The fight scenes are messy on purpose. They are all consistently confusing and crowded. They mean to represent internet flamewars today where you can't tell who is real and who is a bot or what's going on.

I think it was the right amount. the fact that the machines used the truth to cover the truth, twisting it and make it look ridiculous and silly was fucking brilliant. I wanted to know what happened to Zion, how was the situation there, how many ships were still left, how was humanity outside the matrix after Revolutions so I liked the second part equally. the fact that there was a war between machine factions because of what Neo did was amazing, the new city being a mix of humans and machines that support the cause of the One. that's great! Trinity being another sistemic anomaly!?? that's fucking awesome!! haha! I really loved this movie. I see people hating it online and I just go: "- nah.. you just didn't get it mate.." xD

I have the same opinion. First half was interesting, I wish they stuck to that and went more technical on how The matrix was doing that and how to overcome and shit like that, instead it became a Trinity rescue movie in the 2nd half. There were no stakes, of course Trinity would be saved, thats not interesting. Should have left her dead.

The problem with that though is if we wanted a reminder of just how bad current cinema is, we can literaly go and watch EVERY other movie out right now lol. They didn't need to ruin the matrix in order to prove that point, and it's certainly not as if the hidden meanings in this film will change hollywood and the direction it's going anytime soon either. I think the vast majority would agree that this movie would have made a LOT more sense if it was treated as a side series/story, with neo perhaps taking on the mentor role of morpheus for a new character who becomes "the one" in this new version of the matrix.

@@matics28 well actually, it is by using a "mainstream" product that you can send a message that reaches as many people as possible. For this the purpose of Lana in this film, would not have had the same impact without the Matrix (which also lends itself very well to waking people up). Frankly, I am also happy that he did not choose to make Neo the umpteenth mentor of someone else: it would have been yet another banal relaunch of a saga. After all, Matrix 4 doesn't even want to relaunch the saga, on the contrary I believe that killing it was Lana's purpose, so as not to see it end up in the hands of other directors and transform it into yet another commercial product to be exploited.

I watched it .. I loved it.. and Hater Be gone! Go cry 😢 . It’s so ironic.. The reason they hate it ,is because they wanted another exact movie just like the others. They didn’t want Neo to be changed , they didn’t want anything to be Be changed. Well sorry ..but that is LIFE things and people do change.. get older.. can’t do some of the things they used to do 20 yrs ago! Why should it be any different for Neo, in a world that has kept him in prison of his mind for over 69 yrs ! He was mind melted for longer during this time in the Mateix than he was the first time. Part of the movie is a critique of how the internet went to hell with bots and fake news. The fights are messy on purpose, like the fights on the internet, where you can't really tell who is who, who is a bot and who is not. Just a mess without style. That's what we are right now. Even the Merovingian says so.

I need to rewatch it with directors comments or an extended version. i feel like there is a deeper message I'm not seeing, and alot of story cut out and made it confusing. as much as Lana hates remaking it, I don't think she would purposely butcher it. i mean its still an opportunity to explain the matrix philosophy

I always thought reloaded was the best one only bc I’ve seen lit about 20 times. I also just finished watching all 4 movies in order and the first and third ones were wayyyy better than I remember. I’ve already seen the fourth one about four times already and I can’t help but think it’s a parallel to the first one in many ways. It wasn’t as original as I thought when I saw it in theatres.

I believe what you’re seeing is a reboot of a new vision. The wachowskis have changed a lot since the other movies. They’re updating the message with their new beliefs and life experiences. This isn’t a full sequel but a joint in moving toward a new sequel.

Why make another, then? Why another Matrix title specifically. This is the first movie I've seen in theaters in years, literally, because of what the Matrix meant to me. To find out it was a wishy washy political statement which you can find by the dozen EVERYWHERE these days was heartbreaking to say the least. I was half expecting it, what with the Wachowskis'...history since and everything, but I had hope. Why recast Morpheus? Why does this exist? Why? Couldn't have this been a different title? One that made the same points Lana for some reason wanted to put out there, like we haven't heard it before? I would've understood the new "beliefs" and "life experiences" and would've been like "Well, not for me, anymore". The Matrix was something else entirely in 1999. Something else besides what came before. And definitely something else other than this. It's sad.

Absolutely LOVED the film! The people who hated it for what ever reason, really didn't grasp the intention of resurrection, rebooting and the satire behind this entire era or recreation. Its literally in the title. Interviews with Lana literally tell you exactly why she made this, what her intentions were & even to the specifics of recreating certain shots which are instantly recognisable yet not the same!

I specially liked how the movie mocked the Matrix series, exposing all the crazy comments people say about what is the Matrix and what not. I liked it as well. I think the movie needs to be watched with fresh eyes; and as matrix movies require, to be willing to break some structures that you may have. It challenges you, it challenges the concept of a reboot, it doesn't try to be the same movies as before and I don't feel it has to either.

Awesome movie. It's definitely not catoring to the old crowd. They did a great job making it something unique and new but carried the soul of wonder, mind-bending imagery and adventure. Just like the other person said, you have to watch the new one with fresh eyes. I feel sorry for the people who couldn't enjoy it for what it truly is because they are hung up on the past and can't accept that it wasn't what they are used to. It's these individuals who will give it another shot 10-20 years later and realize how utterly wrong they were.

got to love this lazy way of thinking. people did grasp what the message was and we fucking hated it. poor acting, poor directing, poor fight scenes, poor script, and guess what? it shows in the money that it made, and the overabundance of BAD reviews compared to good ones. just because you have a different opinion than practically everybody who was able to stay away for all 2 1/2 hours of this terrible movie, it doesn't make you smarter or more observant or understand than the rest of us. I'm glad you liked it but don't go around thinking that the "haters" don't understand the film. it just sucked ass, that's all.

After watching it, you could tell this movie was not planned at all, it felt forced and the fight scene where going down the drain even with Chad on set i mean cmon what was going on Really behind the scenes. Best thing was seeing Neo and Trinity back on the screen

Once I saw how self referential the trailer was with them saying and doing all the same stuff from the first movie it solidified my opinion that the movie Wouldn’t be good. Why would I get excited to see them do a lesser version of the originals? I can just watch them over . Lesser actors playing huge characters that relied on the original actors? I mean it makes no sense. Vibe totally different. Only one of the directors .. it was obvious it wouldn’t be good
