I agree the movies bad but why come up with a sequel idea for a series they felt was finished. The whole movie is the story of WB saying were making a new matrix movie with or without you and were bringing Neo and Trinity back from the dead because thats what keeps the sheep in the seats.

I haven't watched the original Matrix since the 2000 lol, totally forgot about Matrix 2 and 3 was about. So going into Resurrections, as I was watching... absolutely have no clue on what the hell is going on, for the entirely of the plot haha. Nice to see Keanu Reeves as Neo, I'm sure that's a big deal to lots of people and that's great. But for me, it's an average movie.

I tried it either, but during the watching of first part, I suddenly remembered, that Neo can't fly anymore(part 4), I stopped to watch it either .

That was exactly me going in to the theatre, on the way driving back home after, I was driving along in silence wondering what the hell did I just watch!

Same with my father. My dad considers the original movie the best movie in all of history. So when the trailer came out he was exited. Exitement that you’d only see in something like seeing the other Spider-Mans in no way home or literally anything amazing happening in a novela. That was his excitement. By this point I had never seen the trilogy so he forced me to watch it and I have to say it’s great. So I was also anticipating this movie and I couldn’t stop talking about it even though I had only just been introduced to the franchise properly. So seeing the excitement and anticipation fade from my dad’s eyes in the movie theater told me that something wasn’t right. And it wasn’t, I agree with almost every point in this review despite only watching the first movie like a month ago. Well I did have a bit of a fun time putting the things together and maybe the whole suicide thing and stuff could’ve been explored a bit more it wasn’t. It was terrible and I got nothing out of it. Just the feel as a whole was terrible. I should end it here since this comment is getting way to long sooo yeah. This is just the most disappointed I’ve been in a while.

I quit the movie when I reached the part where Smith appears with the Merovingian. The original Smith actor was incredible, and his lines were a perfect match to his character. The new Smith was nothing but a joke. The Merovingian was even somehow worse, instead of a cool-tempered deterministic mysterious semi-antagonist, he became a crazy French hobo.

Who would have though it takes a large amount of experience, expertise and skill to put together a great fight sequence! That is a significant issue, everyone just assumes they have skillz since they watched a bunch of movies/videos whatever. Like game of thrones I guess, seasons 6-8.

Chad Staleski (Tiff's/ Trinity's husband in the movie) was Keanu's stunt double for the original trilogy and runs his own stunt production team thats in charge of the John Wick movies... this movie was made to fail in every way conceivable out of spite and malice because the wichowskis didnt want to make it (and it shouldnt have been made... atleast by either of them)... ultimately this film is nothing but a huge FU to the studio and i for one will never support anything either of these "sisters" do going forward... big FUs back to lana and lilly for purposely ruining this franchise

You immediately forgot about every single issue in the movie! None of the supposed "conflicts" lasted more than 5 min before it was completely overturned! Also, this movie played like a sitcom flashback episode. There were about 200 plots and took 44 min to actually start (I counted)

I streamed it on Hbo max. Stopped a little over halfway through and canceled my subscription. This movie was complete trash. Only matrix I haven't watched all the way through and the others I watched many, many times. 😫

I would have walked out of the theatre had I watched it at a theatre. I was with family and felt like I couldn't leave them to suffer without me.

I'm so glad I saw it on HBO and not wasted my cash, but unfortunately I sacrificed my time 😔

Lol, ure actually right. For me the only good thing about matrix 4 is the fact that now I value matrix 2 and especially 3 muuuuch more. So I just forget about 4 and close my mind with 3. Seriously 4 is just so bad, I feel kinda betrayed, lul. While sitting in the cinema and watching the fight scenes, I legit thought "wtf is going on, why is so trash. It looks and feels absolute not entertaining." it's actually mesmerizing that they produced such a bad movie. Even if u have very low expectations and don't care about the former movies, matrix 4 is just an awful awful movie.

Reloaded and Revolutions are not masterpieces, but now they look much better overall than Matrix 4. Matrix 4 is wrong on all facets. It is unbelievable how bad Lana Wachovski botched it! Exactly the way the idiot Shane Black botched the Predator completely in 2018.

