Yeah, for example: I play Genshin Impact but I never go around telling people that I do it(unless those people are my friends). Just enjoy the shit but keep it to yourself
@@DeimosTheManhonestly I never had a problem when people knew I played genshin, it's like Before knowing I played genshin :🌎 After knowing : 🌎 Nothing changed, honestly when my friend knew about it he decided to play the game too
I have no clue why fangirls of mha has such an obsession with shipping and cosplaying bakugou and deku as a gay couple.. They just somehow like the idea of an abusive hothead dating a shy goody-two shoes and are set on it being canon with no evidence suggesting that it will ever come true..
Like bakugou got a redemption arc later on, but they where shipping them during early parts forgetting bakugou told deku to quite literally jump of the schools roof
it’s probably a weird obsession with an enemies to lovers dynamic but it just seems toxic/borderline abusive when it’s with bully vs victims (I don’t like it if it’s not obvious,, of course this is my personal opinion so sure I sorta respect their opinion but I dunno)
I remember watching mha when it first came out. I still watch the movies and the new seasons when they come out. But it's not the same now that the shipping fanatics have taken over most of the online presence the show has.
Well to be fair the shipping part of it isn’t the problem the normal shippers anyway the main problem is the gay shippers cause for whatever reason they want deku to be gay even though mha isn’t a yoai anime they are actually what’s ruining mha it would have been better had they stayed out of the fandom I mean seriously if those people want representation then go watch a gay anime stop being cringe by trying to make the main character of mha gay especially since there’s zero evidence to support that deku is gay or that he even could be cause he has never blushed at guys for any reason other than admiration either in the manga anime or movies and just so we’re clear admiration and romantic interest are not the same thing
@@mattsultimategamingandrevi8249This comment is lowkey being homophobic at this point. The problem isn’t the gayness itself, it’s the over-sexualization & the pushiness *of* the gayness. Ppl forcing their head canon onto you & having 15 year olds bang is the problem.
@@aamateur-artist it’s honestly not being homophobic when its the truth but at the same time you are right in saying that the problem is that people push gayness onto others especially in mha when they are trying and failing to make deku gay the chances of him being gay are very slim cause one he has never blushed at bakugo for any reason other then admiration sure they have really strong bond and deku spends more time with bakugo and toadaroki more than his other friends but that doesn’t mean he is or that it makes him gay it just means they have a really strong friendship nothing more than that not everything in anime has to be gay you know I get people want representation but if you want that then go watch a yoai anime or read manga that is yoai don’t be trying to change a character in a shonen just because you want representation the author of mha has never said that deku is or isn’t gay but he wouldn’t have made ochacho if he was cause it’s clear that ochacho is supposed to be the love interest for deku i remember reading an article about it that said if the author wanted to he would explore Izuocha more it’s around you just have to look for it if people like gay stuff then good for them I’m not saying that they can’t all I’m saying is that stuff doesn’t need to be in mha especially not with the main character
I remember having a friend that always wore a Deku jacket. She was 20 that constantly acted like a child, never took showers, and always wanted me to watch the MHA anime. I never did, and never will because she was so sexually touchy towards me and so immature despite her age.
@@nightfury1758although I'm an mha fan, I respect your decision to not watch it. It's your decision to make and I have no right to force or even try to force you ( seriously why can't all mha fans be like this instead of the minority of mature mha fans like myself? ) P.s I meant like why is only minority the mature fans instead of at least majority
it is actually really calm rn. even when i became a mha fan i only saw a few weirdos. my friends usually showed me the weird stuff (not because they are weirdoes but because they wanted me to show what kind of weirdos those people were) i was on the video essay, normal fanart and manga review side of the fandom
@@user-cn7oj3ws8q I understand. What I find super cringe is that they take it waaaaaaay out of proportion. Like fanart is one thing. Making TikTok’s….😬 It depends. Threatening the creator to make it canon; that’s a huge F U in my book.
*(Ranking animatronics by the best to marry)* I mean, most of them who do that stuff just like being silly for the f___ of it every now and then. But for the others... ...like, climb a bloody tree or something will you people...
