Ricardo Lopez is the most precise puncher in the long and storied history of Mexican boxing. One of the few men in boxing history to never lose in the ring. He was the closest thing to perfect as a boxer could possibly be.

Never better said! And maybe what you say about him, really trascend the sport and goes into his character. Ricardo "El Finito" López is now a dedicated motivational speaker and boxing commentator, equally gifted in the word.
@@alfredosalas2693 cada cual elige donde y quiere hacer sus disputas. Me parece perfecto. Vos?
His personality has a lot to do with how he was brought up. He was a planned and loved child. His parents were good people who brought up a good, educated, respectful and humble kid. He represents the real Mexican working class family. He's still such a nice, respectful, educated, and humble man. He's also a great motivational speaker. He was brought up with one word ''humbleness''
@Hilda Díaz NOTHING happens everywhere OR all of time. But when something happens that is SUPPOSED to happen in the first place, then I am not going to make a big deal out of it. What is next ? Do you want us to all get excited and go crazy when a man gets a job and gets married?
@Sam Manco Who is the idiot that is mentioning birthdays? I only mentioned pregnancies. Which in most cases do not require any planning at all. It is a natural occurrence. All creatures and beasts reproduce. The planning is done in order to prevent a pregnancy or kill the product/child from the pregnancy. Most of what you call planned parenthood is nothing more than a combination of birth control pills and abortion clinics.
Fun fact: The main antagonist- Ricardo Martinez from the boxing manga "Hajime No Ippo" is based on Ricardo Lopez. The author George Morikawa really studied and did a perfect job depicting and implementing certain parts of Ricardo's style through his character. Ricardo Lopez is truly incredible as you study his techniques more and you can see Morikawa's appreciation of his boxing shine throughout his art.
Im from 🇵🇷, but I have always mentioned this man when the subject of best boxers ever. His defense, power, composure, i.q. and straight up faith in himself. Love Mayweather, but this man was either even with him or better. My own personal. One of those guys that made you like boxing. Much respect to my Mexican bros.
Side note: it is said that while most pound for pound fighters cry about wanting the home town advantage , finito had most of his fights in the opponents home town. In an interview he said it was hard for him to eat anything because of the fear of being poisoned by boxing mobs in those areas. But he went there anyways cuz that’s how real champions do 🎉
Not just that, he fought in places where blatantly unfair referees were the norm, so he had additional pressure to knock the opponent out or risk having a biased judge ruling.
Jesus Christ is the SaviorBabalik na si Hesus, repent❤✋️Repent for Jesus Christ is coming back. He is the Savior. He died for us, He died to save us from our sins. Do what He commands us to do. Jesus loves you, but don't abuse His love. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all😊❤
Ricardo "finito" Lopez was one the deadliest punchers ever and very very underrated. He had no stop button, no idle switch, no brakes, no mercy. The ultimate finisher, Ricardo Lopez
One of my all time favorite fighters. Absolute master of the fundamentals and undefeated. He was just underrated and didn't have the promotional machine behind him that certain other fighters had. He was exceptional!!! Period!!!!
That dude didn't really need a promotional machine. He was a Don King fighter back in the day when Don was putting together MONSTER PPV cards with 3 or 4 championship fights on the same card. He was ALWAYS fighting on the biggest Tito Trinidad, Julio Caesar Chavez, Mike Tyson PPV events. I watched him all throughout the 90s on all the biggest cards. He was also NOT underrated back then. If you were a boxing fan then you at LEAST knew something of Finito's greatness. It was a shock to see him win a belt in another weight class and almost immediately retire and walk away happy with no regrets. He's also a hell of a motivational speaker, a VERY educated man. A thinking man's champion.
@@marcoslaureano5562 He was underrated as far as the heights of popularity enjoyed by other champions who were not as complete as he was. I used to watch him on all those cards you spoke of as well. That's how I got familiar with him. You would be surprised how many, so called, boxing fans who grew up in that era, don't know about Finito. I'm also familiar with his intelligence and education. Personally, I believe that him being so well educated contributed to his extremely polished skill in the ring. He was basically flawless.