First off, if we are to assume this is a trilogy, the ideas presented that were left hanging should be resolved and answered in the future. You can only explore so much in 2 and a half hours, especially if you are setting up payoffs in a later movie. I agree some things should have been fleshed out more, but was everything fleshed out during the original trilogy? No, it wasn't. Maybe I can clear things up. The Matrix movies have always been about paying attention and context clues, thinking a bit outside the box. So, The Machines started working with humans because Neo made peace happen at the end of Revolutions. But just because some Machines followed that, does not mean all of them do. We don't need an hour on robot politics, some machines want control and to use/destroy freed humans, and some don't. It's fairly simple. Just as we didn't get an explanation into the Architect until Matrix Reloaded (and even then it was brief and left more questions), we should expect the same on an explanation of the Analyst. We already know from Matrix Reloaded that the Matrix had been through many iterations, this is simply a continuation. We were also told many old programs were purged. But the real question is, what does an analyst actually do? They analyze data and make decisions or recommendations based on that. The Analyst (I believe) is merely second in line to the real Architect, who was actually the cat. There's a reason Neo didn't like the cat, much like Neo didn't like a certain man in a white suit. Remember when the Analyst was scrambling to get the cat in the coffee shop? There's a reason for that. The idea of Neo and Smith being a yin and yang was expanded and discussed in the original trilogy, more so in Reloaded and Revolutions, Smith almost directly says this to Neo. They didn't quite expand on it fully in them either, it just is. So how did it hinder this film? This just continued that symbiotic relationship, Smith was reuploaded in this iteration by the Analyst (or not) to keep watch on Neo. They can't exist without each other, and I'm sure we will know more if later sequels happen. We don't quite know enough what The Machines did to Neo and Trinity to ressurect them after Revolutions, especially Trinity because she was in much worse shape than Neo. They hinted at them being able to change code, perhaps her code was changed or fused with Neos somehow to keep her alive. Again, I know it's too bad it wasn't explored but we can use context in the movie to perhaps answer why for now. It's too bad you didn't enjoy the meta aspects of the film, I thought it was brilliant and refreshing it was aware of itself while at the same time being oblivious to itself. Lana wanted to emphasize this and directly talk about Warner Brothers. The Matrix is so much more than bullet time and "effing with your mind", that's the entire point of that montage and the movie ended up being much more than just bullet time and "effing with your mind". The Merovingian is also a commentary on the current state of the entertainment industry in general. He even clearly breaks the fourth wall by saying he will be back in the sequel. How can you not appreciate those headshots on the modern film industry? Can you explain what characters were caricatures of themselves? Which to be fair sort of goes along with the meta aspect of the film. We already know Neo and Trinity, so they can't be. Bugs didn't quite have an arc, but we can assume she will be in later films and I'm sure it will somehow connect to what she did with Trinity how they "fused" for that short time. Also, Trinity was not just a damsel in distress, she was blue pilled for ~60 years and liked her life (it said in the movie she likes where she was at, when they discussed about pulling her into the real world). Did we get an explanation in the original trilogy when Neo used his powers in the real world? Sometimes not everything can be answered in one movie, so it's too bad you didn't enjoy it but hopefully I answered some of your questions or gave a new perspective on things.

Well articulated. Agree on the character development. There was depth of character in the 1st movie. The Oracle didn't have a lot of dialogue but every word & inflection counted. I find myself appreciating some of the analytical views as maybe this is a movie where you're supposed to look beyond the surface

That was for me, the quintessential ending with the oracle sitting in the park and the architect coming up and saying ‘what do you think I am, human?’ What a monumental mind fuk . Brilliant movie . The war, the fight scenes , the score and cinematography. It was all there . So jazzed going back to that film. Now that was nostalgic . Revolutions was just nasty . Like a sewer backed up in Zion and the sewage splattered all over the page so they just took parts and pieces and made a new film .

@@Chiwalker neo had the force power even outside the matrix. It is something he learned that is not dependent on the matrix. He tried flying and almost succeeded in the new matrix so he still knew how to do it, but he couldnt. He wasnt linked to this new matrix like trinity was. Trinity might learn the force power now that she is symbotic to the machine code like neo was. Trinity granted him the power to fly again in the new matrix. The analyst also had trinity under deeper wraps than neo because she was his source code. Even then she could see the future of the matrix while neo could only see the past.

@@adamropp4757 the 2nd had the fight choreography throughout and immense actions set pieces, visuals with Zion and machine world, great soundtrack to cover it, unique characters, made the agents seem tough still and dangerous. Third one started slacking more.

Actually if you are referring to the writer, Sophia. I saw a recent interview she did with some other youtubers channel. And they asked her about the 4th part coming out. And she told them there was no 4th movie coming out. She argued them down, while they was telling her the trailer was out. So basically all I am saying is that the writer had nothing to do with this and she didnt even know they were making a new one so she might end up back in court suing them again for another 30 million big ones.

A dimwit could have written, directed, produced and casted a better movie. I’ve seen Matrix 1 and 2 over 200 times and is my all time favorite movie followed by Tron Legacy. BUT this movie was soooo shit. I’m deeply saddened and pissed off. To be honest I felt like leaving 15min into it. They screwed up one of my favorite characters Merovingian. What a waste. They should have done a prequel and showed how the Matrix was formed. They should have used cgi to bring the characters together like they did with Tron Legacy. Final comments. The writer, director, producer and casting agent should be utterly ashamed to have created this piece of shit movie. I want my money back!

That's an interesting take. I intentionally turned the movie off just now when I realized how much of a dumpster fire this sequel turned out to be. Seeing any more of it would only taint my imagine of the trilogy. Like a mental scar that can't be erased once you witness something horrible.
