The images of the father over his son’s coffin provide such a moving illustration of the unbearable misery caused to ordinary innocent people because of the viscousness and cold blooded cruelty of the men of violence.
Though this is very hard to watch, I had to come back to take a look at Fran playing the piano and looking so extremely beautiful...A few weeks from that, he was dead. Thanks a lot to all of you who have these old video recordings and are willing to share them with us!
I'm English and surely nobody in their right mind could condone this or look at that poor man burying his son and say this act was anything other than evil. Murder is murder, whether it's loyalist gangs, the IRA or the British army in Derry
The father is probably saying something like "I want to join him". I hope those animals saw that part and know the lives of the all people gathered there are forever ruined because of what they did
I'm very proud of your fairness and understanding. I'm a school teacher and will show this to my 6th class tomorrow. All these acts were evil, inspired by misguided ideals and fueled by bigotry. Aodán
How could anybody have shot this guy 22 times in the face?! And Brian McCoy 9 times in the back, Tony Geraghty as well.I have always believed animals were superior to humans. This cowardly act by those savage beasts in uniform back in July 1975 merely confirm my belief. Monsters. The image of those unsuspecting, trusting bandmembers standing by a lonely Ulster roadside in their huge flares and platform shoes is so tragically pathetic. I cannot get the image out of my head.
Stephen was lucky to survive that night. IMO it was Jackson who kicked the bodies to make sure they were dead. Don't ask me how I know...a gut feeling. Even the name Buskhill (Bus kill) was likely chosen onpurpose
People on here are saying Robert Nairac wasn't in the SAS i read he was, if he wasn't then what unit did he belong to as i'm hearing conflicting stories?
nice comments, but still no truth seems to be ever coming out, those band members had no political involvement, they were innocent.people,is anybody ever going to ask, about nairak,s involvement,or ?
The "soldiers" were planting a bomb in the band's van at a roadblock and it went off. If it had gone off when they planned, it would be ALL the band members who were killed. The theory is that they were trying to frame the band as IRA terrorists. www.netflix.com/search?q=The%20Miam&jbv=80191046&jbp=0&jbr=0
You're bang on about Dillon's book - one of the best on the troubles. It and Lost Lives. Hard not to admire Robert Nairac , no matter what your politics - an incredibly brave man.
