what's wild is that they filmed it in the Christmas season of 1989 and took until march 1991 to release to movie. misleads us a bit on how old Jennifer Conley is here, she is super young.... and in general shows us it takes usually about a year to a year and a half from filming to release.
I am a 27 from a small landlocked country of Lesotho in Africa, and i know i am young but i grew up watching a lot of TV and listening to jams like this,, I can't help but feel nostalgic, in a way i think i was born in the wrong generation, this songs are so full of warmth, happiness and joy, the melodies just soothe my heart,, this kind of music is my love language,, 😇💥❤💯💯💯💯💯
The bit where he skates past Jennifer Connelly... I think you'd be hard pressed to find a woman ever look more beautiful than she does there. Literally breathtaking, the word stunning is overused nowadays, but she's an example it, she would stun you into losing your train of thought if you skated past her looking at you like that. Awesome song too, I adore The Midnight and this is one of their best, the solo gives me shivers everytime.
Yes the whole video brought tears to my eyes. I was young in the 80s. I had crushes on girls that were so beautiful it took your breath away, literally. And the first time I was brave enough to walk up to her and kiss her, I was in heaven. A feeling that you only experience for a short period, days or weeks at most. Then the everyday stuff slips in and you crave for another one, even more stunning. And being in bed, sleeping together naked, it was like being inside the sun. You shiver from the force, blinded by the beauty and feel like you want to hold on to that moment forever and ever... But alas, nothing last forever, does it? 💓😻😿
I wasn't born in the 80's but 20 years later. But I wish I did live in the 80's. I feel more belonging than in today's narcissistic world. I rather listen to 80's music than today's music, it feels more complete! 80's rulez!!!!!
I’ve showed this to all my friends but none seemed interested… I love seeing the comments it makes me feel like I belong. Happy new year still listening 2023
I just saturate my space when my mates are around lol they can't not grow to love it 😂😂😂😂😂 I did the same with my son and smokey and the bandit....... he loves the sheriff Buford T the most 😂😂😂
This is heaven! Born in '72 myself, music like this is just peaceful. times were simpler back then but would love for this world to have a comeback! We need it!!!
Me too + I was there. It was just as you see in the photos. A magical time to be alive. But also scary, becasue fear of rejection that often held you back. But if you were brave enough to walk up to her and lean in for a kiss and she did the same - it was heaven.
This movie had the worst music.. If only the producers paid a little bit more to get some good tracks it would have been a masterpiece. This song does it justice. Thanks.
The 80's is the GREATEST era ever. All the best movies came out in the 80's technology was just starting to flourish but wasn't too much, friends actually met up after school and on weelends at the mall, kids played outside on weekends after Saturday morning cartoons. We need a time machine so that those of us who loved the 80's could travel back. I dare say some of us might not come back to the present because of how great that era was.
I wish I could travel back to the 80s and stay there forever. This time feels so alien, as if I don't truly belong here. What good is all the high-tech and progress when hearts are cold? With each advancement, interpersonal relationships become increasingly irrelevant, and we drift further away from nature. I miss the magic of the 80s, when technology existed but wasn't as advanced, and social bonds still mattered.
Then my generation (the 90s) came along which was more geared to us kids. While I did love being a 90s kid, the 80s for a teen seemed like a lot of fun.
HAHAHA! I know right? One of the most relatalbe comments ever left on RU-vid in this ally! Thieves like us had me watching all kinds of 80s movies. I do everything backwards sometimes.
