He's the Beethoven of Heavy Metal. No senseless shredding with 100 notes per second, but all tasteful leads Can't wait to see him perform live again ....!
This is the MSG I idolised in the early 80's. Live they were as tight as a drum and Schenker's solo on RB was as good as Stranger. He's back to form these days so I'm hopeful the "reformed" MSG will make it up to Scotland.
Sorry, but here is his best solo and the most powerful live recording of "Rock Bottom": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n0OatiI5XcE.html
Last night i had a dream: i was backstage at this show behind an amp and motioned to michel...he came over..still jamming..and i cut those string hanging out on his guitar neck with wire cutters ! He didnt skip a note!..the show went on....
Is true (Michael Schenker Group)🎵🎼🎶🎸😎👊 Cozy Powell "R.i.P "🎵🎼🎶😎👊 Paul Raymond "R.i.P"🎵🎼🎶🎸🎹😎👊 In my opinion is the best version 🎵🎼🎶🎸😎👊 Great line up: Powell - Glen - Raymond - Way And Schenker 🎵🎼🎶🎸😎👊
Will never forget that day: Barbara S and Marc P and I were heading from Hanover to Hamburg in my VW Porsche, about 45 minutes south of Hamburg we got involved in a bad car accident. The car turned over three times, I was buried underneath the car, Barbara and Marc got kicked out of the car. luckily some guys from the fire department who drove by, lifted the car and saved my life. We all had to go to the hospital, Barbara had surgery the same day, Marc and I took off from the hospital and took a train to Hamburg, to tell Michael and Rudolph what happened. After the show I went with Rudolph and Cozy Powell to a reception from the record company,, Then we went to the hospital to check up on Barbara. Rudolph and Margaret then drove me to Barbel’s apartment in Hanover, where I spend the night and the next morning I called home to tell my parents about the car accident.
This is what i am searching , listening feed my my hungry mind , (sitting at home winding down ?atm) should be in bed at 1,52 am but i ain`t cause this music kept me awake ,and saved my life many times . when had to drive through the night .
im sure~this is the most great- performance of Michael . whats amazing play!(;゜゜) ,its miracle i think~in those days ,he is young and he had full of energy
He really didn’t use his pinky till people criticized him. To me he was great then. And we’re all different. He really didn’t need to use it to be great. I have to use mine. It’s how we learn that makes us different. And I’m glad He was always great!
So in UFO it seems Michael Schenker performed left stage..then apparently MSG..phase switched to right stage.. which was the case the 4 times I saw him in 1984 .. Built to Destroy tour.. and also 2 times in 1987/88.. on the Perfect Timing tour.. So wow.. even on Strangers in the Night -UFO tour..1978.. I try and picture Schenker up there in that awesome performance captured live.. wearing all black..white V.. permed blonde hair.. really making his Mark, and awesome playful great style... And the rare pics of him returning to Scorps in 1979.. jamming on stage with w/brother ruldolf..shining star Michael down on stage posing cool as shit photos at that time..and his bringing of HALF the songs on Lovedrive.. how kick ass they are and his contribution to that LP musically is a huge part of the dynamic and greatness of it
Schenker can rock that Flying V guitar like nobody else, including Jimi Hendrix. From what I understand it is not an easy guitar to play compared to, say, a Strat or Tele or an SG, etc. Which is why it does not have a large following by guitar players. I think Schenker could make any guitar sound like he does here with his Flying V. He is such a talented player and highly underrated, in my humble opinion.
Richie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen... The God Fathers of Shred guitar (Edit: If I'm missing anyone feel free to add :) )
esto es musica de calidad que tal temaso de estos alemanes un saludo de lima peru de luis marin rubio para los que aprecian a este grupo como dijo yhon winston lennon una persona es el reflejo de la musica que escuchas
This is very good. However, the solo is better on the Strangers in the Night tour and Album. I saw the 2112 tour and UFO warmed up for Rush !! That was my first concert and still one of my top 5. That was in October of 76'
No high gain master volume amps just a 50 watt Marshall from the 60,s on full blast and a wha pedal thats it pure tone and sound. The echo you are hearing is an copycat tape delay but its not run in front of the amp its only trough the monitors and the PA.
The amps there are 2204's from the late 70's. The JMP 2204's after 77 had a similar gain stage to the earlier plexi heads and like the plexi's you could connect the two different sets of inputs to create different tones. I don't recall Schenker ever doing this. The amps used on the first two MSG albums and tours were the same ones used on the UFO LP "Strangers in the Night."
different than the stuff composed with the famous '' BAND'' but better played and listeneable , I appreciate mostly mikeal than the rest of the scorpions , pretty much involve me in this 70 mood and a lot speedy .......good
Deserves way more credit than he's ever been given for pioneering the progressive metal approach. Does he rival EVH in this era.... maybe....Uli Roth as well....maybe
Adam C. This is fantastic but the original can't be beat. UFO , in their 70s prime were a special band of musicians each as talented as could be. MS was 16 or 17 when he recorded this back in 1974.
I would love Richie Blackmore and Jimmy page when I see them play so well like the one we have here ...It is unfair crap guitarist like Jimmy page and Blackmore are more well known than the one in this video ..
The bassist has his "Pete Way trousers" (as does the keyboard bloke), so they must be good... Unfortunately, the singer doesn't have his Phil Mogg vocal chords at 3:30.... Luckily, they have the best drummer in the world, ever.... (who seems to get them out of every dull hole that they get themselves into)
