The Marauder is probably one of the most well-known Battlemechs in the Inner Sphere. Designed as a new line of direct fire support Mechs in 2612 its main role on the battlefield revolves around delivering pin-point long range damage while also being mobile enough to press the attack if needed. Its main weaponry consists of two particle projector cannons and a torso-mounted Autocannon 5. Both weapon types are excellent at focusing fire and destroying components at range before the enemy could even think about retaliating. But even when engaged in close quarter combat the Marauder is not helpless. When pushed it can rely on its two Medium Lasers and its armored gauntlets. These massive forearms are sturdy enough to withstand heavy impacts and can be used to smash enemy Mechs into scrap metal. In general the Marauder was a huge success. Its superior firepower, the advanced electronics and a sturdy frame make it an excellent Mech for every battlefield situation.
The gameplay footage is taken from Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries and its various DLCs. Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries is a game about stompy Mech action. You take command of a mercenary company and try to grow your income, salvage Mechs and hire Mechwarriors. The game includes a campaign with a vast storyline.
The latest DLC is all about Melee Mech Combat. With new Melee focused weapons like hatchets, axes and swords you can dominate the battlefield in close quarter combat. Apart from a bunch of new Mech Variants a new Mech joins the ranks of Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries: The Hatchetman. This 45 ton Medium Mech can cripple enemies with its Autocannon and Medium Lasers at range just to close in and take components with its Hatchet.
The release of a new DLC called "Rise of Rasalhague" is already announced for January 26th 2023. As soon as it releases I will cover the whole gameplay experience, storyline, game mechanics and new Battlemechs that will come with the addon.
The gameplay is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story. I will review the weapon systems, battlemechs, show you how to build the loadouts and train your pilots and take a look at all the different mission types and upgrades of the MW5 Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC.
