What I find most bizarre is how nonchalant he is describing his collections. I appreciate his respectful attitude but the lace collar on the Monkey is a bit much.

Why would you be disgusted when he's always pushed for respect for human remains? On top of that, it's not odd to preserve history. Most of his specimens are ex-medical with no other place to go after being decommissioned.
