The hind actually started fear in the Vietnam war for American Troops, because the hind would literally pick off soldiers left and right and able to destroy a huey
@@michaelcox9855 in a sense, its a more superior vehicle than a huey considering it can carry troops (although a lil less) has a front mounted MG, can carry LOTS of rockets, bombs, and missiles. That and it could carry rockets+missiles at the same time. It is a very intimidating helicopter fit for its name
The Republic Dropship LAAT (Low Altitude Assault Transport) You´re right it was heavily inspired by the Mi-24. Primarily the cocpit and the transport area. But much more CHUNKIER and THICCER.
Imagine leaving your new high tech soviet gunship on a runway in the middle of nowhere only for a team of American special forces to strap it to their chinook and peace out
Imagine leaving your cool soviet gunship in Vietnam just for an onion and some dude that likes numbers to take it and wipe out almost all of your troops in a section of a valley .
And then in usa an american pilot piloting it just saying in his diary I dont understand nothingh what is written in here but i still know how to make it fly
Make that we can playHelis in theyr own game mod. With Balanced Br! Its impossible to play the Alouette against KA50! It feels like Pay to Win and this is exactly what it is in the heli mode...!
This game is far from pay2win complaining about brs are for people with lack of skill this game is perfectly balanced no joke reading the Maus would unbalance the game and as the rule book written by phoydaily goes war thunder is always right
The Mi-24 and variants of it have been and still remain one of my personal favorite. The looks, firepower, versatility, durability and service longevity have proven its value constantly. While the Apache may have some higher tech weapons, the flexible roles the Mi-24 can fill are just unparalleled. Tank buster, CAS, troop transport, medivac etc. It's the Russian A-10 of heli's, except with cargo space.
What's with the armor of the mi-24 in-game? Every source claims the fuselage can withstand 50 cal from any angle. But in-game there is no armor present except a few thin plates and the cockpit glass. Being shot down by low caliber mgs seems improbable but happens pretty much every match.
@@BUSZ-ii5tf I never said they weren't threats. Anything above a 50 is obviously going to wreak havoc on an aircraft. And protecting components like turbines and delicate electronics is not always possible. But what I am referring to is the armor that that the Mi-24 is equipped with is missing in-game. Pull up the Hind and look at the armor viewer and you'll see that there is only a handful of thin plates in the nose and no where else, allowing low caliber machine guns like 7.62, 7.7 and 50s to destroy Hinds in ways they simply shouldn't be able to. like shooting trough the floor and killing the crew.
@@AuraTrox Your 250 good matches don't deny my 100+ plus matches of having the pilot knocked out by MG3s from leapords and the like. Most of those matches were with the premium variant so all modules were unlocked. Also having the entire tail shot of by low calibers is always fun, but shouldn't be possible with a short burst of low cal.
@@AuraTrox you are wrong, I grinder the whole Russian helicopter tech tree without premium and there is a real problem with ALL mi24. The mi28 is the only one to really resist to 50cal and other machine gun except the German mg3 wich is utterly op. In real life mi24 could withstand WAY more than in war thunder.
The Mi-24G, also known as the Superhind. It has a chin mounted 20mm Vektor F2 Turret, modern avionics and countermeasures as well as being able to use the African ZT-3 laser guided missiles. The same that are used on some African vehicles in the British tech tree, so it would be a cool addition to the game. Everyone who played Armed Assault loved and feared this helicopter
Everytime I see this helicopter anywhere, I would find myself humming or whistling "Пыль глотаю" ("Swallowing Dust"). To me, the Hind will forever be associated with that song.
Mi-24 is actually an attacher/transport plane. Russians just wanted better visibility and more dakka on the front, so they had to slap the main rotor on the top. Still, it worked out just fine.
The Mi-24 in NATO is codenamed "HIND". Due to its distinctive appearance, Soviet pilots called the Mi-24 "humpback" (Russian: горбун) or "crocodile" (Russian: Крокодил). In Poland, pilots call them "Hokej" (Eng. Hockey) from the shape of a hockey stick tail. "Аллигатор" is the Soviet name of Ka-52 Alligator, NATO code name Hokum-B.
Awesome stuff, Gaijin! I'm partial to the Mi-24V, but I also have a soft spot for the classic Mi-24A. When can we expect accurate, fully detailed pilot and WSO cockpit interiors for all helicopters? I'm also hoping some of the gameplay features from Apache: Air Assault will eventually be implemented into War Thunder.
Hi Warthunder team , i would like to suggest a future helicopter under South Africa, the Mi-24 Superhind, basically an Mi-24 upgraded to modern specifications in the South African Defense force, it was soled to countries in north Africa like Algeria, i was able to carry an assortment of missiles, A2A's as well ATGM's
"It's hard to imagine the modern battlefield without helicopters" > getting spawn camped by helis > getting destroyed every spawn by helis > getting shotdown by helicopters in a jet > getting fucked over by helicopters > flank ruined by helicopters yea it really is hard to imagine
It will be good to place the Mi-8 transport heli in the game. This model can carry the same Sk-5 and Sk-8 rocket system and 23mm guns. Mi-8 is like heavy soviet version of UH-1 or lightened version of S-61 american helicopther.
You forgot to mention the laser anti-missile systems, the golden tube at the top of the tail , that's what you s for , btw when it will be added to the game?
Iconic fictional quotes about the Hind "You see that Hind? We're gonna take it." "A Hind D? Colonel, what's a Russian gunship doing out here?" "Boss, get down! That's an enemy gunship."
The wonderful flying tank able to get downed by half a dozen of 12.7mm shots... All while the UH-1 and AH-1 helicopters can take more than 100 12.7mm shots and multiple direct tank canon hits while being unarmored... Don't forget the KA family of helicopters where you get forced to eject when the tail gets shot off, even though it should be able to continue flying.
Very interesting video definitely learned some new stuff, I like South Africa's heavily modified Mi-24/35 called the super hind! (Or you can call it the super krokodil lol)
very nice video thank you! Recently I was at a military exhibition, and there I also saw the Mi24 with a GDR emblem on it. But thanks to War Thunder I already knew the history of a few vehicles! Really appreciate your work!
No,we have to fix the the game mostly by decompressing the BRs to allow the F14 and others alike to come without breaking the game,Lightning F6 is a prime example of this
Mi-24V is my favourite one. My only two issues with it are that Shturm missiles often start bugging out and flying in every direction after launching them, and that it can't have a x8 Shturm and x4 R-60M loadout which would be most optimal for this helicopter
I can't wait till someone at Gaijin makes the ATE MI-35 superhind MK.III available. That's duel fed 20mm nose gun would be so much fun to active encounter ammo changes to engage specific targets
@@billytheshoebill5364 probably will be for a little while, but that's how they get everyone to buy premium vehicles, until the next patch. Honestly they real things I want in the game I don't think they'll ever do. But it'd still be fun to see.
