Milwaukee had a powerhouse defense when they won the title in 2021. Since then they have changed the roster but not for the better because they traded away their peripheral defenders. This team should run it back because that have no place else to go but I don’t anticipate a championship run.
The funny part about the second apron is that you cannot send multiple players in trades and almost everyone have not understood how impactful this restriction is going to be, the whole idea of packaging salaries is dead as soon as you step foot in the second apron
Dear Milwaukee fans, I wonder how it must feel to trade 3 1st round picks for a past his prime point guard to compliment your other 2 All-stars only to have those two best players out with injuries just when the playoffs come around. I would hate for people to start to slander your team for the turmoil that surrounds the team on and off the court. I can only imagine if people were to start discrediting the championship your star player Giannis just because he had bad injury luck ever since. I wish I could somehow understand what y'all must be feeling right now. Sincerely, A former Nets fan
The Bucks did kinda win a fluke title, and Giannis hasn't proven he can be healthy again for a full year since. The Bucks prime as a team has past, its about whether they trade Giannis next year or the year after, or the year after. But teams don't come back from having zero trade picks and an aging team. Its never happened
There has to become a new paradigm for NBA teams. You just can't keep paying your top players so much that they prevent you from filling out the roster. It seems like this is the storyline for most every team. It is getting very old. There need to be some institutional changes. Perhaps teams would need to be limited in the percent of the salary cap they can spend on a given player. This means less freedom for the individual player, but it would strengthen teams and that would please fans and make for a better product.
You guys played a wonderful series and it was a very fun continuation from the regular season! I hope we can make this a long running rivalry because it'll be very fun to see what we can do with everyone healthy on both sides.
@@nicholasrose4448 Giannis was injured last season. Khris got injured in 2022. And Giannis got injured in 2021. Giannis has gotten injured in the playoffs ever since 2020.?
Their situation is much more fixable than someplace like Phoenix or the Lakers. But they never should’ve fired Adrian Griffin. That still makes zero sense to this day.
It sounds like he was a good basketball coach but he was horrible to work and play for. Reports said people who were on the coaching staff hated and players hated playing for him apparently. Super weird situation
@@josuesimplice3859 I wonder why. He was set to be the eastern conference all star coach. Like, you’d think the people around him who don’t like him would remember that a championship was the ultimate goal, be adults and swallow their pride about being offended.
@@josuesimplice3859 this is something I'm working on in my own life. Both at work and especially socially, it doesn't really matter how right you are but how you communicate with others. If you can't do the latter properly you are dead... which is tough if you're neurodivergent but uhh gotta try your best (:
Yall are so wrong its crazy. He wasnt a good coach. Yes, their record was good (30-13) when he got fired, but their schedule was much easier and their wins were just based on Dame and Giannis carrying and using their talent to win, and even then, they were so poorly coached that they were struggling to beat the Pistons, the Wizards and the Nets. It doesnt make sense to yall cuz you didnt watch Bucks basketball. To have a rookie coach for a team with championship aspirations wasnt the right path to take. And btw, he was going to be allstar coach, not because he was good, but because the coach is chosen depending on the seeding of the teams, since Boston was 1st in the East, it shouldve been Joe Mazulla but he already was the AS coach last year, so they went to the 2nd seed coach (Bucks) and it they chose Adrian Griffin
The playoffs have been crazy. I am in my 20s I messed up my shoulder getting out of bed and I am healthy. Just something popped sharp pain and now it hurts to raise my hand rotate my arm and a couple other things
I get that they want to retire Khris. But he's been regressing with injuries and age the entire time. They need to think about moving a few players now. They need depth and consistency and they didn't even have it in 2021.
It wasn’t possible. The amount of people who open their mouths about what should have happened might need to research how trades and free agency work. Middleton was either sign or allow to leave for free there were zero other options.
WTF ARE YALL TALKING ABOUT??? LMFAO. KHRIS AVERAGED 27 PTS IN THE PLAYOFFS HOLIDAY CANT EVEN SCORE 10 EFFICIENTLY. PAT BEV AVERAGED MORE ON BETTER SHOOTING.
