Out of the 3,507 Medal of Honor recipients how many do you know? How many are talked about in history classrooms across the country? I'm ashamed to say I know of only a few & I only know those from the media who decided to make it a story. They should all be stories, talked about across the country, talked about for their service & purpose. They fought (& died or would have) for their brothers or something as simple as the freedom of me writing this comment. I shouldn't have to search out Medal of Honor recipients , it should be engrained in our memories & history. I am going to start telling my son about these heroes, making sure he knows why & how he has the rights & freedoms he takes for granted like we all do. To those who served, Thank You for your service & purpose in this world.

I want to meet one of these hero’s in real life one day. To thank them for allowing us to live. Nothing makes me more proud to be an American than these brave men.

Look no further than the woman that brought you to this world my man. Think about what she’s done for you and how much of it has gone unrecognized. That’s a hero! That woman has sacrificed more than anyone for you. Perhaps she and all good mothers deserve a Medal of Honor and appreciation.

Throughout my nearly 17 years serving in Civil Air Patrol I've had the exemplary honor of meeting many a people in uniform, even veterans from long forgotten wars such as WW II, Korea and Vietnam, but the highest honor would be to meet in person a Medal of Honor recipient!! Bravery, courage, gallantry, heroism and uncommon valor, they are some of the finest military personnel our country has ever known!!!

Every word you said is true, whether you are British or American, French, doesn't matter Bc they answered the call to arms and went Above and beyond the call of duty. All members of the military deserve our heartfelt thanks for their service

At the 47:16 mark, there is a picture on the left side of the screen. It's a picture of a young man named Dan Bullock, who wanted to serve his country so bad, he changed the date on his birth certificate to join the Marine Corp. 21 days after he arrived in Vietnam, he was killed in action, Dan Bullock was only 15 years old.

Such a touching program. Before I was born my uncle Frank Stone gave his life for me. He died in Brest, France August 1944. He is my medal of honor recipient. He was 19 years old. If the rioters looters and protesters realized the great price paid for their freedom then, maybe, they would not trample the memory of lives given to pay that price beneath their wayward feet.

One of the worst examples of someone being awarded The Medal of Honor was Douglas McArthur. He did nothing above and beyond the call of duty. He was given the Medal, because Roosevelt ordered him to leave the Philippines.

Peter Collier: Those who received the MEDAL did not "WIN the MEDAL", they "EARNED" or were "AWARDED" the MEDAL. I knew 3, Lt. Governor Nathan Gordon, Lt. Governor Maurice "Footsie" Britt, & Nicky Bacon. All 3 from Arkansas. They were the most quiet, humble, servants, yet also giants among man; men of high integrity, whom I am highly honored to have met in my life. Although they all 3 denied it, they really were heroes, who like all combat veterans, saved lives, by just doing their job. But these, they have just a little bit of extra strength, given by the LORD GOD YHWH which they used, to save even more lives & stop the oppression by the enemy who attempted to destroy freedom. These wonderful men were, when the need arose, became giants of men, REAL men. Those passed, "Sir, may the LORD GOD YHWH give your soul & spirit eternal rest!"

What's with Arkansas . . . is it the water ? One Bill Clinton evolved from Arkansas . . . ultimately became the President of the United States. He departed, gained the BA from Georgetown University. Upon his departure, he gained a Universities highest honor - Rhodes Scholar. I'm sure President looked for the chance to shake the hand, of each of these home state heros ! 🇺🇸

It’s the one medal that no man ever wants to have to earn, because I’m doing so, it likely means either you or your brothers in arms will die in the process. I’m absolutely no hero, just a guy that deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. These men represent what it means to be an American and honor the spirit of the men at Fort Henry that risked their lives under heavy British cannon fire that held up the rampart that the flag was on top so it wouldn’t hit the ground. The spirit of those men inspired the Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key.

Every interview ive watched of MOH recipients everyone of them stated they didnt think they deserved it, but they accepted it and wore it for the men who died and also who they served with. So for Teddy Roosevelt to demand he be given one makes him look like a grade A douchewad in my eyes.

Versace probably was captured because the Vietnamese he was advising ran away at the first contact with the enemy. A fellow army officer and MACV advisor told me that he never carried a firearm when on an operation because when the shooting started, he could take his pick of any weapon he wanted because the coward Vietnamese would throw down their weapons and run away. I spent thirty months over there and some of the close calls for me were caused by our supposed south Vietnamese ally.

As far as the war in the middle east, vietnam, cold war... A politician does not have the right to give that order.. The only being that has that right- is god himself.. Earth- we as people are forced into things that we don't belong in.. It's an average of an 80 year life span down here.. Getting involved in war games is just plain ridiculous. As people, we should be helping others as much as we can, serving god.. People on the planet are just trying to get by with medical-dental enough salary to put a roof over head and food on table... Retirement- the right to survival while on the planet.. We could all share in some luxery systems, but we are not getting anywhere..

Why..? Why turn something positive into an insult. Let us, as Americans as brothers and sisters, come together. Let's put down the political wall and understand that our values and our compassion is more important than political ideology. I agree our politicians are not serving us as they should. We are all still in the same boat.
