Jonghyun's suicide is due to the pressure and high demand of being an idol, and depression got the best of him. For Sulli, she was becoming too westernize and losing the Korean tradition, like not wearing bra and not addressing older men with proper titles, so the haters cyberbullied her. For Goo Hara, she was caught in a sex footage scandal, spread by her ex-boyfriend, and she was shamed by it from the haters. The haters in the K-pop world are vicious.

The three people mentioned in the video were all of IU’s close friends in real life. They are all idols as well but they were known to have a super close relationship. All three of them sadly committed suicide.

I do enjoy IU's music, there are many songs of hers which I love. Her sarcastic ones, I feel, are wonderful - she has a way of being savage in such a likeable and relatable way. But it should be said that IU is ALSO a prolific actress, having been part of MANY wonderful movies and kdramas. My personal favorite is her starring role in Scarlet Heart Ryou, but she was also in a more recent one called Hotel del Luna, which was also very good (though a bit frightening for me at times).

at last, one of the most genuine reaction I've ever watched! I cried with you hehe since I've been an IU fan for about 9yrs now, and I felt so sad when I saw her going through something like this. It's okay to cry though, she can do that with just her voice :-) ... and she's written some of her songs too. actually, I kinda modeled my own songwriting from her, since she writes about simple and honest things but hits you deep.. she's just so amazing.. and you must listen to her songs, you'll love them all ( and maybe react also to them too :-) ) just keep it going, this is so amazing.

IU is one of the most respected artist in Korea and she is an idol by most Korean idols I cling BTS, that’s how awesome she is. IU writes her own songs as well as produce and a great actress. You pretty much got the massage right away which is very impressive especially not understanding the language. I got it as soon as watching the MV and listening to lyrics and knowing IU and all her three friends who passes away, I cried. You should check out IU’s songs and I’m sure you will love them, it’s hard not to since she is an music chart queen in Korea, every song she releases, they hit number 1 chart. I hope to see more collaboration between IU and BTS since they are my favorite artists and both have kind hearts and very humble.

The below paragraph was my opinion before i saw the explanation video. It is a testament to IU's sincerity, and genius, that even without understanding the language, i sensed most of what she was trying to say. Her music has soul! That last expression is very powerful! Its like she wants to reassure her friends that she is happy if they have found peace, but then she realizes that they may be finally free, but she is never going to see them again, I think that is what the juxtaposition is about, the happiness of their memories, the celebration of their freedom, is all there. but she is time and again reminded that she is not going to see them again in reality. The dragon is Jonghyun because yong is korean for dragon, and the girl who is finally happy, bounding and leaping up to the bright happy orange sky of hope and joy (that she could not find before) is Sulli. So IU is kinda happy for them. She is sending them off and is describing this joy of their liberation, as well as the innocence and happiness of their memories with the color Orange. There is this almost loving maternal touch to her lyrics here..she's like "my dear are you finally at peace, go be happy...you will now never age. You will remain young and happy in my memory " But then again she comes back to reality, and thinks from her perspective and feels lonely, and a little mad at them for leaving her so abruptly. She is letting herself feel the selfishness of wanting them with her, and also the selflessness of wanting their happiness She says that it is a nightmare to be in so much pain when she is seeing them in her memories, but now that is the only place where she will see them now, so she doesn't want to wake up. I swear i could not bear to, so i did not read all the lyrics..just the music, her voice, her expressions, and the mention of the color orange...it made me cry. and i dont cry easily...i did not know jonghyun and still cried. Orange brings peace. happiness, and also there is some melancholy woeful nostalgia for the times that we have left behind. The people that were. The upbeat track is also IU's promise to her friends that she will live well for them, she will carry them in her heart, and make them proud. This woman is pure and genius!!
