@@Outlaw88 nope, Casey Kasem the famed Radio personality was a known vegetarian and demanded the character be one too, as early as the second season of Scooby-Doo Where Are You?. When Hanna Barbera did a toy deal with either Burger King or McDonald's in the 90s (I don't remember which) he refused to do the advertisement which led to the character's actor being replaced. He returned around 2002 when the studio agreed to make Shaggy Vegetarian again. In other words it's not new and has only NOT been the case for a few scattered years throughout the franchise's history
finding out mcdonalds doesnt construct the sandwiches for you is the biggest travesty since finding out the pizza hut triple treat box doesnt actually come in drawers
Feel like there's multiple rasons why, doesnt stop it from sucking. I think just the sheer calories in that last one in a single meal would create it's own PR nightmare
As a McDonald's employee... Peebs, you need Pepto and some home made veggie wraps for dinner tomorrow. 5 beer maximum. You'll be alright Dude. Take care.
Canada... Ya the training sucks... I think it's great. I've been a cook for 22 years. This is the best job I've ever had. Same minimum wage as the other places I worked, WAY less work and NO THINKING!!! (edit) HEY!! STUART!!! You even spell it properly!!! This is a rare treat.
As a McDonalds worker I found this video unironically entertaining and also none of us actually know how to make the surf ‘n turf at my location so you aren’t alone in not having instructions
The last scene I can fully understand. Whenever I have Mc Donals for lunch at work, those afternoons are twice as hard. And that's with normal Mc Donalds food. Can't imagine how eating this much of those mixtures would be like. Thank you for your service
I just picked up McD with a coupon. They announced their prices are going up. They've already brought a big mac combo up to nearly $10 and that's not with the price hike. Garbage food was fine when it was garbage prices. It's crazy now.
As an employee of McDonald's, I love this. The Menu Hacks are the stupidest thing McDonald's has come up with in years. Not only do the "Menu Hacks" barely save you any money (and in some cases cost you extra, at least at our store), people think that we're assembling these stupid monster sandwiches for them when there's no possible way we could fit the Land, Air, & Sea in any sort of packaging. Also the "Surf + Turf" is supposed to be voiced as "Surf plus Turf" not "Surf and Turf", which is just... ugh. EDIT: You got two Big Macs, Three Filet-O-Fish, and one of each McChicken probably because you asked for "All four hacks" and at lunch there's only three but you can get the Land, Air, and Sea with either McChicken
The intructions when we started the hacks said surf and turf could be pronounced either way. And really, if people think we're gonna make it for them, it's there fault. Advertisements made it very clear that the customer has to assemble the hacks. I do agree that it's impractical though. People used to order it anyway. Adding it to the menu doesn't really do much other than confuse people
@@cressothegrey4354 They didn't give us any instructions at our restaurant. I'm going of the fact that the deal in the app spells out "Surf plus Turf".
Late to this party. But I imagine that the belief that you were going to assemble it came from the fact that EVERY other fast food restaurant that has a "secret menu" assembles the food for you. So it's a natural assumption that McD's would do the same even if the advertisements say otherwise (likely in small font). Of course it was a borked concept to begin with but I do at least understand where people were coming from, this was officially sanctioned so you'd think there'd be more effort put into it.
I know fast food rarely sets well on people's stomachs, but it would be interesting to see someone do a video where they make them with higher quality ingredients.
I've seen this advertised so much. And at first, I had no idea what it was. I thought maybe it was one of those app-only menu items or whatever. But then, I started paying attention and realized they're just some awful attempt at 'expanding their menu' with labor that pays them... lol
The really sad part is realizing that so many other fast food places have already had this kind of thing for a long time now and they actually assemble the food for you (Arby's and In N Out are both pretty notable for their secret menus for instance,) and usually at worse it's a slight increase on how much you pay (not sure if McDonald's charges you full price for each item used or not, but it definitely defeats the purpose of a "hack" if they do.)
I tried the Land, Air, and Sea sandwich and the Surf and Turf, and they're not bad, but hard to eat, and hard on the guts. Hope you're feeling better after eating all that dude.
Mad respect to Peebs for going through all of those "meals" in the same day (except for the breakfast one) back-to-back, on a different note the Hashbrown mcmuffin and Mcdouble nuggets looked the most appealing
Part of me thinks this is just a way for them to get rid of 20 years of unsold fish patties. I bet they have half an ocean's worth of pollock in industrial freezers.
Somehow the sound effects give it so much more. Great job, Toasty! Also Austin is a beast for eating all that. I’m not surprised you felt horrible after.
If they aren't going to assemble the sandwiches themselves, then there isn't a point to these. You've basically been duped into buying two to three meals for the novelty of one assembled sandwich. I cant stand this promotion.
That's the point though isn't it? Getting customers to buy more food than they need, meaning more profit considering the food used to make these monstrosities are just regular menu items. It's absolutely pointless and wasteful but if they're only interest was profit then the promotion is working.
@@ArtzyZero it's kind of a half assed gimmick though, yes it's intended to do what you said but the public is looking at these like it's disgusting so it's kinda having the opposite effect and making people crave it less
It'd be too much to ask of the employees to assemble these, they already have a hard enough time. Plus it's clear in the ads the customer is meant to do the assembling.
