I loved the Mavericks in the 90's so when I bumped into them 20+ yrs. later I was taken back yet propelled forward into their greatest years. They seem happy with who they have become. I am 75 now & only in love once but married to the same woman twice! Alone again this song is my life- I truly was Born to be Blue. This song helps me live with that & I am so grateful to this band for helping me in my struggle to forge ahead. My love was someone just for me but I couldn't hold it together. Thank you Sweet Girl for the 47 years you tried to help me love. And to the Mavericks- your songs touch my soul- thank you.
The old Mavericks looked tough. The new band looks like a bunch of freaks and that gay guy on the keyboard is weird as is the Mexican guitarist. Tg Raul still has that amazing voice. PS Im not the one who gave a thumbs down.
I've always loved the Mavericks. That mix of Spanish, traditional country, and Rockabilly, not to mention the lead singers beautiful, powerful voice. This song just drives it home, awesome, awesome, awesome.
Raul Malo is the Roy Orbison of the 21 century. He already was in the 90's but now he is the only and sole living singer who can be prepared to Roy's voice without trying to do it on purpose. He sounds just like him. Wonderful singer.
I'd like to put in a word for Paul Deakin - the Maverick's founding member and drummer extraordinaire! Just listen to the PERFECT driving beat he lays down for the others to ride on.
I play in a band (Facebook, @steelcanyon) that covers a lot of Mavericks tunes, and as drummer, I love raising my left hand a mile high on every snare hit. It only makes sense to do when covering the Mavs, and when I do, it feels 100% natural.
Yes, it was my husband that told me about that. That the drummer sets the beat for the others. I didn't know that. Just listened to the music and singing.
@@bcoldwell1 Just a thought - perhaps raising your hand "a mile high" gives a visual cue to the others. The Mavs are spread across the stage - some maybe can't actually hear the beat.
Great, great band. Raul Malo has a beautiful voice. Great guitarist, producer & leader of the Mavericks. These guys know how to harmonize & put on a fun & flamboyant show! 🎸🎼🎶🎹🕺💃Love to dance to their music!❤️
Raul is not only a great singer, when on stage he is smiling and subtly keeping in touch with each of the musicians backing him. Who wouldn't die just to be playing in a band like the Mavericks?
A Mavericks concert is such a celebration of life. Along with the best singer on the planet, the entire band's showmanship and joy for what they do are off the charts.
I heard this for the first time today. I liked it immediately and can't stop listing to it. The vocals are amazing. The arrangement is awesome. GREAT SONG!
I do believe that every great song that these guys have ever recorded, has led to this moment in their career. I cannot go 1 night without hearing and of course singing along with this unforgettable, insanely fantastic song. Every single member of this band deserves all glories. I wish you all the greatness life has to offer.
One of the most talented groups of Musicians in any era. Incredible depth and breadth on cross-over in any Genre and easily the best vocal artist in the business. I hope people realize how great these guys truly are and support this return! I'll be right in the middle of this when they play the Dallas show in two weeks!!
I had not heard of them until recently when my guy got into a band called "Cadillac Ranch" (they do this song and it's my fave!). I am now a Maverick's fan too.
I boght a brand new Mav cd, climbed into my Pete and covered 6000 miles over the next nine days, I got sorta jaded, had to move to Asleep ar The Wheel for a ehile
Damn, these guys are amazing, so talented and so understated! Need so much more recognition, cos I can honestly say, the mavericks have been the best group between our family of three generations! We love, my kids love and my in-laws love! Don’t think there’s another group, that exists, that we can all love, and listen to continuously!! Brilliant xoxo
They have charted 13 times on Billboard Hot Country Songs, 1 Grammy, 2 CMAs , 3 ACMs, one certified platinum in the US and Canada. Hit single in the UK because the music style is outside of country music as well, THATS WHY THEY ARE A GREAT BAND.
A beautifully done video of a wonderful song. . Malos voice, egads...perfect all the time. A wide range and always on. Eddies guitar work is spotless. This band is one of the most under rated today, just about the only band I have ever seen that can carry three guitars without tripping over each other. The drummer never gets his due, but time and time again, he keeps everyone in line.
The Mavericks are a class of it's own. The songs are great, the voice is great and even their shoes are great. Who else is wearing spectators today :-)? They are great musicians with style. I like every song of them and 'In Time' is one of the best albums ever (for me).
OMG ! What part of heaven did these guys fall out of ? I remember the Mavericks when the arrived on the scene back in 1994, and I totally loved "I Should Have Been True". Well, boys and girls, in my humble yet educated opinion, THIS song eclipses that early one. Seriously this song is PERFECTION ! And I love the latin feel of it ! This is the best song Raul has ever blessed with his incredible vocal chords !
well California6567 there the words i wish could have said this is total heaven, were so lucky to see and hear the greatest band; singer i have ever heard.
unless im mistaken just exactly when did the Mavericks arrive on the scene???????...........ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sWkOxo5hUf8.html .…..
this is without a doubt this best band out there my all time favorite the line up if perfect ,eddie perez is awsome and the vocals and harmonys are top notch.....
yeah, yeah, yeah...Raul Malo, Eddie Perez and all the instrumentists from The Mavericks band are very happy in this melody interpretation, despite it is a sad song but, anyway, obvioulsy, all of us can see...they are happy...PLEASE, THE MAVERICKS PLAY IT AGAIN, THOUSAND OF TIMES !!! GREAT !!!

I think this is the first time I'm hearing this song. It is really good; boy oh boy - that Raul has such a magnificent voice - a true gift. Thanks for posting this very moving song by a great group and lead singer.
I actually got into them back in August last year; I was lucky to see them in October. Glad you & your wife enjoy them - I think so many people really like and appreciate them. In my opinion, they are so much better than today's country groups. Enjoy the Mavericks and the rest of the summer.
Even when they do a "sad" song, you still end up smiling, because you can see how much happiness and enjoyment they all get out of performing their wonderful music. I just adore them.
As probably the only one in my generation who listens to the Mavericks, I'm proud to be the Maverick who dares listen to a band that advances music with an incredible genre-defying and beautiful touch
KevinMichaelMichael I'm jealous. I'm 67 and missed a couple chances to see them, damn it. Raul's voice with the perfect band. I did see Roy Orbison at the Beacon in NYC about six months before he died. Raul should combine his songs, with those of Roy and the Every Brothers. Sing on,brother!
Another exceptional performance by one of the best bands out there to date! Mixed with beautiful woman in a dim lit night club and you have found The Mavericks!
Ernie olver ..I am a music lover .I have been that way all of my life but the mavericks are fantastic when I hear them on my B&O headphones there sound is fantastic I never stop listening to them...
Just heard this tonight for the first time. Man, I still love The Mavericks. Raul Malo’s voice sounds as great as ever. Like the ghost of Roy Orbison. Plus everyone just looks like they’re having FUN! Reminds me to smile more when I’m playing music with other people.
One of the best country bands out there. These guys are simply awesome and even better live. Raul Malo has one of the greatest voices this guy can sing Anything and cover almost anybody's song. Love the Tex Mex style that they also do so amazing. A must see band or at best listen to anyone of there great cd's
