Really enjoyed your video. I stayed right off the square where Joan was burned. It was a super location, beautiful and lots of places to eat at night, There was so much to enjoy in this lovely city, We had plenty to do over a three day period. The Joan of Arc museum done really nicely as well.
Wow interesting! I was born and raised in Rouen. I no longer live there but my father still lives in the suburbs so I happen to visit the city every once in a while. Really interesting to see a place one knows so well with the eyes of an outsider. Did you know that the cathedral,of Rouen actually dates back to the 5th century AD? Not much is still there since two ulterior buildings have been built at the same location but in the crypt there are still a few remains of this antic construction. If people are fond of medieval churches, Rouen is actually the place to go in France since the city still have numerous churches dating back from the era. About Joan of Arc, there is a bridge in Rouen, the Jeanne D’Arc bridge which is located where the ashes were ditched in the riser Seine (yeah, I know, rough!). Anyway, I’m truly happy that you enjoyed the trip to the city. And you have my deepest apologies for French public bathrooms. Never try to use them in France, no French citizen would dare to use them either. I don’t know why we still have that awful places, it is a national shame here but we don’t really address the issue. Don’t know why. One final thing: there are many nearby places around Rouen that are worth visiting so feel free to rent a car and drive the area, you’ll be amazed by Normandy!
Thank you for sharing more of your beautiful city! (No need to apologize for the restrooms-- we know now to just go to a restaurant 😆) We stayed near Potigny and drove around Nornandy for a week and loved it all so much! Someday we'll definitely revisit - I still want to see where Richard the Lionheart's heart rests! (Missed it that day in the cathedral)

That's not the real market! This market is open most days. The big farmers market is in Place St Mark and is Friday Saturday and Sunday with the big day on Saturday.
The city is beautiful, but it was half-destroyed during World War II and then badly rebuilt in the sixties. The docks on the Seine River used to be nice and lively before the war, but now the river seine lost its shores. restrooms...don't even get me started. They're disgusting in so many places in france that i prefer to ask in restaurants they're only getting worse.
I agree 💯 about the restrooms! I could do a whole commentary on that subject... I'll never understand why they're so few, so often lacking all necessities (no running water OR paper?) and so often disgusting!
It's also true that there's no big statue celebrating St Joan in Rouen. Shame for murdering her. She was not burnt for heresy but for refusing to wear women's clothes. The Tour was a prison
