We never filled a pit silo in the rain in real life. But we have been halfway through filling one and gotten a rain. We went ahead filling after the rain past. When we have did that. All season long as we used the silage it had a two-inch to 4 inch bad layer of bad silage to deal with. Everything exposed to the rain goes bad while fermenting. I just thought I would throw that out in the event anyone cared.
I'd recommend instead of using a bucket for when you sell silage use a conveyor belt considering you will have so much of it. Also just saw the part were you were harvesting in the rain and DO NOT DO THIS, before the game just stopped you but in FS 22 you loose like 40% of the harvest if you harvest during the rain. And the additives give you 5% bonus, I think it mentions this in the help menu.
to harvesr in the rain.. you lose 50% of the crop.. no mather what crop it is.. done the testing.. for me i got 23k corn on a sunny day and only 11.5k on a rainy day on the same field.. same with chap.. 168k from a sunny day and only 84k from a rainy day.. done the testing on my test map.. the only crops you can harvest and not lose any yield are grapes, olives, patatoes and sugar beets...
Running the loader in the pit is the most stressful job when doing silage. You need to spread the silage 10-20cm thick and then compact it before next load is coming in. In order not to have the machine stuck against the wall you need sides little-bit higher then the center. Mastering making even layers is key. If you end up with a hole, you are in trouble since they are kind of tricky to fill in, due to the need of compaction and time pressure. I really miss working on farms.
Its especially stressful when the chopper is only 1 or 2 fields away and there's a heavy crop, I was never jealous of the man on the pit when there'd be 2 or 3 of us in trailers waiting to dump our grass and he was still pushing up the load from the last guy to dump.
Autodrive is out for fs22 already. It is the perfect tool for forage harvesting. You use the harvester. Set a course for the worker to deliver to the pit and come back to you and a course for the wheel loader to drive back and forth over the pit
Daggerwin you should buy the Pottinger direct drill again as it was just a glitch that when u drill grass the seed depletes instantly but when u drill grain crops the seed consumption should be normal hope this helps love the vids keep up the good work :)
Just an FYI, you can configure that semi trailer to slide empty rather than raise empty. That's why it's advertising "3 in 1" on the side of it. There's other ways to dump it.
Makes me cringe when he says he’s gonna expand the chicken operation (they’ve been nerfed, need to handle with a pallet fork now) and putting chaff in the silo (still hasn’t been fixed yet for him). Oh boy, when he catches up to 1.2. Lol
We harvest Olives starting with mid October and it goes all the way till mid December, I don't know why the game limits it only for October, seems forced and unnecessary considering the lack of thing to do in December in this game.
When you’re dumping your silage, instead of dumping it as you move, try to back in with the trailer and and dump it all at the end. That may make the job a little easier
Just bought the oil factory and the farmer‘s market. Saves all the travelling across the map and gets a lot more money for canola oil and sunflower oil.
Thx for the series, I enjoy watching every episode, I've noticed that the latest episodes are not in the series playlist. For those pallets that are stuck, you can update their position in the vehicles.xml file
so what ive seen some farmers do, is there are 3 people total and 2 trailers. you have the person in the field in the forager pulling and loading into a trailer, 1 person in a tractor that is constantly switching the empty for the full trailer from the forager and shuttling it to the pit, and 1 person in the pit compacting. pretty much the only time the forager stops is to unhook the full and re-hook to the empty.
I tried this but swapping the trailer is pretty annoying. Instead I just pull all auger trailer behind the Harvester and it can pour into another trailer as I come up beside
I still like the work you do for us viewers, thank you :) That said, i really wish you would start using vehicle explorer instead of tabbing trough every vehicle Anyways, Merry Christmas. Hope you'll get some good times.
Hey dagger, Did you know that you can actually paint meadows. I'd recommend it as parts of the farm where you've placed peaceable and landscaped, I think it would look a lot better of you had them. Love the vids
He said a while back that he prefers the aesthetics of just the texture without the meadow grass. It looks neater. I get that, sometimes I leave it without grass as well
So last video you were asking for a name for the Landini, how about Uvetta, its Italian for raisin, and since Landini is an Italian company it only makes sense.
it does reduce yeild by 5%, but the additive increased by 5%, so yes, you were right. it just evened out in the end, he probably would have had another 3/4 load if it were not raining

Autoload trailers are broken in 1.2, so if you're going with that solution to the pallet problem, do it before you update. Otherwise, you'll have to edit your vehicles.xml to fix them that way or wait for the modders to update the autoload trailers.
Irl silage additive is used to help with the fermentation process just in case the bacteria to cause the fermentation process is not as present as it should be for the proper fermentation of the chaff
@@Ryan-re1rs I tried it, it works also, but I found that you need a powerful tractor to pull it off and I usually ended up pushing the pallet way down the field and having to run back with it to the trailer. get a front loader, dump some grain, or some other stuff on top of it, bump the pallets out, collect the grain/stuff and repeat. I had like 3 pallets of honey stuck at once and it got them out all at one go. there was no grain lost.
