You should go to the Scotland day celebrations in NY ,my local schools pile band played in grand Central station last year ,it's on RU-vid NLC pipe band in New York
Every time I hear the bagpipes I feel I am being enticed to go back to the land of my ancestors in the northern highlands. God bless you all in Scotland. 🏴♥️
.. naprawdę nie chcę szokować 🤫😶🤔🤫🙄👍😎👍👋😀 ale jestem Polskim prawie Brytyjczykiem ... 🤔 tyle tych flag rozinernetowach obecnie .. 🤔 ... ? ... jak odnaleźć siebie ...?...
Both my parents were of Scot parentage, I was born in England but when I hear the pipes I get a chill up my spine, and when I go to Scotland it feels like I have gone home.
Towards the end of the Korean War, elements of the Black Watch Regiment was marching towards the docks at Pusan, on their way home. The bagpipes could be heard for miles. It was an incredible sight. I shall never forget that parade. USMC (Retired)
Dutch Real patriots don’t pick and choose what governments they fought for as they know that in the end it’s the nation that they fought for not the government nor invidious citizens who may or may not know or agree with your notion of Americanism. You know fuck all what Americanism is and by the sound of you you ain’t no patriot either. End of.
I'm all American and I live in Pennsylvania. Im surrounded by Scottish decendant that live here. And im England and American Indian decent. And I love my neighbors a d I'm proud of my country. And t pipes are given by God. Amazing grace on the pipes . Tells what Jesus did for us all the best way man can do. God bless the 🇺🇸 and Scottland. Freedom forevermore.
Most respect from Romania! The sound! The meaning! The History! On the battlefield! God bless Scotland! God bless Scottish people! God bless The Scottish Army! Anyway in the World! Anytime, anywhere!
Something Stirs Within when one hears the pipes and drums of Scotland. My grandfather an Edinburgh native ,brings tears to my eyes remembering him. Beautiful. Thank you.🙏🇺🇸✌️🥰
We maybe a small island but the dedication of our army makes our hearts swell with pride no matter how often we hear the pipes play it makes us have such a pride in Scotland thanx for the music ❤❤❤❤
i dont have a religion , but if i follow my religion : u will meet ur dad in the halls of walhalla ! so as me! drinking the met and tell stories about ur battles!
I am from Fiji an island in the South Pacific was ceded to the British monarchy 1874 and had our independence in 1970. I have this colonial hang over and have a fascination to the British especially the changing of guards and military parade of various honour and look to this parade incomplete without the scottish guard and bagpipes. Exceptional sounds of music.
My FAVORITE professor ever was of German heritage, born and raised in Maryland. He'd boost about how in the Middle Ages, German Knights were brave and looked tremendous in their suits of armor. But he said if there was anyone they'd fear on the battlefield, it was 100% the Scots.
Us kids got together for my parents wedding anniversary we sent them to the UK! My Dad was thrilled! My Dad had done a lot of work in London during the Second World War. They fell completely in love with Scotland! My Dad was a very strong man as he was a blacksmith. He was stunned by the fact that he could hardly lift one of their swords. 🗡️
I'm in love by Scotland and all the scots culture. The sound of pipes and drums give me goosebumps and make my hair neck stand up . Make me feel so emotional and proud and also make me feel sorry that I'm not Scottish.
because they don't understand the pipes and the history...We do NOT hold them in contempt... we just feel sorry and hope for a better way of understanding for them🤭
Being at this one was electrifying and magical. I had recently lost my dad (Military) and a friend paid for me and her dad to go as a surprise. What an experience. Thank you all for the hard work that goes in to it. ❤️🌹
I had the honour to March at CFB blackdown to pipes and drums back in 2015 and it was the the greatest feeling ever. I felt like a total badass locked into the beat making sure every step was perfect felling like the bigger badass in the world
I grew up in Edinburgh and my Mum, Dad and a few friends were going to the Tattoo. I was probably about 7 or 8. Gran was to look after us. I was just getting in to bed and my Dad comes in, "Do you want to go to the Tattoo? Put on as many warm clothes as you can". Being young I put on two pairs of trousers about three jumpers and a coat, hat and gloves (I lived in Scotland. Even at a young age, if someone says it's going to be cold then you know the thing is real). This was in the early 80's and if I had had a space suit then it would have been the best option. Whoever designed the seating was either a sadist or didn't know what the wind is like in Edinburgh. It blows under your legs I've said to people who were in a bad way before, " At least your not stood in an Edinburgh bus-stop in February". It was probably the most magical thing I have ever seen as a child. The castle, the sound, the smell of gunpowder, the fireworks and cheering and the crowd carrying you along and all good natured and happy smiles.
I agree totally with you..... My great grandfather (Scott's soldier) played his pipes in WW1 in Belgium & his son my grandfather played the same pipes in new guinea when he served in ww2..... From Mackenzie clan here.🇭🇲
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I’ve always loved the pipes and drums, since seeing it on TV as a child, of all things a advertisement for Dewars! After that I recall seeing several movies with Scots in them. I put going to Scotland on my bucket list even before I knew what a bucket list was and we went in 2019, just before COVID arrived. Thank God that we were able to go. Edinburgh and the Castle were amazing. Next on the list is to experience the Tattoo. I already own 8 kilts and love wearing them on hikes and such. If I could I’d retire to the highlands in Scotland.
As a proud English man, who is hugely proud of his Scottish heritage, (grandad) I'm happy to say we go to Edinburgh as often as possible, my grandad was from Leith, and videos like this make my skin come alive with goosebumps, more please!
it's impossible to stop watching this..I am from Ukraine, but my eyes are getting wet because of this amazing sound of pipes and the state of people who are playing..this tradition is beautiful, I hope it will never stop exist.
