“I don’t like new guitars, but out of the box, this is absolutely perfect. All the stuff on a new guitar that I always have to try to fix, is already done here. Out of the box. Thank you, Paul.” - Joe Walsh
The McCarty family of guitars is born from passion and precision: built passionately to embody vintage soul and appointments while utilizing the precision of PRS’s modern manufacturing techniques, so you can have the best guitar we can make right out of the box. Featuring a bound, 22-fret, 24.594” scale length Pattern Vintage neck and a slightly thicker back for enhanced tone and sustain, the McCarty 594 Singlecut has been meticulously spec’d. This Joe Walsh Limited Edition builds on these specifications, adding a Brazilian rosewood fretboard with stainless steel frets to deliver incredible playability and soulful, vintage tone. Additional personalized appointments include Paul Reed Smith’s handwritten signature on the front of the headstock, and Joe Walsh’s signature on the backplate of each guitar.
The McCarty 594 Singlecut Joe Walsh Limited Edition features PRS 58/15 LT+ pickups, which offer exceptional clarity, focused midrange, and vintage character. Whether you are looking for rich, authentic humbucking tones or nuanced, sweet single-coil sounds, the McCarty 594 Singlecut can seamlessly master both sonic territories thanks to these pickups and push/pull coil taps on the tone controls. This electronics layout, a few key specifications, and PRS craftsmanship combine in the McCarty 594 Singlecut Joe Walsh Limited Edition to create an instrument that plays in tune, is intonated the entire length of the neck, and feels like a guitar that you’ve been playing forever.
“Joe’s endorsement of the McCarty 594 Singlecut Joe Walsh Limited Edition means the world to me. We work very hard to keep pushing the guitar-making craft forward without losing sight of its rich history. The McCarty models have always embodied that, and to have a player like Joe Walsh say we’ve nailed it is heartwarming,” said Paul Reed Smith.

No. most peoples hearing is shot from LOW END SUB & SUB BASS FREQ's VOLUME in bass gutars and KICK drums. That is what the HEARING DOCTORS ALL SAY ! And alot of BOOMER GEEZER guitar players have to play DRY and LOUD to HEAR ANYTHING ! Horrible DRY and LOUD ! Eric Clapton has the same problem as do Pete Townsend and Jimmy Page. The ONLY player with good hearing from those days is Jeff Beck who religiously turns his bass EQ to ZERO on his amps especially the LOUDER he plays ! Lots of players confuse LOUD with BASS and ruin their and their audiences HEARING !

Paul and the team achieves the excellence we all should strive for in life. The only guitar I’ve ever kept over all my years of playing is my PRS, and I will leave its side before it leaves my side.

One of the few times on video where Joe was spot on and did not have a drink 🥃 before the Video shoot and guitar demonstration. And his voice was clear and not slurred.

Joe sounds like he can't even speak, but what he says is absolutely spot on , and so is his playing....

They surreptitiously spiked his Ensure carton with an anabolic speedball ..allegedly...PRS execs didn’t think they could finish the commercial otherwise...allegedly

8:27 ... every dog in the neighbourhood just started howling. My eardrums did a little dance. That guitar cuts like a blade. I can see why Joe would like it- it suits his style of playing, perfectly. That biting tone makes sure his solos and licks get heard above everything else, the dense mix of a live rock and roll band.

I have a beautiful gold top 2023 McCarty 594 Single cut. 8.0lbs. Once I changed out the pickups, it was great. The 58/15 LTs just didn’t cut it for me.
