FILM DESCRIPTION:
Previously thought to be extinct, a massive creature attacks a deep-sea submersible, leaving it disabled and trapping the crew at the bottom of the Pacific. Honestly I don't think he was trying to comfort her over the bite marks. The whale bumped into the glass and it scared the girl, his intention was probably just to assure her that the shark was gone and that the bump was only the baby whale. Simple misinterpretation of words and context.

They've seen these things before already, albeit they know they're not supposed to be where they are, but they've seen 'em before, most of them got lucky to have it revealed so peacefully, especially seeing how desperately and depressed they reacted to the second one appearing, it seems to be meant to be viewed in the sense that they know they're safe inside there, while on that boat, well, 3 people had died.

Glass like that is pretty much indestructible doesn’t matter how strong a megalodons bite mark is it wasn’t penetrating that glass that’s for sure it’s made to withstand the water pressure which is stronger than the bite strength of any animal. That’s why the glass didn’t crack it’s made of too many layers hence why they weren’t really terrified

Their’s another one that’s a little smaller that came up with this one when the sub exploded and made a hole in the thermocline. They mistakenly thought the smaller one was the only meg after they killed it. Then found out the hard way that the real threat wasn’t killed

Of course there have been a lot (countless) of examples of people and twins knowing that something is wrong that there family is in danger. I've seen it first hand myself, a twin told me her right leg hurt really bad and she was crying even though nothing was wrong but an hour later I was told to tell her that her twin got in a car accident. Went to the hospital and they told us her right leg was crushed in a car accident and had to amputate it.... Blew my mind

the part where the shark is slowly approaching the glass was such a great use of the CGI. the first thought that there’s something approaching and then the shark’s entire face right up against the glass before it bites was very effective, and in my opinion one of the best parts of the movie.

It's straight from the original Psycho movie. The shadowy, suspenseful approach was as effective then as it is now. Even with all the fancy CGI, good movie shots still come down to the fundamentals.

I freaking love sharks and shark movies and when this came out I went to go see it. Honestly, I was surprised! Unfortunately, there are not very many good shark movies but this one just hit! I was not expecting and actual good shark movie as late as 2018, but here we are!

Shark attacks are very rare and they're usually accidents. They mistake us for their food and once they taste and realise that we're not their food, they usually don't attack anymore. Unfortunately, blood loss and shock kills a lot of people but it's just an unfortunate accident

Well... that would be more in line if they didn't know there was a Megalodon nearby, because they did know, when Jonas says, "it's okay, it's just a whale." He's not inferring the Whale is what made that mark, he's trying to calm them down as, some people were likely to be scared by the whale as per the intended purpose of it entering rapidly and making a loud noise out of nowhere, it's a jump scare, he's trying to calm them down, they already know there's a Meg, seeing the bite marks was proof enough.

Scur Reith That’s not really my point, it’s more about how distant the special effects feel when the actors clearly don’t know what they’re looking at. Same thing as when the whale hits the glass and the guy doesn’t even flinch. I don’t care how much prior knowledge of a megalodon they have, if it pops out of nowhere like that and is thrashing about, I expect a little more reaction than not at all, for tension purposes if nothing else.