A list of Milwaukees mistakes leading to them digging their own grave -firing Mike Budenholzer (I know he sucked at making adjustments but still) -trading Jrue and Grayson Allen for Dame who doesn’t fit the defensive identity Milwaukee has been known for -signing Malik Beasley to go along with Dame in what is the worse defensive backcourt I’ve seen -and lastly hiring Doc Rivers😂 Congrats Bucks FO this is what happens when you bend over for your star player instead of sticking to what made you great. Have fun in a few years when Giannis eventually fucks off
Bucks are fine. Got a little unlucky this year. It happens. At the end of the day only one team wins the championship. Giannis just signed an extension so you got him and dame for a minimum of three years. I think what they really gotta do is start turning their young guys into decent role players
@springheeledjack165 Wrong spring!😂 The Bucks own their first round pick this year, and Portland 2nd round pick, which should be considered anothed first-round pick.
Some players they could look for would be Malcolm Brogdon, Immanuel Quickly, or Nic Caxton. Some players they should look to move are pat bev, Jae Crowder, or Danilo Gallinari. Low key gotta give Marjon Beauchamp more minutes
They need a competent 3&D starting level shooting guard and a solid backup center that can stay healthy and grab more than 4 rebounds a game. If they address those two things I think they’ll be alright. Klay Thompson, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Isaac Okoro would be some solid options at the 2. At the backup 5 you search for Isaiah Hartenstein, Andre Drummond, Christian Wood, and Mason Plumlee.
2:31 - these cap sheets should have, in brackets, (percentage of the cap). This way, no matter what their salary is, you always, have a reference point. And if a salary crosses over into next huge cap spike, you can an (%*) just so you know.
I dont think giannis and jrue were buds. Lol. Giannis could be the next KD.. giannis want to win bad but it doesnt have to be necessarily have to be in milwaukee. If i was the bucks GM, i'd measure that desire to stay soon and trade giannis out west if he gives any inkling of a trade demand coming. That way he can get fair value. Once the giannis domino falls, i'd start getting value for the other pieces too. Its not their time anymore in the east. Its the celtics, pacers, knicks, cavs and magic's time. What you'd want to do as a GM is get ahead of the curve and start to rebuild when its not your time and then be ready to pounce with assets once those teams currently on top start to age out or they implode. If they do end up trading giannis, a young star in the making has to come back that has stronger loyalty. Avoid headcases like ja or street clothes like zion. And of course get picks. Lots of them. I'd check with okc about chet and j-dub or houston with sengun and j.green.
I honestly felt when they traded for Dame, the cost was too big, and Dame's decline is gonna be too fast for them to really compete. They are in this situation until they rebuild off trading Giannis (which would take another year or two)
@@theetruth8626 They can't deal Dame for anything as good as Dame and same for Lopez. This isn't a solvable solution when Philly has Embiid/Maxey/PG13 on their team and the Celtics are the Celtics, and the young teams keep getting better and Giannis seems to age very fast
Also they traded for Dame since Giannis kind of pressured them. Giannis is about to turn 30 so he about to enter the back half of his his prime years. He signed an extension but with how the Bucks roster is looking which looks like in a few years they might need to rebuild. Wouldn’t be shocked if Giannis does ask for a trade a year or two years from now
@@jalenjohnson0339 Yes but that was a mistake to listen to Giannis. I get every star now has Lebron power over his team, but when stars start looking for "another star" next to them it almost never works. Also, Giannis didn't really sign an extension with the Bucks. He signed a max extension with the NBA basically, because players can ask out whenever they want now. Bucks would have been better off selling off everything including Giannis and restarting and hoping to find a star that trusts the process of building a contender. Instead they went for the easy choice and it ended up being the wrong choice
I think it just takes time for a move to work, think about the Lions, it took year's for Goff and the Lions to work out. It is RARE for a move to work out with a new team immediately. A Stafford Rams and a Kawhaii Raptors are incredibly rare.
Idk how this all works but im pretty sure bucks will be a 2nd apron team next year, and if they are they cant consolidate salaries to bring in a bigger salary it has to be a 1:1 match if you are a 2nd apron team
Doc Rivers needs to go, but no. This team's window isn't even closing, much less closed. I think there's an argument that they need to try to figure out how to replace Brook Lopez, and they might want to bring in a more defensively minded wing and drop Khris Middleton. Otherwise, this team is basically perfectly crafted to fit around Giannis's playstyle and everybody can perform their role pretty well. This year, Giannis AND Dame got hurt. That's it. Maybe they could prioritize rest a little more during the season and make sure they're rested for the playoffs. Otherwise. they just need to run it back, but with a better coach.
As far as the lineup is concerned it wasn’t just Jrue for Damian it was also swapping in Malik for Grayson. If Allen was the player he was for the Suns and Jrue was himself the Bucks would have been better than this team. Even keeping Bud might have worked better (though that wasn’t the worst, sloppiest personnel move). Poor decisions/execution by the front office and ownership at the beginning of the season and injuries to superstars making insane amounts of money at the end was what kept them from advancing out of the first round.
