It's our fourth day on the water, as we negotiate the thrilling rapids of The Middle Granite Gorge; Forester, Fossil, Spector, Bedrock and Deubendorff.
Another big thanks to Kurtis for his rapids videos. They bring us right into the action. (Honestly, I was just looking at my paddle and the paddle in front of me for all of the white water.)
After lunch, we had a "choose your adventure" opportunity, and we chose The Middle Way up Galloway Canyon to a refreshing oasis fed by Stone Creek. It's been a while since we showered last, so these little fresh-water rinses are a godsend.

The tour package you went with is amazing! All that gear set up each night, wow! The skill of the oarsmen/women! Finding all the nook and cranny waterfalls, pools, WOW! What an excellent way to experience the canyon and river!!

Incredible rapids. Impressive control by the gear boat guys. Oh and Slider would make an excellent masked man in the Old West!

all hail the raft carrying the beer. just when i was relaxing with some sushi. off you go on hike and climbing. hmmm going down face first.... not wisest method but given the age of the climbers🤔. hehehehe still envious of slider's hair that he could use a waterfall washing... he maybe a small cup is all that is needed.

So that's how you take showers on the trip! Did anyone need to be airlifted out on the trip? I can see many opportunities for trips and falls that could result in broken bones. I'm interested in the bathrooming on this trip. Did they bring portable toilets or have to pack out excrement? Or did you dig catholes? And what was the sleep setup like? Backpacking tents or cowboy camping? John from MI

I would be on board with every aspect of this trip except the heat. If the heat is so bad that you look forward to spending hours in wet soggy clothes, that’s a bridge too far for me!
