Welcome back to my first Farming Simulator 22 let's play on Haut-Beyleron My Affiliate links: PC Download Version - www.farming-si... PC Version - www.farming-si... Music by Epidemic Sound
Next time when you're doing potatoes, beets or any other crop that requires an expensive harvester: be sure to plant more than one field, just like you did with the silage and that went great and assured good progress in this series.
Was going say same need to good sized field's. Spillage worth doing on this game if anybody struggling make money. On us map got field think 50 get 50k for 23 bales if didn't do this be struggling
16:49 Both you and the worker are actually missing bits there. You see those bits where the furrow is stil intact, you're lifting the header too soon and therefor only removed the topping. That header works like 2 separate units, the front part removes the topping and the rear lift the potatoes. You need to run the whole header over the furrows to get the potatoes. 17:00 No point using additive if you mix tmr yourself. From what I can tell it don't make the tmr better in any way and i've seen others say the same. Only time you'd need it is if you have the feeding robot, but if you can afford the 700K building you definately can afford some £1000 padding aswell lol. 18:00 You can save a failed mixture. Unload some of it on the ground to make room for whatever you need to adjust the levels, then just scoop it up for the next batch.
@@mikaelsteen2846 Yes you can, when you make the mix yourself you actually only need hay and silage. Only time you have to have additive is when you have the large shed with the feeding robot, it won't work unless you have all 4 ingredients.
The same goes with the sugar beet harvester. This also happens if you reverse while harvesting. The topper takes care of the crop, but the actual harvesting section does not.
I think you should buy the Case tractor. Also, I think it would be beneficial to just sell all of the grape related equipment (harvester, vines, trailer, production building) and use that money to buy a new harvester and/or a drill.
Potatoes in the back of the tractor need to drop faster at the back. The way they have it now is the potatoes are drifting or floating down, which destroys the immersion. All Giant has to do is speed it up a bit so gravity appears to be working in real life.
Happy 8th anniversary of making videos! I've only started watching your stuff since the build up to FS22, but I've been really enjoying the Haut-Beyleron and Survival Challenge series'! Keep up the good work :)
Loving all the FS22 stuff. For Calmsden I'd love to see you set the fuel up to be a bit more realistic -especially when you have red diesel on site. In 75 episodes, you've filled maybe one tractor up if I remember correctly.
Yes personally I always set the fuel to high, becuase then after harvesting the fields the harvester is almost ready to be refuled. and after a few weeks/days the tractors have used quaite a bit of fuel (of course depending on use)
To answer your question regarding leasing: yes!! It’s definitely too expensive. They use a fixed percentage of the purchase price at the moment. Prices you’ve used on Survival Role Play in the past are more realistic
When employing leased items it is best to get all your ducks in a row with support vehicles. It is better to use the helper on the leased item at all times as they do not damage crops. (assuming no bad corners or trees in the way.). If your potato field still shows the furrow texture after harvest you have topped the plant but missed the crop. You can save time by unloading the harvest machines always 'on the fly'.
For trains the front is usually called the locamotive or the engine. The things being pulled/pushed are called carriages/coaches when people are on board (including luggage). For cargo they are called cars. You can also see the signalling on the train line in fs22 and the US map has a US style locomotive and the European maps have a European style locomotive.
@Daggerwin Did you know there is a narrow manure spreader intended for grapes/olives in the basegame? This allows you to have a wider spread, use that cow manure and stick to realism! ✅ Like so he can see 👍🏻
On Calmsden Farm I vote for cutting the grass in the sheep field. Just be careful that you don't make lamb chops. Also I have watched the entire series on Haut Beyeron. Thanks for extending beyond 100 episodes!
Hey boss. The mineral feed isnt worth it right now. There is no difference between tmr and tmr with mineral feed. Maybe a furure update will make it worth using but for now its not. Hope this helps
Little fun tip: the different brands of wheels for the machinery also have different stats on grip (see the text on the left, the bottom row) I have not figured out if they actually have different levels of grip on different surfaces, but maybe someone has? The rental prices are too high. compare those to the rental prices in contracts and I wonder why there is such a huge difference. If prices are reduced by 10% at least then it is more interesting to ty the more expensive crops like sugar canes and vines.
I bought fs22 couple days ago, I am just loving every moment. Giants did great with the season changes, I sat and watched the trees turn orange. Beautiful 😍
Just a thought but the modeling of 3D veggies would add a lot of polygons and texture to the overall images which could slow down the frame rates in a slower computer and only add a minor detail. When faster more powerful graphic cards become the norm they could probably look into it.
