Judging from the demo track, 10 Points to Gryffindor for whoever can guess my favorite Dethklok song lol ➤ Thanks to DistroKid for sponsoring today's video! Get your music heard and snag a bonus 7% off! distrokid.com/vip/agufish
Started a bit System of a Downy but quickly switched into the Murder murmaid murder riff... Well done man.. it's not the easiest thing to make sthg sound like Dethklok \m/,
You did a really good job emanating Brendon's style with the demo track. I can really feel your personality and his influence coming through in the track.
Damn dude that demo track is fire, tones are really clear. Definitely making a ghosthorse (or, if insanely lucky, a thunderhorse) that much more attractive.
If I was gonna get an explorer it would either be this one or the thunderhorse. Also we can all hope that hetfield joins hammett and mustaine at gibson. A Papa Het epiphone explorer would be fire.
The neck profile threw a lot of people off at the store we have here when this was in stock (even the staff felt the need to warn me that the neck was a weird profile) I personally didn't find it that bad but I actually do think this specific neck profile has to be felt before spending 1k on because it definitely isn't for everyone.
I’ve watch this videos like 4 times. I finally got my GhostHorse today, after a hour of demo, I’m watching it again. I have a Fender Strat with generic pickups, I have a "Jem Jr" - pretty good pickups, I have a Gretsch "TigerJet" with Black FilterTron pickups - fvckn great pickups!! These Gibson Burstbuckers though, these sh1tz Boom.
Hi, I enjoy your reviews and this one is no different at all. Very detailed and informative. Just a tip! could you please add guitar balance in your reviews?? a lot of us like to play standing and neck dive is annoying AF. It's certainly something I always look before buying a new guitar. Keep on rocking man! :)
The clean part of master of puppets is all in the 1st position fretting. Keep rocking man. Orion is a great tune to master. Just pick upwards as much as you can. Just imagine what you can do when you pick downward. Keep it up bro
I think Swissgar would approve of the riff! Brendan is one hell of a guitar player and animation innovator. Metalocalypse was the first accurately animated guitar playing and guitars, ever. The same goes for the other instruments.
Play without backup sound, and only pic upwards. Then your on your way. Nice smooth sound bro. I ordered one. Cant wait to play The Prince from metallica.
Dreams...wish i could ...terminal cancer treatment has taken every penny...as well as selling my gear. ....absolutely beautiful guitar...very versatile and ALWAYS LOVED a non floating Explorer!!!....What a gem of a guitar!!...loved the video!
I was really debating this guitar, but I think I'm going to get a purple Extura for my next guitar. I'd be more tempted if the Ghosthorse had locking tuners, because I just do not want to wind strings anymore.
Spec and features wise, this guitar is an epic deal. Definitely more appealing than the Alex Lifeson LP. Not a fan of the color , body shape, head stock shape, or Floyd Rose, but for some reason I want it.
"massive thanks to Discord for sponsoring this video", that escalated quickly. 🤣 Cool axe but man, that chonky trunk makes me steer away from them cause 100% I'd break something. I already bump my les paul and mayones headstocks into everything to my left. With that thing the right wouldn't be safe either.
early this year I had to sell my Snow Falcon due to pandemic/job issues, and I miss it everyday. I'm not as keen on this one, but my mouth is still watering.
Oh cool, I didn't realize it was a full stop on the Floyd. I was hesitant to get a GhostHorse because of that, but I feel like this would be great. Great review!
Agreed on the rolled fingerboard edges. I have the Harley Benton SC Custom with floyd rose 1000 and EMGs, similar level of spec in terms of hardware, but coming in at only $500ish and the edges on it are well rolled. Not the prettiest 'roll' job as you can see where it's been done pretty clearly, but my fingers appreciate it.
The Floyd is supposed to float. Since the neck is tilted back you're supposed to set the angle inline with the neck. Its like Dimebag's personal guitars, most of them where not recessed but he could obviously pull up due to Dean's Gibsonesque construction which included a tilted back neck (not headstock tilt). Obviously this isn't common so please dont take this as a criticism just thought you might like to know so you can do some squeals and flutters with your Floyd!
Awesome video 🤘 just ordered mine today 👍 wanted an Explorer for the longest time but none felt right until I saw this one. I’m a Floyd Rose guy and looking forward to trying one not recessed and with a hard stop. I own a bunch of guitars with Korean Floyd Rose 1000 and they are solid.
I had one of these for about a week and loved it. Unfortunately I had the same issue with the case and when ever I used the Floyd there was a creaking in the neck. It was a sad day to ship it back.
