I am so jelly. You have me looking all over Socal for one. OMG, you have to do the onions and pickles, plus a side of fries. Since you never know when your next McRib will be, I'd get 2 also.
So glad to see you eating this Adam. I've always enjoyed the McRib and since I always heard bad reviews about it, I kept it a secret to myself! So glad to see another "partner in crime" liking the McRib!
I say double up on the meat, onions and pickles and keep the same amount of sauce!👍👍 Also, if you want the fries to taste extra good, ask for them to be cooked well-done. Makes them crispier with a slight crunch.
“I eat a McNugget and I’m like why am I eating these?” LOL. So true. No other nugget tastes like McDonalds nuggets, like their fries and everything else. It’s a mystery ingredient we may never want to know about. 😬😂
It is hard to believe that the mcrib was actually initially introduced before mcnuggets. Mcrib was 81, mcnuggets not till 83. Glad to see they are still both available.
My husband worked on the team that developed the cheese that goes on the McRib sandwich. No, it wasn’t the same cheese that goes on the cheeseburgers! It had to be a specific flavor profile and size for this particular sandwich. McDonald’s sent them the meat, condiments and buns that were going to be used so that they could test each recipe exactly as it would be sold. He ate so many McRibs during that time he couldn’t bring himself to eat them when they came out in the restaurants. It was several years before he got one, lol! Btw they stopped putting cheese on it very early on.
They ought to call that thing the McMess. Oh and that’s funny, you ate a McRib and your foot was healed. Makes you wonder what really is in that thing. 😂
All of McD’s delectable delights seem to have an “I want more” trigger. Cokes, fries, Mac Sauce, McGriddles, etc, it doesn’t matter, whatever it is, it makes you want more of it!! Water Bottle Crush!!! It’s been a long, long time since you’ve done one!!! Thank You and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
What's so funny is that I had one yesterday 😂 I know they're messy, but I love them. Wish they would keep it on the menu, but I always look forward to November because its the month it comes back each year👍
During EXPO 86 in Vancouver they had a limited time version of McNuggets that were called Shanghai McNuggets that were served in a little box that looked like a Pagoda and served with the most Amazing Teriyaki Sauce .
Thanks Woo for taking one for the team! I have NEVER for taken of the McRib the name was enough for me back in 81 and when I found out that it had simulated bones, I just couldn’t. But maybe just maybe I might. McDonald’s fries, and somebody that’s work there please correct me but I think it’s only seven minutes that they go from good to garbage. I didn’t think there was anyone that did not eat them first. I guess so many years traveling in the band band and traveling for your work. You’re used to eating cold fries. In fact, they put the water on top of them man I would’ve had to gone back through and gotten fresh ones. The fish is my go to, easy sauce. Most of times I get the double. Next one you do by Adam, ask him easy sauce, double pickles, double onions you may start a new trend . Enjoy!