Yup I have seen some shit in the fandom as well but I don't think it is as bad as mha , don't get me wrong I like fnaf not in a wierd way but in actualy enyoy the memes and bamm this shit in fandoms needs to stop. I've been a fan for years for many reasons first being this anime was one of the first ever animes I watched during 2020 I find out about the fandom around 2021 but because of the amount of embarrassment of being a fan because of the fandom I tried to avoid it as much as possible this year I watched the both season 5-6 just to sake of finishing it and getting it out of my watch later list but I actually really liked both of the seasons later on started to not care about the fandom ig it's not really bad much as it was in 2021 (it was a total nightmare 💀) Idk maybe because I only interact when I want to save edits but it's sad to see that because of the fandom the anime loses tons of new possible viewers and it's sad because its actually not that bad its actually good it must be hard for the author to see how their years of work is found weird by many because of the cringe and loud part of the fandom imagine working so hard on something you spend years to build up putting your best in it just for some cringy teens to ruin it for you and change manys view on it and losing potential normal fans who'll enjoy your work and support you truly saddening tbh
Every single MHA RU-vid channel is literally either just shipping Deku and Bakugo or just being cringe and skimping for the characters. I don’t even get why people ship Deku and Bakugo it’s not even that good of a ship like aren’t they enemies!? The community ruined this show for everyone.
enemies? They are literally the closest pair in the entire series. They are friendly rivals and they deeply care about each other. Calling them enemies is such a shallow way to describe their relationship
@@TheNicStar88 Yeah? It’s not like characters cannot be redeemed. And even through that bullying Deku even admitted he never hated Bakugo if anything he admired him that’s why he never tried avoiding Bakugo and even sticking around him. And the rest of the series from chapter 119 Bakugo is trying to make everything up to Deku because he regrets everything even to the point sacrificing himself to save Deku.
@@WhatMoti1vationlol no, that "friendship" is the most toxic, unilateral and hurtfull kind of "rivality" that you can have. It's comparable to trying to be the bestfriend of your abuser.
@@algomaslejanoquiza3174 how far have you even read? Cuz calling their friendship toxic is such a misunderstanding. Tomura Shigaraki says to bakugo that he is closets to deku then anyone else.
One of my friends at university is a die hard mha fan, but she absolutely hates the fandom, 99% of all fandoms are perfectly sane and just aren’t seen.
I’m a (mostly) normal dude from the hood and ngl I actually really like MHA. Its jus Dragonball but w more interesting powers & a more interesting “magic” system + really in depth characters, I mean, one of the seasons is literally about a child trafficking, (super) drug-dealing gang. Thats sum real ass shit and they handled it exactly how I’d expect a bunch of goodie-two-shoes heroes to handle it- with a SHITLOAD of nuance and moral struggle. Do the heroes snatch up the (obviously) trafficked and terrified kid when she runs up to them, in front of her trafficker? Or do they wait, and not risk ruining their investigation and tipping off the gang, when the gang is already run so well and so tight that they (eventually) get tipped off “feds is kicking our shit in 30 minutes” and they (ALMOST) manage to pack up and GTFO in less time than that. Cuz if they fuck up and dont get enough evidence or they let people slip thru, the gang will have the trafficked girl back in their hands w/ legal support inna snap. Its a really good anime imo, the fandom tho? Yeah idk where they be gettin this shit. Show’s p sick, fandom is sick, but like, mentally
MHA is just another case of a young, chaotic fandom ruining an otherwise good piece of media, that can happen when pretty much anything moves from cult to mainstream. MHA is far from the first fandom to go this way - you mentioned TADC and Andy and Leyley, but the Undertale fandom got pretty bad back when it was big, and afaik the Steven Universe fandom was never not cringe. When the thing you like becomes popular, it might be time to stop interacting with the fanbase.
Yeah Steven’s universe was made by Rebecca sugar who is notorious for trying really hard to accumulate a cult of teens obsessed with shipping and lgbtq before a show can even blow up. Sometimes she hijacks shows like adventure time and maintains control by creating the illusion of success with her weird cult so producers and publishers think “oh good we still have an audience but now they speak super highly of the show!” But in reality its success is plummeting, they eventually have to end the show, fans care more about external interactions with the show than the actual show itself and then the fans move in to another community to hijack and repeat the cycle. Basically they create the illusion of popularity/success but ultimately they cause the show to die sooner when they lose interest and leave the show with no safety net when their audience leaves because these people successfully cause the writers to cater to them which is too hyper specific to attract new audience or the writers (such as Rebecca) did it on purpose because they abandon the show to follow the audience as well cos she’s an infectious roach.
The Japanese individuals are not wrong when they say that the western anime fans always find a way to ruin an anime and would harass authors by sending them death threats. Since mha has been completely ruined Jujutsu kaisen is getting the same treatment.
