MSG PERFORMING LIVE FROM TOKYO JAPAN 2010. MICHAEL SCHENKER ( GUITAR ) GARY BARDEN ( VOCALS ) NEIL MURRAY ( BASS ) WAYNE FINDLAY ( RHYTHM GUITAR/,B. VOCALS / KEYBOARDS ) SIMON PHILLIPS ( DRUMS ).
I still think the Strangers in the Night version is the best but, I am amazed at the different interpretations he has played over the years. Micheal S. is truly one of the greatest masters of rock guitar of all time no question about it.
Sound Engineering for these live concerts are top notch in Japan. I guess that is the reason why Michael Schenker celebrates his best live performances there.
It's not because of the engineering.... it's that they are the hardest core fans of German masters. His brother with the Scorpions have their biggest following in Japan as well. Might have something to do with the Axis way back 80 years ago??? 🤔 But maybe they just know great musicians when they hear them. Maybe a little bit of both.
Schenker's solo is phenomenal here! I don't care who you throw at me today, nothing matches Schenker here! He is so musical and melodic and has the most tasteful shredding in the business!
The longer I play guitar and listen to guitarists the higher my esteem for Michael Schenker. While having differing styles and genres of music, the guitarist I consider my favorites are Schenker, Gary Moore, Roy Buchanan, Jeff Beck, and SRV. They have technical excellence, amazing improvisation, melodic sense, and can weave intense jamming seamlessly into every song.
Since almost 50 years I know and love them all, Hendrix, Page, EVH, Vai, Satriani, Petrucci, and so on! But shit, only this year I realy got to know Michael Schenker. What a pitty! He is awesome, he plays so perfect and melodic and he is a great song writer! He is one of the best rock musician of all time. I hope that I can see him live in the next years.
@Stefan Flintrop You have to go see him, I just saw him last week on May 11 in Barcelona on his Universal World Tour 2022 of his 50th Anniversary of musical career at 67 years old and he is in excellent shape and with all the renewed energy!!!! 💪 Such a GREAT guitarist with soul Michael Schenker is!!!! UNSTOPPABLE with all the renewed energy in excellent shape. He's an all-time great and he's still kicking butt. MICHAEL IS UNIQUE AND HE STILL ALWAYS THE BEST GUITARIST EVER !!!! ❤️🎸🔥
Such a GREAT guitarist with heart and soul Michael Schenker is!!!! MICHAEL IS UNIQUE AND HE STILL ALWAYS THE BEST GUITARIST EVER !!!! ❤️🎸🔥 UNSTOPPABLE THROUGH TIME…!!!! 💪 Thank you very much for sharing this precious wonder !!!!
MSG, UFO, MS PROJECT, SCORPIONS Í’ve been a Schenker Rock'n' fan from the mid 70's, I learned & played his songs with my brother's Tom H.,Rob M, Bobby J., Seen MSG, McCauley Schenker Group in the mid 80's, Rodulph & Michael - An attack of the mad Ax Man ( Men - Brothers) ROCK ON ROCK BOTTOM!!!
The greatest live guitar solo ever. Incredibly, Schenker said he wasn't happy with it. This version isn't bad either. Only saw him the once, at Bradford, around 1981. R.I.P. Paul Raymond and Pete Way.
I'm 60 years old and I have never seen anything like that guitar 🎸 solo in my life this is the kinda shit that's keeps me going I ❤ rock and roll heavy metal
amazing, neil murray on bass and simon phillips create the heavy pulsing basis for the band. great old ufo song ... cannot be better. this is what rock music should be about!!! thx!!!
Simon Phillips is 1- of the best drummers of all time. He was on Judas Priests Sin After Sin record. He can play anything. There’s videos showcasing his one of a kind talent. He’s as good at his instrumentals anyone you’ve heard. Look into him. He’s done so much session work. And played for so many people!
When I listen to Michael Schenker play this song I immediately wish Phil Mogg was singing. When I hear new UFO playing this song I wish Michael Schenker was playing. It's like going on tour with half the Mona Lisa. I need to get over myself, huh.
So much can be said. Rock Bottom with a twist. Only Michael can creatively deviate from the norm and embellish classic material like this, so it stays fresh even after being played countless times, all the while still being able to please the demanding traditionalist.
I was sooo fortunate to see UFO with Schenker during the Strangers In the Night tour. Lights Out was the album released right at my graduation from HS so we played the hellouta it at the parties. I remember sitting around getting stoned to Force It, No Heavy Petting, Phenomenon with Steely Dan thrown in. My friends played guitar in HS so I was lucky that they listened to the best of them. Schenker is coming in Mar 2018 nearby but it's all standing. I shattered my shin bone at my knee on May the 4th be with you, so I cannot stand up for very long. SHIT!!!!!! Sometimes life IS the shits!
michael schenker is my favorite guitatrist, without him UFO wasen't so big band. I knew michael schenker through Iron Maiden cover of UFO doctor doctor i started listen to them and my favorite albums are with michael schenker not with vinnie mor
just the best axe, me and my good friend coopersgirl remember this so well all those years ago. i saw them do this when i was about 15 in 1975 and it changed my life. still madly in love with ufo and schenker all these years on. he will always be the best guitarist for me. great to hear he is off the booze and looking really well again. thanks for posting so many priceless ufo and schenker vids axe.
Thanks for another fabulous video - this is my all-time fave UFO track (apart from Love to Love..... and others, ha ha!) Perfect therapy for reminding me I'm still 18, over 3 decades after I was actually 18! Age is only a state of mind after all! Love to all fans, oldies and newbies x
No singers ever seem to come anywhere close to Phil Mogg when covering UFO songs but while never being much of a Gary Barden fan, I have to admit he's done a pretty darn tootin' job here. The guy on guitar isn't too bad either.
@silvakevin1 Yes he was,so happy & relaxed,I saw this tour last July & he was on, I think recording quality wise it maybe the best DVD he has released ever!
@ukmetalman Right on mate, yes, I have been very fortunate aswell to have seen him back in the day & no doubt in my mind that he is the Best Guitarist & at 56 years old still playing like this is Amazing! thnx for your great Comment ! Regards!
