Can a surgeon do a Spinal lumbar block in L5/S1 lumbar Disc for diagnostic purposes to find out if that disc is bad? I am not talking Steroid but lidocaine injection. I have been telling my surgeon I think my pain pain stems from L5/S1 disc he thought it was L4/L5 and I had that segment fused but still have pain. Now he is saying instead of fusing L5/S1 I need to do a lumbar block to determine if that is the bad disc? Do you think this is accurate?
The 3 in 1 isn't taught very well here you don't just dump it, if it's not in the right facial layer you won't get any relief. To get the right layer you need to feel for two pops one through fascia Lata then the other through fascia iliaca. this explanation is insufficient to just watch and go do
