Like I said, I'll admit when I am wrong! I know 90% of you weren't going over the line, but I couldn't make this video without mentioning the negativity as well. Enjoy the video!
lmao. imagine telling your community the thunder is the better team, when seedings doesnt matter in the playoffs. The better team is the one that wins a series, you say Thunder has more choices in offense, but dallas has nothing but spot up shooting in the first half of the season heavily relying on 3s. Now they are a lob threat, a post up threat and a rim threat along with the shooting. So stop spouting nonsense when youve only watched them this playoffs and less than a 3rd of their regular season games.
Well, as a Mavs fan myself, I’m honestly tired of people jumping on someone for a bad take or whatever. No reason to dog someone over it. Whether you change your opinion on the team, the series or whatever is your business. Disagree with what they say and move on. Keep doing what you do bud, we’ll see how well you saw what you did before this when all is said and done.
Your anti-Mavs takes this season were sustained and based on a very poor understanding of the team and its players…if you make money trolling people to make them mad enough to give you outrage clicks and engagement then don’t play victim when you get what you wanted…cry harder bro 😭
hey Tucker, as a Mavs fan, we do not claim that fan. No reason to insult you because you had a bad take. It’s all love from Dallas, every fan base has their hecklers but we are better than that!
I agree, I love nothing more than someone who can be accountable and own up, but he wasn't wrong in his thinking originally like it's defensible but he didn't shy away. Love this channel man.
@@mrimpala11 imagine working on something for the sake of working it. doing something for the sake of compliance, thats how it feels to play on a losing team, it isn't about how hard it is, its just stagnation of a player's skills.
I don't think PJ was really trying in Charlotte cause there was nothing to play for Now that he's in Dallas, his home town, he's got a reason and he's putting that effort on defense
While i think your take in the og trade video was wrong, i said it at the time, the insults you received from it is unacceptable. They are not real mavs fans only twitter goblins. That being said please keep doubting the mavs, we seem to do better when it happens 😂. Keep up the good content as well
I want to the mavs to beat the thunder just so I don’t have to see that god awful commercial anymore. “What a pro wants, what a pro needs.” That shit needs to go.
Looks like average okc fan. They probably sent few to make mav fans look bad... I mean Luka sucks screams in OKC arena kind of seems familiar to that tweet.
Brudda, there’s no shot the Thunder look like the better team so far. SGA is a blessing for them this series. I feel like those are some bad notes you have there 🤣. I give non Mavs fan commentators some grace though because you guys literally seem to have brain stagnation when talking about the Mavs. The Mavs fans have been seeing this type of play since March. Enjoy watching the Thunder drop game 4 too. AAC is an extremely tough place to win right now.
Logically?! So the logical take is OKC cause their team isnt centered around two players? Even though OKC is centered around one...lol! Super logical, and logic wouldve told you we have far more players getting their numbers than OKC. But like all these haters, Dallas keeps shutting them up.
I respect that you came out to admit that. I feel like your emotions with Dallas getting Kyrie from your nets just put negative outlook for anything Mavs did
Well to be fair people been hating on OKC all season not to mention they over achieved and nobody won a single award once this season is over nobody will be talkn about them kudos to the Mavs tho for getting over the hump
I appreciate you owning up to a bad take. Although to be fair, Gafford and Washington came from two bad franchises, so it is easy to understand where you were coming from. The thing about these guys is that they Complement Luka and Kyrie perfectly, and that is why they are doing so good in Dallas with two of the best lead guards in the game.
My only problem is that it seemed like you were putting your opinion without really watching the Mavs. Sure you might of gotten your takes from highlights or “pundits”, but anybody who actually watched the Mavs could tell you how insanely bad Grant Williams was.
Can't blame you for being skeptical, this Mavs team has really blossomed to things most of would have never imagined. Hell even Luka and Kyrie have stepped it up when it comes to their defensive game in these playoffs. Big shout out the the Mavs FO for actually knowing what the team needed.
As someone who's enjoyed your content for a while, and a Mavs fan. I've been waiting for this video, You're one of the few objective NBA youtubers and here's to you, salud 🍻
Not tryna be like that or anything, but it feels like every other episode you’re talking about how hate comments dont get to you and you constantly feel the need to address that you arent bothered by it. For one, it makes it seem like you are in fact bothered by the hate, since you address it so much, and two, people are probably gonna keep firing away if you keep saying it isnt an issue. Just my thoughts on the matter
Hahaha man, some of you people are fucking wild attacking him for his SPORTS TAKES, ya sometimes I think he's off, but that's OK, it's sports, passion runs high, I like this dudes content, everyone relax a lil. Keep it up my man!