Seeing the tarter sauce placement on that Filet and the fact I work at McDonalds I can confirm that the placement is on point with what I’ve witnessed. Either from being rushed of they were busy
Honestly the breakfast one is pretty much the most normal of the bunch, and also probably the most appetizing. Also helps that you don't need to order anything extra for it.
Before I watch the video, I would like to say that as a McDonald's employee, my general manager hates the menu hacks. Primarily because the items we do have are not very good. The only one we are not bothered by is the hash brown McMuffin, primarily because it's just a hash brown.
Me seeing the commercials for this: So McDonald's is just doing that "secret menu" myth as an actual part of the menu? Me knowing what it actually is: So McDonald's is just saying "We couldn't think of a new menu item just make your own" as part of the menu.
I work at McDonald's right now and the moment I saw the hacks in the breakroom, I thought of the waste of bread, IMMEDIATELY, also the sauce pumps are always jammed in one hole (there's 3) and it puts WAY too much sauce for even a half press. I always try to be careful and center the unclogged holes away but wouldn't you know, it shoots out because the hole suddenly unclogged and now it's on the box not the sandwich C:
I decided to get the Hash Brown McMuffin cause I didn’t have much time before work, and it was pretty good! All this other stuff, I don’t know how anyone could actually stuff them in their mouths, much less digest them. But if it tastes good to you, great!
Not sure if America has this probably not because they advertised "Sausage Mcmuffin with a Hash Brown." as a "Food hack." But in Australia they sell an item called "The Mighty McMuffin" where it's a Bacon, Egg and sausage mcmuffin with a hash brown. and you don't have to build it yourself
i love this kind of content from peebs all chilled out mellow puttin me in a good mood with the comentary and interesting idea mixin and matchin burgers wouldnt take a bite of the filet great vid hope to see other content like it in the future have a great day also
The music for the last two minutes of the video and randomly cutting to Somewhere Only We Know nearly had me in tears! I actually had to replay the last few seconds because I was laughing so hard
I’ve been “hacking” my McDonald’s orders since I was like 14. I put nuggets and Buffalo sauce on the bottom bun of a Big Mac and fries on the top bun. These official McDonald’s menu hacks do nothing for me
Looks fun! Gonna be honest though. As soon as the No More Heroes music came on it was super hard to pay attention to the video and not just jam out with the song lol
coming back to watch your content for the first time since I was like 12, I'm so glad your brand of humour hasn't changed at all, godspeed you glorious man
As someone who's watched the peanutbutterguy since around 2011, hearing a pain-induced "FUCK" was about the best thing I've heard all week. Love ya peebums
Your singing reminded me of one of my favorite episodes of South Park, the episode with the home shopping jewelry network :) You're always so entertaining!
@Peebs I just found you through this video, I followed your gaming channel when you were collecting all of the masks in LoZ: Majora's Mask. I think that’s wild.
I've almost never had problems with fast food but I usually have some once or twice a week. The chicken nugget one looked good. I'd just substitute ranch sauce instead of barbecue for that one. The others might have been good without the filet o' fish. I think if a person tried only one of those a day without the filet o' fish included, it wouldn't be that bad. Great video Peebs. Enjoyed it a lot.
I still make very basic McDonald hacks. The most common one is a McGangBang where you take the mcchicken patty and put it between the patties of a McDouble. The second most common is McNugget burger. Just a basic cheeseburger with 3 chicken nuggets on it. Super simple, easy, and both taste amazing.
I'm actually surprised that McDonald's acknowledged and even encouraged people to make the Land, Air and Sea Burger after being a secret item for so long.
The ending clip is the exact reason that, if I'm getting McDonald's at all, I get a medium fry and a cheeseburger. The smaller burgers usually in kids meals. Because that combo doesn't make me sick afterwards.
I'm glad that you've started using the music from Bully more often. That hash brown McMuffin looks pretty good. Also, as a point of order, chicken's can't _really_ fly. I'd say it's more like they can jump and extend their distance a little, like turkeys roosting in trees. Believe me, I used to raise Rhode Island Reds, and I attempted many experiments to try and get them to fly as a kid. Don't worry, nobirdy was harmed. Not until it was time to cull them, that is.
yooooo, toasty put rhythm thief music in this video. I knew it sounded familiar so I had to look it up. rhythm thief is a weird but fun game that really needs a sequel
Also, extra milk for coffee on the side costs money, but... cream is free for some reason. You can use the app to have a max of 20 items in your cart. One XL black coffee, 19 cream. They'll fill a small or medium coffee cup with cream for you. Put it in the fridge, have cream for your coffee all week.
best one to try in a pt 2 if you get enough suggestions is to combine a junior chicken and a mcdouble, and seperate the patties like last time, its actually pretty good! you could also try some foreign mcdonalds and other fast food if youre ever out of the country
My favorite McDonald's Menu Hacks are the Mc10:35 & the McGangbang. For the Mc10:35, you have to go to McDonald's at 10:35AM and order a Egg McMuffin with cheese & a McDouble. You put the ham, egg, & cheese in-between the burger patties. The McGangbang is similar, however, you get a McChicken and a McDouble. You put the chicken patty in-between the burger patties.
The only mcdonald's hack i have ever done is the mc chicken and waffles. Where ya ask them to put a chicken patty on a mcgriddles bun and a side of syrup. When i ordered it the people behind the counter were hyped lol.