I own real USA $2000 Gibsons and $600 Epiphones. While they can’t compare to the Gibsons, for the price and the improvements on build, style, and just about everything else, I love my Epiphones
It's a beautiful guitar. My only gripes are the toggle switch's position, not ergonomical at all and the fact the Floyd Rose is not a floating trem (Dive-only seems a kind of waste IMO), otherwise it's a killer from Epiphone.
Brendon Small's best work is Home Movies. Check it out if you haven't seen it before. Truly hilarious. I completely dig the sound of the Bridge with the neck split. That is an incredible sound.
They really dropped the ball when it came to Explorer cases. I bought an Epiphone Explorer ebony a few moths ago and when I unpacked the case at home it turned out smaller than the guitar. The shop was totally clueless about a case that actually fits so I had to return it. They also said that the cases are not made by Epiphone, but are outsourced to some other company. They were happy to offer me a Gibson case for 280 euro which I politely rejected. I kept the guitar though, I love it.
Some say his family would discourage this career choice, but they can't get close enough to unplug the speaker cabinets during heavy chugs. And he's never played baritone guitar in the saddle (her name is Dylan) despite the djent being strong. The man! The Legend! Der Fish!
An explorer with a Floyd rose? That’s new… Also I’ve noticed that epiphone is putting the same pickups (probuckers) in a LOT of their guitars, I wonder why… (mm yes Gibson pickups in an epiphone)
They're my favorite bridge setup on my favorite guitar style. As soon as these released I snagged one and liked it so much I got a second and put bkp nailbomb pickups in it and traded the burstbuckers to a friend for a set of evh wolfgang humbuckers that I'll put in a to be decided guitar. For their price they're way over specced, case us kinda crappy though.
All in this seems to be a very nice guitar/case set (even if Pringle's reaction says 'meh') although I think I would want to mod the case with some glue and longer screws to avoid support slippage.
The case is meh I sent few back before getting a decent one. I like the concept of the epi lite cases they work well for les pauls v's just not explorers.
Y'know what would have made that the best demo track ever for this channel? A big Brendon small style solo! 👀😅 Great Inspired riffage though. Part murmaider, part thunderhorse, part bloodrocuted. I think I heard a little awaken (mustakrakish) in there too.
I am SUPER suprised the case isnt busted even more then that. Mine wasn't even holding the guitar down with the strap. Completely torn off. At least my fretboard was completely ebony and not all splotchy lookjng like yours
Your thumbnails are so vibrant in contrast and color. The videos always have a fantastic content, but I have found the lack of vibrant colors in the videos very strange, it would be really nice if I put a little more color and contrast. Thanks for the exceptional content.
Totally would want that if it didn't have a floyd. The other day an epiphone snow falcon was on reverb for only 800 bucks bc it had a string butler and a duncan invader and it was gone in less than 24 hours :(
Well dude of you wanted one without the Floyd why didn't t you get his first signature explorer? The thundert horse has a hard tail.your just a Floyd hater 🖕
@@bigmike9527 because not everybody has money to spend 24/7 on gear. (as kickass as that would be) I love the feel of Floyd's but they are a pain in the ass to setup and tune. But sorry you can't handle someone not liking something you do. 🖕
@@burnoutzzz I've had dozens of guitars with Floyd's and they are easy to set up and once it is set up you never have to set it up again unless you change the size of the strings or change the tuning, and that's what gives you a reason to have multiple guitars 🤘
Soooo, I got a Ghosthorse a couple of months ago. I do love it. One of the best guitars for the money but listening to the video I was interested to hear that you said the nut was a little recessed. Well mines not. I'm pretty sure they have changed it that way for a reason. My E strings fall off the sides of the fretboard regularly so I pretty sure that's why yours has a smaller nut. This is the only guitar I've ever experienced that with. The cases suck. My original Ghosthorse came with a cracked neck and busted case and I returned it. The next one came in with a busted case again. Still love the guitar tho.
Hmm, just like my $2800 ESP KH2, the nut is smaller but I dont notice it and I like the room I have with the High E, i dont pull the string off the board and playing clean is easier too. And with top mounted Floyds the BAR is much higher then with recessed and its so much easier to use, my USA Charvel is like that. I have 9 guitars, 8 with floyds, no trouble here.
I honestly wish I had the same love for Epiphone that you have. I didn't really grow up playing them so I don't have any sentimental attachment. Although I had a LP Special back in 95, most of my early guitars were all Strat knock offs. And now I just buy the Gibson version and skip everything else. Few months back I purchased a Epi Standard 60's to match my Gibson but I can't seem to bond with it. I will say though, this particular guitar piqued my interest.
Alright Hunter I have a serious question here w/ these Ghosthorse explorer. Is there room in the back electronics cavity to fit a 9v if I were to put Emg's in it? I just don't care for the Burstbuckers in this style of guitar and I know if I get this, I will want to put a set of EMG's in it...