I love your content as a Mavs fan. You always give interesting and honest takes. ❤️ Im 100% sure that those idiots who dissed you are in a huge minority with us. Keep up the good work!
A lot of good defense is just effort and team work. You can look like a terrible defender if you have no one to help you like people wrongly blamed Gobert for when he just had no one to help him and kept being left as the last man alone because someone got blown by again and again. They’re playing good team defense and locked in.
I said it under your Video after the trade, I say it again here. You are just looking at the surface if it comes to Washington. Washingt was also a good defender in Charlotte, playing NEXT TO a good defensive Center. Marc Williams and Washington was a great defensive FP/C combination. But Washington also had to play a ton of minutes at the 5 with Williams out, hence why his defense was bad. In Dallas he plays basically every minute next to a good defensive big. Hence why his defense is good basically all the time. Please, your channel creates enough money to hire a stats guy who can look into advanced metricks and lineups, if you are not willing or able to do so. It was never a question if Washington would work defensively for me. The question was how will his offense transistion to the Mavs, knowing that for the most part his usage rate will go down. And for the first couple of months... it didnt look good. Kidd (and probably Luka and Kyrie) now made a point giving him more touches, if he is hitting his first view shots. And right now, everything is clicking for him. This is the version I was hoping for. A true 3rd option and a good switchable defensive wing!
Mavs fan here... The national media gets the Mavericks wrong so often and then doesn't address it after. Thank you for first talking about the Mavericks but then revisiting your statements and pulling up receipts because I feel like this doesn't happen often
The trades of PJ and Gafford has been huge. They used to live-and-die with the 3pts shooting and weak on defense. After the trades they’re not as good shooting-wise but they are a lot better defensively. They’ve become a better team through addition by subtraction.
Mavs fan here. I've always been a PJ Washington fan but I wasn't super high on the trade at the time because I felt like any other team in the league would have gotten that trade done without giving up a first. Gafford was a steal though so I wasn't too mad. Now, it feels like we underpaid. Also, thank God this year wasn't on Kuzma's timeline.
They want to send multiple defenders at Luka and Kyrie leaving a lot of space for the other players. And even sending multiple players at the two stars isn't really working. Luka and Kyrie are so good that they still get their numbers even with all the defenses focused on them. I've been saying this since the Mavs got rolling after the trade deadline that there is something brewing in Dallas... And it is something wildly special. We'll see how far it goes, but there is that special trust in your teammates that can certainly create extremely good outcomes and it all starts with the stars not hogging all the shots and worrying about their own stats all that much and being willing passers and making plays for teammates. It is an exciting time to be a basketball fan right now...
The biggest surprise with Washington is his defense. God damn, who thought he is this versatile defensively. He can guard on switches, terrific off ball defense, and he has guarded harden, kawhi, Paul George, shae, jaylen Williams, almost basically any explosive perimeter scorer, and never has he looked mismatched. Who would've thought of this, if you watched him over the years in Charlotte, even in the regular season with the Mavs when he was traded. Biggest surprise for me so far in the playoffs. 3rd best player for this team. The glue guy that connects everything for this team. The timely shots are just a bonus
I really hope the thunder and thunder fan base don't get discouraged people are getting real disrespectful now that their losing this season is a win win for us I think a lotta people have forgotten we not supposed to be here so I commend them for overachieving and proving everyone wrong well get better and come back next year
I see this series going 6 for Dallas. Dallas wins at home, OKC takes game 5 and Dallas closes out in Dallas. Of course, Kyrie could keep his undefeated close-out games record alive and take over in Game 5. (He is currently 13-0 in close-out games.)
People who don't make RU-vid videos or offer their opinions regularly to a large audience need to try it... It's easy to get defensive when our opinions are wrong, so props to you for staying humble and respectful.
The Mavs made the best mid-season trades. They picked a big man alongside the rook, offloaded Grant Williams and the Curry brother, and PJ was crucial to distributing the offense. Now, they have the size to challenge anyone, and Luka and Kyrie have less load on their shoulders.
If The mavs when the series, it will be the second straight year that the 11th seed from the previous season, makes it to the Western conference finals.
I said it before the trade deadline, OKC needs to trade for AD. They have too many bench pieces that don't quite fit along with some picks. AD and Holgrem up front makes it easier to compete with bigger bodies. Lakers need to wake up and realize its time to think towards the future.
