The MCG Northern Stand was redeveloped by Grocon between 2003 and 2006, and was completed in time for the highly successful 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The redevelopment included: an all new Northern Stand, including the relocation of the MCC and re-exhibition of the enormous collection of MCC historic material; 55,000 extra seats; two new seating bays in the Southern Stand; an all new playing surface; one of the country's largest catering kitchens; extensive media and player facilities; corporate facilities; and two large digital scoreboards.