The last experience I had with a McRib was in 1982. My friend and I were driving back from the Outer Banks after a great day at the beach. We had stopped at McDonalds earlier in the day and my friend went for the McRib. I don't know if it was the heat of the summer day. My 72 Nova didn't have A/C other than manually cranking down the windows. But in the middle of a massive traffic jam on the beach road, my friend told me to pull over and they jumped out of the car and unloaded their McRib on the side of the road while hundreds of other beachgoers looked on. The McRib never had any appeal to me after that day.
My middle school in Maryland used to serve a McRib like thing in the late 80s/early 90s when I went there they called the Rib-a-cue which the McRib made me more nostalgic for than the McRib itself.
The way fast food burgers look when you take them out of the bag always reminds me of the burger place scene in 'Falling Down'. I like to add bacon too. Also we have it year round here in Germany :-).
In my entire life, I have never had a McRib. If I ever do, it will have to be w/o pickles (ew). BTW, fun fact, I attended the final show of Ozzy's original "No More Tours" tour in '92 @ Costa Mesa ... it was EPIC. Black Sabbath opened, fronted by Rob Halford. Whaaaaa? Ozzy followed with his full set. THEN, Ozzy reunited with the other 3 original members of Sabbath for a four song set. Much of this was featured on the "Live & Loud" video (I used to own the Laserdisc ... and still have the DVD). Rock on, Adam!
I love the McRibs. My favorite way to have them is to add lettuce, tomato and extra sauce on them. I just had 2 today. They are numbers 3&4 since they came back.
Back when I worked at Mcd's in the 80's, I would make a plain rib sandwich and use sweet and sour sauce instead. And on a side note, we would use the Big Mac middle bun and make french toast with it. Good times back then. We would also trade food at other fast food resturants, on our street, at closing time.
Adam, next time you go to McDonald's, try asking for a large ice water. Here in Texas at least, they only charge 25 cents. It will save you some money.
As much as I love the McRib, I wish that McDonalds would bring back the Cheddar Melt! My buddies mom worked for the place that handled all of the stuff McDonald's would put out. So we got to try EVERYTHING! The McPizza, the McSpaghetti, the McLobster which was really good. Even stuff they'd market overseas. Some of it, didn't make it past the testing phase but we got to try it. Happy Thanksgiving, Adam.
Adam…you can get the rib all year around if you wanted them. They are the exact same rib that is in the encore or banquet tv dinner in the grocery store frozen isles. They taste the same and come 6 in a box. Used to get them all the time
I seem to recall that when McDonald's first introduced the McRib, that there was some mention in advertisements about it being envisioned by the creator of the McNuggets. And it was *wildly* popular. I really liked your comparison of the McRib to goulash...perfect! Concerning your diet: "Greater is He who is in me, than he who is in the world". 🙂
Had one last night for dinner! My 2nd of the season! I was bummed to hear they were retiring it at the end of the season last year, was surprised that they brought it back this year.
I stopped at a Mc Donald’s in Evansville Indiana, in, best I can remember 1981 ish. I went through the drive through, the voice came on the speaker…”would you like to try a new rib sandwich we are going to release soon?” After explaining what it is I said heck yeah. So when she passed the bag out she gave a wad, I mean a wad of napkins like you would need to wipe an industrial spill. All she said was “you’re gonna need these” . She was right.
Adam, cutting out the soda is the way to go. I agree with you, it's unfortunate because it's perfect with meals like this. However, I have found it is one of the easier ways to cut out some of the bad stuff. The amount of weight I lost just cutting it out speaks volumes.

I recently became kind of addicted to the stuff, thinking diet cola was ok. I started waking up with awful headaches, so it clicked with me that it might be the soda. I started drinking natural flavored sparking water instead, which tastes much better and headaches so far have all but gone.
You notice they cleaned up California for the visit of the Chinese president. Where are all the homeless people? Isn't it strange that they just happened to bring the Mcrib back right when all the homeless people disappeared. Ever hear of soylant green? Every homeless person has a free government phone but people can't find the homeless people they know 🤔
Really got a great feeling of nostalgia from yesterday's video when Adam said woobraham Lincoln. Brings back memories of early videos. The bottle crushing large Marge, backroad travels etc.

They only do it when pork is on sale because the holidays.. turkey and ham are the best sellers so pork becomes cheaper due to supply in demand.. FYI Adam
I like my Mcribs without the onions. I also like to wait a few hours to eat them so that they're more firm and the barbecue sauce isn't so runny and a messy. I always order 2 at a time.
I used to order the McRib everytime it came back through the years. I can’t even handle the taste of a McRib anymore and I don’t know how I ever liked it. Ronald McDonald and the hamburgerlar would be upset with me.

It's got the consistency of any regular hot dog when you chew it, but without the casing. If you had a hot dog and slathered it in bbq sauce, it would taste pretty close to the McRib.
Your lucky. Last Thursday I went to Taco Bell and lost my Pepsi to my floor. I had to be a big dummy and put the drink between my legs. I never got the straw in. Depressing.

I recall reading an article that said the return of the McRib was purely economic. If pork belly prices reach a certian low value, McDonalds buys them up and brings back the McRib.
Those aren’t sesame seeds on the bun but rather cornmeal. They use the cornmeal on the raw bread dough to keep the bread from sticking to the pan during the baking process