People that resort to name calling are just bitter lol. But I don't know how you can look at this team and think OKC is the better team. Going into it you could say they're better coached but just matchup based Mavs have the better players IMO: Luka = Shai (you could argue one over the other, I would pick Luka) Kai > Jalen DJJ > Giddey (this series anyways) Lively < Chet PJ > Dort BENCH Gafford > Jay Wil (this is close) THJ < Isaiah Joe Josh Green = Aaron Wiggins Exum < Cason Like when 4 out of the 5 starters are better than what OKC is rolling out and they're all playing 36+ minutes, it's going to be tough.
SGA is the only big-time scorer for the Thunder, and he is not getting much support on the offense because of the Maverick's defense. If Luka was at 100% health this series would be a blowout already. The other real problem the Thunder have is that they don't have enough defenders to match up ono on one with Luka, Kyrie, and PJ. Someone is going to matched against a weaker defender and it just a matter of the Mavericks taking advantage of the bad matchups. You are however correct about the western conference finals, both of the other teams have even big, better defenders. Basketball is not just about three-point shooting and dunks; you can be beaten if you give up too many offensive rebounds, make too many turnovers, and can't play strong defense.
I think the turnovers really hurt us more than anything this game (OKC) A few calls and a couple less turnovers I think this is 2-1 our way. Chet needs to be more aggressive as well. He didn't start looking to score until the 4th
The thing that has been surprising for me is how much the Mavericks size has bothered the Thunder. Its not 2002 anymore, size shouldn't be this big a factor when you have a team with younger, more talented athletes but it has been. Dallas is bullying OKC off the court
While I am a Dallas fan, I had no issue with you being more negative about PJ Washington. It almost looked at the start of his stint with the Mavs that you were right, as it took him a while to be settled into the team and his scoring specifically wasn't great for quite some time. What I didn't know (and maybe you as well) was that PJ Washington really wanted to play in Dallas and this also shows in the effort he displays on the court. None of the Mavs defenders lack effort, but his energy is just a little bit higher. This is similar with Derrick Jones Jr, who is also all over the court on every possession, offensive and defensive. Having those 2 guys as starters makes such an insane difference, they are both really versatile long defenders that also have high offensive upside. I like Washington a bit better in the versatility of his offensive game, having the consistant short flipshots and (as we can see now) a more consistant 3 point shot to go with his rim gravity. These guys can be a bit overtaxed at some points, just because they exert so much energy everywhere and generally guard the best guys on the opposing team, to ask them to provide a big scoring lift is probably not something you can do every game. Just finishing a couple of plays should be the basis on which they can build. On the other hand, certainly almost nobody expected Luka to be less effective in the playoffs, a lot of that having to do with injuries, of which he currently seems to have several, in addition to getting banged up seemingly every game. This is the main reason these guys have to step up so much. Kyrie on the other hand is playing more as a facilitator, trying to get everyone going, before he slowly integrates his own scoring into the game. Once he gets going though, he seems unstoppable, playoff Kyrie seems like a real thing as he seems to be able to turn it on whenever it is needed.
You make some strong takes and when one does that sometimes they will be loudly wrong. That was the Case here but props to you for owning up to it. I didn't agree with you about the trade at the time so it's good to be vindicated
OkC is a great young team that lacks the size to get through Dallas, Denver, and Minnesota. Not saying they will lose the series to Dallas, but getting to the finals seems like a long shot this year.
People taking personal shots is uncalled for. I think what mavs fans are angry about is the disrespect luka and the mavs have had all year. First luka just had one of greatest seasons all time who should have been mvp but was 3rd. When he scored the most efficient 73 point game in history he didn’t get love but used defence as an excuse. He didn’t even move up the mvp ladder.Mavs have been disrespected all year calling our defence average, luka and kyrie don’t gel or defend and we had an easy schedule etc. now we’re proving all the doubters wrong. We’re sticking up for our team that’s constantly disrespected.
110% respect for owning up to the PJ take but like everyone could see that grant Williams was such a negative on both sides of the floor ( for Dallas ).
They just need role players to keep stepping up. Doesn't matter which one it is, as long as one of them does when the team needs it. I agree with your previous comments, I do not like their roster construction. If it works it works, that doesn't mean they did everything correctly or are beyond criticism. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Right now they are winning and I'm interested to see where it goes.
Tucker I kinda stopped watching for a little bit and this new style of content has really made me engaged again. Keep it up you lovable loaf of bread 😂😂
I was coming for you thinking you were trying to hype the Mavs without admitting prior takes but I can respect admitting you were wrong. This is all I ask for people with a platform who made a wrong take prior.
Dude every metric you look at shows oh was a solid to good individual defender in Charlotte, the team numbers were ass cause the rest of the team is garbage