@@chelsthegameruiner8669real tho it's kinda like when bakugou died which I see a bit of difference bc mha is a bit more worse since they did more horrible things but that's just what happens to all animes and I'm just glad that at least ppl aren't hating on me bc I have a geto pfp on tiktok or calling me cringe
I used to be a pretty big mha fan in 2017/2018, but the fandom really made me just not want to watch it anymore. My god, those Bakudeku shippers are the craziest ones. It’s just as toxic as Joker and Harley Quinn but everyone is fine with that because they think they’re cute.

5:56 i remember my parents decided to watch this with me a few years ago. i didnt tell them how deku got his powers bc you'll see why in a minute. My mom asked me finally and i went "oh he ate some of all mights hair." she looked at me and started cackling and i started laughing too, meanwhile my dad who was also sitting there went "what are you laughing at-" he genuinely didnt know what we was laughing abt. Long story short didnt tell my parents how deku got his powers right off the bat bc i knew what my dear mother would conjure up.
All I want is a crossover fan comic of Deku and Itadori talking about nerd shit. With Deku scribling down notes upon notes, on cursed energy. With Yuji showing Deku off to Gojo to see if his quirk is tied to some cursed technique Is that so wrong?
I was like 17 when i got into the MHA fandom back in like 2020, and i specifically joined in the yagami yato hawks MHA fandom era, omfg i think that was the peak of the fandom cringe, especially with people using yagami yato audios for their cosplay tiktoks and that one time someone smeared their bloody tampon over bakugo on a MHA poster, i was even a part of the cringe as i was a self-shipper (not that theres anything wrong with that) and shipped myself with Hawks, dear lord the Hawks era was really something else, as well as the twitter ship wars where 30 year olds were arguing about which ship between two minors is the best, from what i've seen the fandom has toned down in recent years, at least from what i know, i think they moved to JJK? idk i don't pay attention to MHA anymore, nor JJK
Yes they did pass to jjk witch now they did do some unspeakable things probably just some girl squeezing her tampon on her gojo figure and the gojo fangirls getting all kinda crazy bc of gojo dying witch it's just that I believe but yeah ik some day or probably in a few months it will calm down like mha did
The Mha fandom has become more tame then back then and rn jjk holds the current title of the most wild fandom rn. After gojo got cooked the jjk fandom hasn’t been the same mfs are the epitome of insane
I'm just kinda glad that it kinda calmed down and didn't get as bad as getting to rape a from in the zoo or make me regret liking it while watching a episode
People only pay attention to the worst people. And really, videos like this aren’t helping, because it’s only making the bad people louder. Plus, TikTok is never a good representation of any fandom. The anime itself is amazing. The rest of us in the fandom have to suffer because of a few people. It’s the worst.
I used to enjoy watching MHA and looked forward to new episodes releasing, until I joined an anime club in middle school and got exposed to the fandom. I haven’t been able to watch it without feeling disgusting since
hii, im a my hero academia fan and I totally agree, however I do think that over the past few years, the fandom has gotten way better. And plus, some of these examples are completely satire
As a huge fan of My Hero, I have to say, it's super embarrassing to see some people do stuff like this. Like, I'm 100% fine with roleplaying and stuff like that, but there's always some people that taker things too far. There's just some people I'd rather not associate with.
As someone that's part of the MHA fanbase & that's part of the minority that is still sane, I feel you man. I'm still waiting for the amount of wack that will come from their mouths when Season 7 does finally drop, this majority will somehow figure out a way to screw things up.
The crazy shipping reminds me of the CS Lewis quote, where he basically says. "If you perceive friendship as lustful, then you just haven't had any friends"
The fandom is the exact reason im so embarrassed to say im a mha fan. The fandom is so hateful and immature it's UNBELIEVABLE. You can't say "I like deku and uraraka" without getting bashed for it.
as someone who started watching the first episode when only season 1 was out when it was just releasing i fell in love with the anime day one it was actually nice when even searching up the name of the anime the anime was barely popular and now today... seeing all this shit makes me sad its really sad its also one of the reason i got more distant around season 4 i still continued watching the show but i stopped keeping up with it as often as i use to people always find a way to ruin something somehow it even got to a point where i got mocked for watching the show because of the fanbase, no matter how good a game is or a show is it mostly gets ruined once it develops a terrible fanbase like undertale or fnaf for example and so many other games / shows ect.
As someone who has never read or watched manga and anime beyond Pokemon and getting in to My Hero, I seriously don't understand the community. Its almost like people just look at the characters without looking at the plot or really cool quirk system.