@@HatianHurricane actually he wasn't, that's what I'm telling you. There is a special belt the WBC only gives to the greatest fighters. I believe Tyson got one, Ali got one, Julio Caesar Chavez got one - and the only other one was given to guess who.....yup, Finito Lopez. They gave him his flowers while he was still fighting. Now if you mean MAINSTREAM SUCCESS in AMERICA - then yes, but he's Mexican and was a HUGE star there and still is one of their most beloved champions.
@@marcoslaureano5562 I was definitely talking about mainstream US. I have no doubt that he is huge in Mexico. Mexico always gives their boxing stars the reverence that they deserve.
@@marcoslaureano5562 I don't remember watching his fights when I was a kid but I do remember his name "Finito!" when ever we were done making our point. All my family were big boxing fans growing up, probably why we used that expression so much.
He may have fought at 105 # but if you’re a boxing fan I think you have to agree he was the best all around fighter in any division and the best combination puncher I’ve seen, Boxing perfection.
Ricardo Lopez was flawless in the ring. His application to the sport was beyond unique. He was a man amongst boys. Everyone else was competing for second place.
He fought 105 & 108. There are no talents at that weight. With his height, be could have fought 112, 115, 118, 122, and 126. I believe he would have gotten whooped easily if he fought at 118
@@q4life551 did hagler or monzon ever move up past 160? that might be a pre-requisite today but not during finito's prime. you have guys like broner who are 4 division champs. are you going to tell us he was better than finito?
this goes for most of the smaller fighters. the amount of disrespect guys like el gallo, chocolatito get is mind blowing. atleast inoue is putting some light to those weight classes. the display of skills at the lower weights is what real boxing enthusiast enjoy.
Lil guys are great but they'll never get the spotlight of guys above 130lbs. Finito was awesome but I still think Salvador Sanchez was the best Mexican champion.
He is the king of his own division just like Ali but he can't go up because he can't take that risk. 51-0 is simple when you stay at your comfort division and face bunch of bums and taxi drivers unlike Chavez who was undefeated in 70+ fights starting to bottom to 3 weights up 💪 truly a magnifico of Mexico
The fact that he was a small division fighter, made him the most underrated Mexican boxer of all time. He was great, probably the best of all time, alongside Chávez.
López was way better than Chávez. One, because López never lost. Two, López technique was perfect, he fought like if every single punch was planned, every move was totally under his control. Many times Chavez was a messy fighter and a lot of times he won because his great stamina.
El finito Lopez is definitely one of the best and most underrated boxers of all time. He isn't talked about much because of his weight class. Gran orgullo Mexicano 🇲🇽 💪🏽
Yeah, people these days often refer to jab and clinch type fighters as technical fighters when that's really more of a spoiler style, however, Ricardo was the true definition of a technical fighter who utilized skill and footwork with little clinching.
Never seen this much precision in Boxing hand to hand combat & movement combined. Float like a butterfly, sting like a Hornets nest with this master Boxer.
Finito was a complete package: Defense, Speed, Power, Movement, Accuracy, Timing...He had it all. I used to love watching this expert. It was as if he was teaching a boxing lesson for each of his opponents.
His subtle faints before throwing a punch is a lost art. And his punch selection and defense were brilliant. Now I know who Mayweather Jr. and Lomochenko were watching...
He didn't get the recognition he deserved because of the weight class he was in. After the bantamweight class, you just didn't hear about those smaller weight classes because they just weren't televised and given the publicity like the heavier weight classes. Only true boxing fans knew who he was and appreciated his talent. He is without a doubt one of the best ever.
You forgot to mentioned that at the time Ricardo López was the 4th boxer ever to be given the green belt that is given to work champions after more than 12 years retaining his belt or something like that, the first one was Ray Robinson, Ali,Tyson and then this man..
@@eliadcollinszachary5135 is either 12 years holding the belt or more than 22 or 24 consecutive defenses, which ever comes first, not sure if it’s true but it’s something like that
I really appreciate the time to make tribute of these mexican warriors, first Salvador Sánchez, then Chávez and now Finito. You have a lot of work to do because Mexico is full of legendary fighters.