I believe that rental price is very appropriate considering it's 500,000 to purchase 45,000 rental is extremely well priced in my opinion. Love the hard work you put in on this series please keep up the great work! 🤙😁🤙
Anther great video Daggerwin! Always enjoy watching you go. To the best of my knowledge, you're the only RU-vidr on PC that doesn't use mods that us in console can't get. You're always very upbeat and positive no matter how irritating something might be. My boys and I have been watching you for quite a while. In fact you're the first one we started watching and you're too blame for me getting hooked on the game as well. Farm on brother!
He'll be using pc exclusive mods eventually, only reason he's not using a lot of mods is cause there is not a lot of mods out yet and he want to experience the base game stuff aswell. He's already using superstrenght wich we don't have on console.
The potatos in the machine should just be changed to look the same as when you empty it into the trailer. Not sure why they didn't use the same effect.
When you collect the games I always consider the money a government handout, you could call it covid relief for your small business. So going and collecting the rest would just be your remaining relief payment lol
I combined fields 68 and 69 on ElmCreek and then planted potatoes which took 4 hours to plant with 2 planters and then the harvest took 6 hours with 2 harvesters of this size (I own one harvester and rented a second about 3 hours in), and I got a total of 900,000 Potatoes! Was an awesome experience and I made almost £500,000 from it.
couldn't you have bought that field next to the trainstation and continue harvesting potatoes. You already paid for that extra hour on the harvester. You could then have sown it and selled it back. Also if you use the train i think the rent time starts when you summon it, so it's better to wait and only summon it when it's close (i think that it works like that, not 100% sure). Great content btw, keep up the good work
There should be accessible small equipment for every crop in the game. The fact that you can't harvest potatoes without a massive machine in the base game is a major gameplay oversight. This is something that should have been addressed in playtesting on FS15.
Fun fact, the potato harvester works going forward and backwards... constantly lifting and dropping the header will likely just result in missing crops rather then actually harvesting them when trying to turn around.
Two things I'd like for the game to get in that regard: Slightly better payment for contracts to make a contractor career more interesting/viable Slightly more reasonable normal renting costs The option to ACTUALLY lease a machine as in: pay for it over time like irl leasing works. Of course with a higher total than just buying it straight, but that would make it so much easier to expand. It would be at great risk, after all you have to make the payments, butit would give us lots more options with bigger machines, especially the harvesters.
Well, if you consider the high crop prices on easy mode, the rent prices for the machines make sense. I mean, fertilizer and seed are pretty costly too (compared to real life prices).
Hi Daggerwin, just a thought on your comment of your lorrie that hops due to the weight in the trailer of potato's, if you go to your game play setting you can select the "trailer max weight" setting which will reduce the load of your crop to the maximum load your trailer can take for each crop you load. That should stop the "hopping" effect of your lorrie if that is a problem. I play with the max load setting on, you might make 1 or 2 more trips than normal, but each to his own
There's an option in the settings to turn on a weight limit for the trailers. So, instead of taking 59,400 litres, it may take less to meet the weight limit requirement. That might help when delivering heavy loads.
The problem with the tilting trailer is, as you guessed correctly, the weight. It is way over weight limit and that is why it is acting up. If you put the weight limit setting on, you will see that you can probably only fill it a bit more than half, before it reaches its limits. The trailer and the lorry are working fine ;)
Great content as usual Dag, maybe it is time to start looking at venturing more into the production side of things again? Dairy (seeing as you have the cows) Grain mill (makes a decent profit on cereal crops- then leads to utilising the bakery- add this in combination with your green houses, the dairy, chicken eggs, then just need to do some sugar beets/cane and place a sugar mill somewhere)
I really hope we get more potato equipment and facilities for fs22 on console. The grimme pack from 19 would be good and I also hope they add a factory to make either crisps or chips. Also we need a potato washer
On the bright side, it looks like running over the potatoes only takes the tops off, leaving the potato intact. Which makes sense, since it is underground.
The Truck torques over not sure if it’s a game mechanic but when the truck has a heavy load it will lift the axle. It’s seen a lot in truck drag racing.
I really enjoy your videos! I think you need more fields desperately tho, you have got most of the equipment, now you need to get some work for it, the balance of equipment/fields on your calmsden save is way better imo!
