry too, apart from the well known artist worldwide
He sounds like John Legend at some points. I'm not into sports too but was amazed by his voice. He is also a smart singer 'cause of his song choices, did suit his voice.
When it rains, it pours But you didn't even notice it ain't rainin' anymore It's hard to breathe when all you know is The struggle of stayin' above the risin' water line Well, the sky has finally opened The rain and wind stopped blowin' But you're stuck out in the same ol' storm again You hold tight to your umbrella Well, darlin', I'm just tryin' to tell ya That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head If you could see what I see, you'd be blinded by the colors Yellow, red, and orange, and green, and at least a million others So tie up the bow, take off your coat, and take a look around 'Cause the sky has finally opened The rain and wind stopped blowin' But you're stuck out in the same ol' storm again You hold tight to your umbrella Well, darlin', I'm just tryin' to tell ya That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head Oh, tie up the bow, take off your coat, and take a look around Everything is alright now 'Cause the sky has finally opened The rain and wind stopped blowin' But you're stuck out in the same ol' storm again Let go of your umbrella 'Cause, darlin', I'm just trying to tell ya That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head Yeah, there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head Mm, mm, mm It'll all be alright
didnt realize how easily the hints gave him up😭😭 pacers reference, bball shoes #4 and an all the stars black panthers/ orlando magic reference is hilarious
Yes I always replay this or watching everyday because of victor oladipo perodemamce wowww he had a beautiful voice and hes an nba all star and and award winning in nba and he deserved to have an album but I hope soon he had an album and I hope he will back this season in nba salute to you victor Oladipo one of my idol in nba and humble great I hope he join again in this masked singer👑❤💪
I knew it was Vic the minute I saw the clues! The mentions of “feathery”, “keep up the pace”, and “magic”, (played for the Pacers at the time, drafted second by the Magic, and his nickname is “Mr. Feathery) the 4 in the cupcake is his number & the day he was born (5/4) and the cupcake is red and white - he went to IU and those are their colors! Not to mention the outfit too. Blue and gold for the Pacers, the feathers are the same color as the Magic’s mascot, and he had a “cut” in his suit right where his injury was!
I came across him as a singer first, imagine my surprise when he comes up on Google as a pro-athlete! He’s got such a smooth voice and his tone is great 🎶 😍. So many pro-singers these days aren’t even coming close to his talent!
That's our Dipo! He plays on the Heat now; unfortunately he tore his knee in the third game of the Playoffs and is out indefinitely. God we need him right now... we're running on a skeleton crew...