I grew up watching this man's fights and enjoy every single one I even go back to seeing his fights a true champion in an out the ring never lost one never.
I remember the first time I saw him fight and was amazed at how fast hand speed was and elusive he was. I remember just seeing opponents head snap back and see lopez jab returning. I then looked at past fights and was in awe and couldn't understand why there wasn't more media about how good this guy actually was. I know not being in one of the heavier weight classes contributed to his lack of notoriety but greatness shines through whether highlighted or not. I think D. Johnson aka Mighty mouse is very similar in that in his division no one really even challenged them and many say he is in conversation of GOAT. I think Lopez should be in conversation, doesn't mean he is GOAT, but the techinical side, physical speed, and true dedication and professional attitude that he showed over a lengthy amount of time truly showed he was one the greatest fighters ever.
I hope many more people get to see and appreciate this gifted boxer. Rhythm Boxing did a great job putting together this tribute to one of the best light weight boxers of all time.

@@vince11harris yea, it's why he was able to dismantle damn near everyone. Don't get me wrong, sugar ray was a bad ass and his nickname is well deserved.
Japan literally made a whole cartoon based around this man. That’s how great he was. The man defeated so many GREAT Japanese fighters they honored him with an entire boxing anime cartoon.
Just had a chance to watch this on the big screen. Excellent job RB! I shared it with everyone that I train. Looking forward to Bob Foster and Carlos Monzon! Happy New Year!
My all-time favorite non-heavyweight. He really was as close to being a "perfect fighter" as you could possibly get. He never cherry picked old and worn out opponents like other guys did. His divisions were loaded and he took on ALL comers and NO ONE could manage to beat him. Alarez came close, he was a good fighter but very dirty and that to me is a dishonor to the sport. Ricardo has had a HUGE impact on Mexican boxing. Just look at Juan Manuel Marquez - he has almost the same exact style and holds his hands up high the same way and has possibly just as great an uppercut to go along with that fencing type of boxing style. That's pure Finito right there. Great video, SALUTE!
"He'd run more Mexican style clinics than the Catholic church." Omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Rhythm Boxing, you are just too much with your eloquence! LOOOOOOOOOOOL
I love tactical fighters and this guy is one if my fav fighters but he gets no respect from Mexican fans they say he fought nobodies… I salute this great Champion Mexico 🇲🇽
A minority of people in Mexico would say such a thing. Lopez won't be the best pound for pound for any true Mexican fan, but he's at the top for everyone.
Salute to a legend! Master craftsman possibly the best prize fighter ever ! Yes criminally undocumented and appreciated is definitely right word ... Salute champ 🏆
Agreed 💯 👍 Ricardos 51-0 only 1 Draw compared to 50-0 plus Ricardo fought and beaten more World champions and had more consecutive title defenses Defeated 25 world champions & had 21 consecutive title defenses Floyd's gotta let go of his ego and arrogance and be more humbled because it's the reason why hes not getting a lot of respect and credit for his career. Money is okay but the love and obsession of it is not good for your persona
One of the all-time greats! Doesn’t get the same kind of name reconciliation as some of his counterparts, but no doubt, Lopez was at the very top of the short list for greatest fighters ever.
Technique wise Shakur Stevenson, Mike Tyson, and Finito Lopez are the most perfect boxers I have ever seen. They never reach, over extend, or lose positioning. Finito deserves FAR. More. Praise.
I respect your opinion. However, allow me to add a few more names from my era of boxing! Sugar Ray Leonard Salvador Sanchez Roberto Duran (as a lightweight) Marvin Hagler Manny Paquiao Floyd Mayweather (yeah..i hate to admit it) Roy Jones Jr. GGG Oscar De La Hoya
@@ricardougaldegonzalez9369 - how the hell could i forget to mention Julio Cesar Chavez? He was great! Marquez was great too! I always felt that Marquez never truly got the respect that he deserved! He was a true warrior in the ring!
What a fighter and been waiting to see a video abouth this boxing master. Without doubt one the greatest Mexican boxers to ever step into the ring. Legend
In my personal opinion, one of the greatest boxers. Magnificent skills no to many people talked about him only the people who love this sport know him.