Don't reverse the train, always drive it forward. Reversing it seems to cause astronomical leasing costs. It should be £1000 an hour so should have only cost you a few hundred.
I agree with you about the potato model I think a easy fix would be to use the same model they used for the field stones just repaint to look like a potato. But like you said as someone who just plays the game easier said than done
A bit late to the episode, but you were asking about the train! each one of those containers that trail behind the locomotive are called train cars. I mentioned this in case you were still looking for an answer. Loved the video though!
Your truck is hopping because the trailer is overloaded. If you change the settings to "fill trailer to max weight" it won't let you overfill trailers. each product has its own weight and so certain crops will fill a trailer more or less than others. The downside is that quite often you may only be able to load a trailer to say 75% for example. It's very clever!
Yes not a bad payday for the potatoes they should have a French fry mod production company 😉 you did miss some potatoes on the headland the bumpy rows are unharvisted potatoes 🥔
I don't know which game framework the devs use for this, but if it has a half-decent particle system then the potatoes could be rendered as particles rather than whole objects - spawned on collection and deleted as they hit the hopper where the texture takes over.
Mineral feed additive does nothing useful. It's just an optional ingredient. TMR is as simple filltype. It has no qualities. It either is TMR or it isn't. Cows are not healthier or more productive if you add minerals. Mod makers can make TMR mixer require >0%, but in the base game it has no practical value. The truck is having difficulties, because the trailer is overweight. Weight is one of the best improvements in FS22. To only fill trailers to their maximum weight, enable Trailer Fill Limit in settings. Leasing is expensive in real life too, that's just realistic. You finance the leasing company as well as the equipment, and none of that money adds your property.
Just an FYI for Calmsden. There are certain objects that can be demolished in the construction screen for large sums of money, and then reinstated for much less
I think if I were to do this I would rent the potato harvester and just make a pile in the silage pit or something, then pick it up later on to sell rather than waste the time going to the train station with how expensive it is to run
Sell one of the mini tractors, Another tractor that the case will replace, the combine and anything else your not using almost daily and buy the Case tractor(you can always sell it after fixing) With the Case you will never be short on HP for all implements in the game. On Calmsden farm there are some good paying contracts(20k - 40K) to recuperate some money if needed. And then sell the doghouse or fuel tanks for 697k each, they must be made of gold
I came from work now , I just sat down and I was like " Ohh, it is potato harvest day " lol . love you videos , I don't have much time to play FS but I guess watching your video's are enough :)
You probably already know and have it recorded, but buy the tractor and its future trade in value is more than you pay for it... so you can use it and then trade/sell it to fund another piece of equipment and or land.
Great video keep up the hard work you where the first RU-vidr that I subscribe to and I think I start watching your RU-vid video’s since farming simulator 17 hoping you have a great day from FF trio gaming
You should keep some potatoes to fill the seeder with for the next planting. saves buying more seeds. i also find january has ther best price for the train.
You also rented the harvester on the half hour. If you had got it just after the top of the hour you wouldn’t have had to pay the extra hours rent. Keep up the great work mate.
The hire prices are too high compared with real life but so are the sale prices. If they lease prices were less, say 50% of current, you wouldn't even consider buying any machinery.
I'm sure others have mentioned, but why did you sell instantly 😭😭😭 The price is almost always it's worse, or near worst price at harvest time. You should have stored them and waited a few months before selling. (I did field 20 with soybeans, selling 5 months after harvest bumped my payout by roughly 130%)
@@TT_PLEB you can't store potatoes in a silo, you either have to buy a bunch of trailers or dump them on the ground, which adds the pain in the ass of using belt systems to get it back in a trailer when it's time to sell
@@minimovzEt he literally put them in a silo at the train yard. It even counts what's in the train silo on the prices screen. Just leave them in there for a few months before loading them on the train and selling Edit: plus there's already like 7 multifruit silos on the modhub that accept potatoes.
If you harvest potatoes or sugar beet with the small header without a worker you often loose 1 out of 6 rows, because the tires stick out a tiny bit more than the harvest width of the header actually is 3:05 . drives me crazy, so i dont harvest manually with those headers
THE LEASING COST WHEN YOU SELL GRAIN IS NOT THE LEASING COST FROM THE TRAIN ITSELF! I have figured this out after many uses of the train on Elm Creek. If you look at your money closely when you have the train rented, you do not loose any money, and aswell as the fact that when you look at your money go up when you send the train off, you will find that the amount of money it says you gained was not subtracted from the “vehicle leasing cost” notification
If he hadn't leased a machine or waited until he had been notified how much he had already paid for it, then the leasing ammount would have been only what he paid for the train. Usually you get a notification on top of every hr of how much leasing you've paid the last hr, exept with the train. The train notifies instantly, and because he had paid fees that wasn't notified yet the ammount displayed will be the sum the train fee and whatever other fee he paid since the last hrly notifiction.