Im just saying man. What else do the bucks have? Giannis is him. Dame doesn't wanna be there, lets all be real. Middleton is semi washed but still solid like this past game and brook is getting up there. They have no real rising young talent. Like think its just time. + doc rivers is your coach😭. just reset. They can fr have a okc rebuild by just sellin
@@Footballprodz11i meann no but his talent is gonna get wasted there bro. West is younger and has more talent. C's not going anywhere. Pacers / Magic just gonna get better. Jus saying
It hurts to say, mainly because I spent the whole season rooting for and defending these guys. But we need to blow up the bench. Keep Bobby, and focus on the young guys. Trade PC, Beasly, Crowder, even Bev. I was all for keeping Bev around, but he threw a ball at a fans head. That is UNACCEPTABLE full stop. Ajax, AJ Green, and Marjon are the future of this team and they need to get experience early in their career. They 100% proved themselves this season as our best defenders, and they're full of the youthful energy this team is desperately missing.
@darklordphantom4870 not in love with doc ad our HC but we stuck with him for a while , but other than him the roster is perfectly fine , Dame and giannis is a great duo , just gotta give them time to learn to play together
Bucks have their 1st this year and their 2031 1st. Brook, Bobby and Pat C. (When combined with the other 2) are very tradable contracts. People said dame and khris were old and washed and those 2 were the only guys who showed up this series. People are completely overreacting to the bucks. Dame and Giannis gonna get a whole offseason to get chemistry. Btw anyone criticizing Doc don’t know what they’re talking about. He coached an awesome series and did what he could with the garbage roleplayers they had
TJ McConnell alone doubled up the Buck's bench scoring. This is a bench problem in a big way. Giannis, Dame, and Khris are going to be fine. BP coming off the bench would have been fine-ish. Brook is a good compliment to Giannis, but without Giannis. . . Lets just say Brook has a very tradable contract. Beasley, Crowder, Gallinari, need to be walking. Marjon is tradeable or maybe playable (they could use his youth) The Bucks need a bench reallignment and maybe a more mobile defensive big. Other than that I think they can run the big 3 back and probably do well.
bucks should blow it up while they have high value in both giannis and dame, and can still squeeze some value out of lopez and guys like pat bev and bobby portis
The Bucks real problem all season is their role players are scrubs. Connaughton, Beasley, and Crowder are unplayable. Lopez gets hunted on defense by athletic teams. Bobby is inconsistent and not a good defender. If they had better role players, they easily could've won this series. You can't advance in the playoffs if you have too many guys that can't play or aren't consistent enough.
As a Mavs fan, they should snag Beasley and Crowder if they'll have the chance. At least Beasley is arguably better than THJ and for less money, and younger.
Yeah, I think too many things happen for them this year Firing a coach, even though he had a winning record was pretty suspect . Hiring doc rivers, which that one is a self-explanatory. Giannis becoming slightly a diva this year which that was surprising. Getting Damian Lillard about two years too late, also he was going through a little bit of depression and a divorce so horrible timing. And getting absolutely zero 3 and D wings at the trade deadline, like wtf was that?
There is no way Pat Bev, Jae Crowder, and Beasley is making the same as Thanais! Those r key rotation players. Thanais gets garbage...... sometimes! That's ridiculous🤦🏾♂️
they have tried to avoid the Miami Heat team by dropping to 3rd place in the eastern conference standings but unfortunately they are still eliminated in the first round of the 2024 play offs
you gotta trade kris middleton as this point. If anything hes more likely to opt in to that player option rather than not cause with his age and clear regression hes not getting a better deal then that. Just gotta take the L and not get much back maybe a pick and get a mid tier free agent SF/SG like demar, malik monk, bruce brown maybe or saddiy bey/ buddy heild
They need a bench. This is similar to the Mavs last year. Now look at them. Hopefully the Bucks can bounce back because I want to see a Giannis v. Jokic NBA finals.
what are we doing here? dame was playing on one leg, giannis didn’t even get to step on floor… run it back add wing defender an youth they have a whole offszn to get right (doc dame and giannis)
Its not as bad. Hey they played a good pacers team without Giannis.. what do you expect.. this is not a weak team, pacers are good and agile.. so losing against them without your best player is not as bad.. Unless they lose to say a Magic team, or Hawks..
Bucks are not that bad like my lakers but how long will they go on with the same old guys Middleton and Lopez supposed to be traded 2 years ago and mixed it with young guys