Why don't you turn half of the eggs when you're filling up the trailer? As you can't seem to stack them three wide in the one direction, or two wide in the other direction, mix those directions up. So one goes in lengthwise, the other turned 90 degrees.
Seen this in couple of episodes now. U know u can load pallets 1 on one way then squise 1 onnther other way and u will have maximum loading width on the trailer on pickup, on that way u can load more than six pallets. Just a tip :) keep up good work!
what do you mean they all work, now there is an updated version of each and before you could just change the name of the pallets in the configs so they match with the game update 1.2
That trailer you use for the semi, has the option to just open the rear door. And it has a moving floor, make unloading easy and amazing for tight or low places
You maybe know this already but, to pick up the glitched pallets you can use the "autoloader" trailer. To not spoil the game you just get it, remove the pallets and then delteted.
Nice, only 3 videos behind now. This game *really* need Courseplay, "GPS". CP is great for automating silo-compacting. GPS for when you want to go straight and not use a helper. And of course a propper Seasons mod. Weird Giants dint pickup on Alien Jim's Silo pits, where the spillage is eliminated. No matter how ful it is it newer gets outside when compacting, filling etc. And of curse they still cant do synchronized speed. Lazy from Giants. Hope that mod gets ported as well.
Hey man been following your series since FS17! Got me a TMX PRO Wheel for FS22 and other racing games, but my wheel is so stiff when turning, I was just curious what wheel you have and is it just me, because IRL I don't think it's this hard to turn a combine! lol
I don't know if you've found these collectibles because I'm skipping ahead a few episodes to post this (Currently on episode 34, you also don't have episode 37 onwards in your playlist, and I also put majority of this comment in your previous video) 1) There is a collectible in the yard area of a building beside field 7, beside the farmer's market. I would say you've driven past it several times on the way to the observatory. 2) When you're going past the bakery with it on the right, there's a little marina/dock area on the left. There's another collectible in there 3) I don't recall if you have gone down the western most road (running north to south). If you have, then you've gone past at least one collectible. Also you mentioned early on about getting a place anywhere mod. You don't need it. There's a button you can use to remove all restrictions, it's Y if you're using an Xbox controller - I don't know what it is on keyboard though. It's in the building buttons though, so you can have a look there.
The fill level of a silage pit is however much you can pack into it without spilling. If you really wanted you might be able to get another trailer load in there. Wonder if you'd be able to use the silage pit over at the BGA even if you don't own it. The recent update should have fixed the silage glitch.
@@Rhamnus Yeah unlikely, but worth a try. In 19 you were able to buy the actual land around the BGA. In 22 you can only buy the building, the land still won't be yours.
@@DonGorgen I'm prepping for Silage in one of my save files I use to test things before trying it in a save file I don't cheat in. I will test it out after work tonight.
@@Rhamnus Let me know what you come up with. I already own the BGA in my save, so won't be able to try until i start a new one. Never done much loose silage in 22 anyway, with the huge bales and bale trailer I can transport it much faster as bales.
I would put the same size pit next to the existing one. You can still fit a bit from the other fields in to your existing pit. And the rest in the new one if you were to build that next to it. I think it would look good and it isn't to expensive so your not wasting money since it will all fit so why buy a bigger one :). And maybe later if your farm gets bigger you could put a bigger pit next to the cows if needed. That would be nice i think :) Oh and there's not really a limit to the pits as in a max of 400 000l. But there is a max height to what you can fill it. So its just how much you can fit whith in that whithout it spilling out.
Watch Pemberton Farms on youtube. They do exactly what you said for the system when packing in a silage bunker. The field is already cut, and turned over, then rowed. The forage harvester starts to fill the trailers, and after the first couple of loads are dumped, one stays behind to shape the layers, and compact it. Near the end, there are two tractors compacting the grass until the bunker is full.
I don't know if this is related to your limited ability to sell eggs at the bakery, but on my Elmcreek file I had delivered flour from my grain mill and ended up buying the bakery a few months after that and the bakery had flour already in it when I opened the production menu. Maybe it stores whatever you deliver to it and "uses" it over time. Just a guess. Still a pain in the bum if you're trying to unload the billion eggs you have at a good price haha!
Hey daggerwin love your vid’s but I’m having a bit of an issue and I’m wondering if you could help. My shop will not let me click into an tools or tractors to buy
Normally for 100+ acers I used 2 of those small cardboard boxes on the pallet so the additive should last pretty long in saying that this was grass and it depends how much you water it down
A cow eats two thirds of it's body Waight daily so the two bales you gave them 15 young cows would of eatin your two bales in less than two weeks if they were fully grown cows it probably wouldn't even last a week
Those bugged egg pallets are annoying. Lol! Why don’t you just edit the XML so their location in game is just a little higher with reference to the ground?