We will always be here, the romams tried, and the english never beat us , unless they kill us all SCOTLAND WILL ALWAYS BE HERE. God bless Ukraine. SAOR ALBA GU BRATH
I am of Clan MacGregor and Clan Murray ancestry and I can tell you, it does something to me when I hear the pipes. I can remember well the pipes at my Grandpa Murray`s funeral. Awsome!
I hope you don't mind me saying that my great grandfather (Scott's soldier) played his pipes in WW1 in Belgium & his son (my grandfather)played the same pipes when he served in new guinea in ww2..... From The Mackenzie clan here.🇭🇲 God bless to your family & your grandpa & condolences.
I was in the scots guards, I am married to a Scottish lady, and love Scotland and the pipes, their is no Scottish blood in my body but love everything about the fair country
As a true scot we will always stand side by side with anyone who needs our help, But god help you if you turn against us, as we will fight till the last man and woman to defend what is right.. . GO IN PEACE..
I love Scottish bag pipes though am from the other side of the Hemisphere, a small Melanesian country Papua New Guinea, South Pacific. Brings tears always when I hear. Albert Tawia
This song or ode brings my Scottish ancestry to the hilt, I’m proud to be of Scot’s dependance, proud to have served my country in my own way and deeply proud of each and every veteran who served, I have nothing but admiration for those whom gave the greatest sacrifice for we who are here now………. God speed and may yet rest in peace….Lest we forget ..
Im a Ross, living in germany. My Heart jumps whenever my ears hear bagpipes. So Yeah i understand how u feel. Im a bit sad that i dont have any contact to my Clan Chief. I just cant the right words to adress my Love for the Clan and for the Things we fought for in the battle of Bannockburn. Im a bit sad that my Clan split up and spread all over Europa. U are not alone mate. Scots are always joyful when we hear bagpipes
The Edinburgh Tattoo is one of my favorite memories of my trip to Scotland in 2019. Seemed like it was all over in 5 minutes, the time flew by! Absolutely amazing! Helped inspire me to join a band and I have not looked back since!
Do you know that the most of the time it's a Scottish regiment that goes into the battle first and the Scottish soldiers are the best soldiers ever in the British army, but that's my opinion anyway a hope someone will agree with me on this one please reply if you do thanks
Many years ago heard the Indian Army on Parade march and play the pipes and drums! It is great that history is being kept alive for future generations!
I don't know if I agree with you because all I know is I absolutely love Pipes and Drums I have never seen them in battle personally but I have 52 percent of Celtic UK in my blood
I have to admit this brings a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes, the pipes and drums are a wonderful sound and the sight of such impeccable military precision incredible
Was there in 2012. The way the massed pipes and drums appeared half way up the esplanade out of the dark, playing Highland Cathedral was spine tingling.
I have Scots blood coursing through my veins (Samford). Even though I live in the North American Midwest and my Ancestors came from Scotland well over a century ago, whenever I hear the skirl of the pipes, a chill goes up my spine, the hair on the back of my neck stands up and, sometimes, a tear comes to my eye. There must be a genetic component to this. I hope someday to visit Scotland and especially Edinburgh.
That sound! It resonates all the way to your soul. It was a battle cry, it was a shout of victory! Intimidated & struck fear in the hearts of enemies, & brought hope & course to those being oppressed.
Oh what I wouldn't give to see this in person! Saw the tattoo/massed bands at Stone Mountain, GA back in the 90s which was a thrill but, oh, to be in Edinburgh!
I was there when this was filmed. Absolutely superb night out. If you get the chance to go to the Tattoo then go! Not just Scottish culture but it embraces all cultures and is way better live than the edited TV version. In the words of Billy Connelly, it well repays a visit!
Whenever I listen to the pipes and drums, I'm moved to tears. I love them. I grew up in the mountains of Tyrol, far away from Scotland . However, there are some similarities between those two tough peoples.
Nel 1982 sono arrivato con la famiglia fino ad Edimburgo ad assistere a questo magnifico spettacolo. C'erano anche i nostri Bersaglieri, fu una serata indimenticabile. W la Scozia!
outstanding, much love and respect for the Scottish regiments, bagpipes make the hairs on my neck stand up and give me goose bumps, such a magical instrument, brilliant.
Outstanding! This is the most amazing footage of the massed Pipes & Drums & the Edinburgh Tattoo that I have ever seen! It felt like we were right there amongst the Pipes & Drums! Whoever filmed & recorded this spectacular Tattoo did a phenomenal job! Also, the Pipers & Drummers were outstanding, along with the magnificent Edinburgh Castle in the background! It was totally thrilling! Thank you for sharing this captivating experience! Brilliant!
I will never forget being in Edinburgh in 1992. I had not planned-on nor even knew what the Military Tattoo was. Someone gave me a ticket, so in I went. The lone piping of Amazing Grace slayed me. Magical, magnificent, glorious.
As an American the sound of the bagpipes means death is approaching. I am also Scots-Irish (my family emigrated to Pennsylvania in the 17th century) and have always loved the sound of the bagpipes.
One of my earliest memories is Green Ants and having a Army Camp for a back yard, but the pipes is in my soul. Every time i hear the pipes i am take back to what I am not sure, but taken I am.
A wonderful sound never heard by me in South Africa any more. Oh how marvelous to have this amazing reminder of what used to be. How I miss the pride we citizens had in our country! Thank you for this reminder of what used to be.
Completely amazing. I'm American and love the perfection. Percussion guard to tell you to pay attention, and a bagpipe guard to tell the story. Love it. Thank you. Watched this many times. Live, is on my bucket list.
I will always remember the tattoo. Standing in the freezing cold as a wee boy listening to this. The Piper outside of Waverley station is it signal that I am home.
