With the P5 re-launch of the old USA Destroyer models, let's look back at the real deal and talk about how killer they were. Hopefully this will help people decide what might fit within their arsenal now that these rods will be back on the market (sort of).

The javelin is coming back. I have one coming in to replace a p5 rod that broke. According to megabass customer service the javelin will not be ready for release until April. I was told that it took a little longer to get it right so that is why it will not be available until April

@@PunchFishing They told me that it took longer to get the action of the rod just right so that is why they won’t be available right away. The last time I checked about a month ago, they are slated to arrive around mid April

I ended up selling it! It's great rod, but it collected dust with some other rods in my collection that I use more often for similar things.

Javelin will be coming back in the summer on the 2nd release... This is according to my local MB dealers... I prefer longer rods so the BMG n jav would be the only ones I'd want... But MB warranty for their price not worth it to me.. I'll just pay a bit more n go w nrx plus..

honorable mention. Tim Little of tactical Bassin said his most favorite rod to use all of last year was the P-5 Z crank Eiseil.......for top waters. worth taking a look. Absolutely appreciate this video and your comments of experience

No, not at all. There's not enough there to really sink significantly. Been doing this for years.

I run longer fluorocarbon leader on all my poles. It doesn't effect anything other than the small small top waters (Sammy 65 or grand siglet). You should try snaps on your walking baits and poppers. They'll walk so much better.

I own a bunch of US destroyers, so I only preordered the oneten, Flyssa and FMJ P5s (although I want more 😂). I love my US Destroyer FMJ, but I’m intrigued with the new P5 version being longer, and having different power ratings and taper. I hope it’s just a slightly more powerful X Bites and can handle 1/2oz and 3/4oz jigs. I also considered the Mark 56, as it’s a bit different from the US Mark 48, but I didn’t buy it. It’s shorter, lighter, and has a more narrowed in weight spec. I assume MB built it to be “the” magdraft rod.

@@kayakfishingforpredators9107 I’m still waiting on my Flyssa, as is everyone else in the country that ordered on. I ended up grabbing a BMG also, and I might be more excited for that one than I am with FMJ and oneten special. I have a feeling it’s going to force my braillist to take a back seat.

Most MB rods are built in China, yes.

Or these are USA market models, hence USA Destroyer. Other lineup are French Ltd or JDM. Megabass sells more blanks to (i suppose) OEM factories and distributed from there on. Same blank, same action/ caracteristiques but different components (looks)