@@DonGorgen that’s just it. The leasing cost is inaccurate no matter how much it says you lost, the Harvest income notification is never subtracted from the leased notification.
There’s plenty of money making opportunities on calmsden farm. Firstly you have a lot of large equipment already so I doubt there’s much to invest in. Selling the dog house gets you £300,00+ and the fuel tanks are the same. Replacement ones are selling for 12,000 so sell the existing and place a new one and your are £350,000 up on each one ;)
Did a Cow test, same cows and numbers. One was given TMR with Mineral Feed. And one with just Hay and Silage. Exact same Health and Production. So I guess Straw and Mineral Feed is more for realism then actual functionality.
Mineral Feed might not do anything but adding straw bulks up the entire amount of TMR produced without using the more "expensive" ingredients...ie. Silage
@@skeeter042 Yeah in that aspect, sure Straw is a bit "cheaper", I guess it depends on what else you have on your farm. I started a pure Cow farm, mainly for milk and selling Calves, so that's the main income and rest is growing crops that produce Hay and Silage. So basically grass in two different forms. It's pretty good payoff, considering the investment.
@@mrgeebee1622 I hear ya, I'm playing Erlengrat as a dairy farmer, year 2 at this point but I still just use straw as a filler to bulk up the total amount of TMR produced without having to use more silage and hay.
5:00 I have the same opinion as you and as I program my self I know, that this would not be that difficult to add 3D models but the big issue is the performance. That would all be small Objects and they all need to be processed.💻🖥
I was also told you need to lose money on the first potato harvest because you should save all the potatoes and use them to seed the next time. Then you sell all and get the money you should be getting. It costs alot to plant them from buying seed.
about walking floor trailer. either you ahve walking floor or pusher or tipp but the walking floor does the moving of crop not the both. and i got fact from onelonleyfarmer who newly bought a walking floor trailer. keep on gaming all:-)
Couple of things, it looks like your truck is too small for that trailer. It is bouncing around like that when carrying loads because it doesn't have enough weight or power to pull that heavy of a load. Trade it in for a bigger truck & that should stop. 2nd if storing crop at the train station doesn't cost anything, it's more cost effective to have at least 2 crops at the train station to be sold when you actually use the train.
I don't think prices for renting are too high. The initial cost for the harverster (30k) is 1/20 of its full price. Meaning, that if you're not going full on potato your every harvest, it won't ever be more beneficial to buy it from shop (you would have to do 20 harvests with it, for the cost to even). Naturally that's not including hourly fee but that's the general idea. With renting fee halved, it would take 40 harvests.
MAINTENANCE - it costs A LOT more if you perform maintenance later than sooner. For a brand new vehicle, it costs over 3x the amount, if you perform maintenance at 0%, rather than 10x while at 90% - resulting in the same usage hours. For a highly used vehicle (+50hours) and the same comparison, it is over 6x the cost. Maintain your equipment! Add lube, refill fluids, change the oil and filters frequently, rather than get a transmission or engine overhaul job every time!!
Was there a lot of potatoes still left in the ground at the top of the field? What about the other potato fields for some extra income and better use of the hour of time of rental?
Great video, I have 2 things to say: 1. Make the episodes a bit longer as I seem to fly right threw them 2. You should buy the black anthom DLC on steam it’s only like 3 or 4 dollars, it’s worth it, it’s a Lorry, and it’s very powerful.
Based on fs19 experience, you could go for the tatra truck. Much better handling than the MAN despite looking fairly similar. Besides I believe the rocking you experience under heavy load is an attempt to simulate the "torque roll" a real truck does under similar conditions.
Hi daggerwin you’ve really inspired me to start my own channel. I didn’t have equipment to do quiet same as you so I’ve started with timelapses like chainsaw100 would love to see what you thought of it. Thank daggerwin and can’t wait for survival series 👍👍
Great episode once again! Daggerwin, is it likely you would start a new No Man´s Land survival thing? The one you did in fs19 was probably my alltime favorite😀👍