@@JustWhelmedOfCourse That’s not exactly a bad thing, the characters are memorable and amazingly written. There wouldn’t be a lot of MHA if it weren’t for the journeys and stories of the characters separately. many of them have backstories and relationships of these characters are explored and heavily written. So unlike a lot of shounen series a lot of MHA is character driven rather than plot driven
@@WhatMoti1vation I agree that the characters are well written, I love the characters too, a better way of wording my comment would have been: They look at the characters WITHOUT looking at the actual writing. Making the characters fit into a different mold.
0:12 - Uh..... I feel called out.... even though literally I just showered. XD I love MHA so much, I picked it up per chance when the english translation manga came out, I think it was like 2015 ish here? Loved Bakugo and the premise so much I stayed. The levels of cringe in the fandom is absolutely ridiculous, I don't mind shippers doing their thing and whatnot..... but the fact that so much of the cringe fan-created content gets out there gives the rest of us a bad rep. I'm lucky that I have prior experience and the wisdom of age to let most of it wash over me. After all, I'm also hailing from the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom and if you've been on the internet in recent years.... eh you know the rep a bunch of us get. Sadly the civil wars within the fandom are also toxic AF; while I'm immune sometimes I just feel that I need to speak facts and reason.... but alas, it's the extremely loud minority that ruin it for the rest of us. Tho..... it can't just be me.... I also love seeing some drama, sometimes it's fun to trigger people. Especially when it's an opinion, it's HILARIOUS seeing some people get butthurt. My best friend and I.... while being in to the same kinds of hobbies, we have very different opinions and tastes. We roast each other and our opinions. For Fun. Unfortunately, it seems a lot of people don't understand a bit of banter and the fact that an opinion is just an opinion.
i don't interact a lot with the fandom when i was still actively reading the manga and wrote my fair share of fanfic for it. i have beef with the fandom specifically because multiple people have stolen That One Specific Fic i wrote that isn't even that good to begin with reposted it in several different platforms lmao
honestly, ive come back to rewatch mha and i REGRET changing my fyp to mha cause its actually SO BAD. istg, i love this anime so much, like s5 and s6 LITERALLY WENT WILD. oh and shigaraki’s origin… gosh such good content with a horrible audience 😭😭
I feel I’ve dodged a bullet by only getting a mild interest now as the manga was wrapping up. I’m enjoying the story- alone. Happily avoiding the fandom. Cause yah… o_0 what I met/saw at cons… made me run for the hills. Story is almost over and I’m content to see it as well. I can only imagine how the loudest and “special” members of the fandom are handling it. 😟😬
It's bc all the crusty mha fans passed to jjk and at least it's not ass trashy or dead like mha and it only got high bad bc of some specific character dying but tbh it's not as monsterus like mha which mha will always have the throne bc it went to a point we're some ppl couldn't even watch an episode without thinking ab these videos and there's still ppl like this but they probably stopped bc of the bullying and there is still ppl who argue ab their gay ships
I watched the show, it was mid, but then I searched up stuff to do with the fandom like all the ships and stuff and now I’m scarred for life I ship no one from the show together. *NO. ONE.*
I started watching it in 2017 and was really enjoying the show, I even met some people in college who liked the show as well, I thought it was cool had some people to talk to about new episodes and stupid vs battles then some of them started watching and trying to get me to watch weird ass videos like these non stop, I haven't watched the show since.
Man, I heard and (kinda) knew how bad the MHA fandom was but jeez I did'nt expect it to be THIS BAD. Like..... w-huh? I have just recently started watching MHA and am still enjoying the anime (despite a lot of people telling me its bad or boring or whatever) and will continue to (tho not my favourite), but goodness, the fandom is just..... something else. I'm so glad that the people I met who have watched MHA nothing like those people like wah.....
Toxic fandoms honestly feel like a norm these days, looking at this video just makes me glad I don't use TikTok (that's where most of the cringe seems to be). I still watch and enjoy the show on my own and most of my interactions with the fandom were on RU-vid, with sane, level-headed fans posting light-hearted content. And on the subject of ships, yes 9:48, that's the only ship I actually care about
I think my best decision as I became a fan of this series was just to enjoy it in silence and ignore the cringe. I don't want to go around arguing with 14 year olds about which character is gay because I'm 21 and have a job and hobbies. Two things that MHA fans don't have.
no offense btw just got upset since i watched the first couple of season and i liked how todoroki acted and thought it really fitted his character because he was hot headed but he never raised his voice very much and it really suited his powers being fire and ice. fire can represent a hot headed person while ice can represent a cold hearted one and he works with both amazingly. i dunno about the seasons after though