Lyrics: I just feel like, I've been stuck here my whole life There must be something else out there, waiting, you know? Just for us We could run away Just leave, never look back I don't even care where we go Just far away from here I'll come with you (One, two, three, four) Faked our deaths, lit a match Closed the door, waited for the flash Greyhound Station, we paid in cash Miss Lazarus, we're coming back They say it's darkest before the dawn We've been in this town for far too long They say it's darkest before the dawn We're moving on, we're moving on, we're moving on Sunset, no regrets First chance, last dance, stuck in the middle Even bad girls know good love You taste so sweet it hurts a little Make our home, where we stand One suitcase and half a plan Follow the wolves and sing along Past the voices to the song They say it's darkest before the dawn We've been in this town for far too long They say it's darkest before the dawn We're moving on, we're moving on, we're moving on Sunsets, no regrets First chance, last dance, stuck in the middle Even bad girls know good love You taste so sweet it hurts a little Sunsets, no regrets First chance, last dance, stuck in the middle Even bad girls know good love You taste so sweet it hurts a little Sunsets, no regrets First chance, last dance, stuck in the middle Even bad girls know good love You taste so sweet it hurts a little
Jennifer Connelly... Every teenager's dream girlfriend in the 80s! I'm in love with her to this day! Beautiful editing job, my friend. Thanks for the time travel! A big hug!
Damn, how is a song able to make me feel nostalgic for a movie I never watched. Wow! I had to rent Career Opportunities because of this, what a cute movie
That movie kind of got bagged on but I thought it was a great moving.. You should look up the song by SOHO, great song and one of my favorite scenes in the movie.. Very poignant and Jennifer Connely is just WOW..
i still cant understand the fact that someone just takes it up and makes 80´s music in 2016 and such a great quality it feels like a real 80´s track, jesus !
I worked at a target for 7 years. It was an awful place to work and the worst job I’ve ever had. But for whatever reason they were able to hire a ton of attractive girls my age(I was 15 when I started). Honestly I think that’s the only reason I stayed as long as I did.
You can't really compare when you worked at Target in comparison to the time of that movie. Places like Target, K Mart, and the rest had and have changed massively, as well as how people have changed. It's a very different workplace and environment compared to the time of the movie lol.
Just back from seeing The Midnight at Glasgow last night. This band, their fans, the atmosphere - all so super energetic and hyped up - hearing the songs such as this one and all the other anthems they have given us were amazing. I can only imagine how it feels for the band to hear 1000's of people shouting back your own lyrics at you! Such a great night, and I can't wait for their next gig back in the UK.
She's absolutely stunningly beautiful shooting stars had a crush on her ever since I seen her in Labrynth with David Bowe I'm 41 know she's still a intelligent, stunning woman, actress such a Angel 😇😇💞💞❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘😘😘😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😊😊😊
Watching these guys dance kiss and enjoy without worries, it just makes me travel back in time to that same time 80s 90s and feel that there are no worries like today
If there's something that life and time has taught me, it's to make the most of every day. Make the most of the time. Thank God for the time he has given you. God bless yah ❤
@Space X Yes indeed. I too remember my mid teens.... simpler days, romance was simpler. When we were in our mid to late teens the interaction between the two sexes was far more sincere than any other time in our lives.
In a world lost without love, and lost of sympathy, I can only wonder if we will ever feel real feeling once again without having the need to look back.
It was a golden time the music and movies were much better than they are now. I am horrified by what is happening in the world right now, don't you understand that governments want to turn us into stupid obedient dogs? Plus all the dirt got full freedom this is the beginning of the end ladies and gentlemen.
I just dream of going back to the 80s right up to the 90s .And to live there always, no matter at what age. The whole life, the whole world was different. Something that is very lacking today. Now life, goals and dreams are completely different. Very sorry. Thank you The Midnight helps to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the past.
I would go back in a heartbeat as well. Things today are pretty soulless as there is a constant desire for money and nothing else. There are a few things that speak passion like it was before and that is pretty sad.
Because of this mv I watched Career Opportunities and gave it shot. It's actually a pretty charming B-lister, the ending is a bit abrupt and more of a random montage of events and then it's just over which was weird, but I think it was more about the journey than the destination with this movie.
That's what it was about you didn't need to know the destination because the destination was finding true love, which was what the journey was all about.
I really thank Jesus that I was born in the beginning of the 80's so I got to experience a lot of the songs during that era. Wow! This is a masterpiece.
80 was movie making at it best . Love the creative storys were have from 80 movies . I wish the movie maker have more freedom and would look more in Korean movies , series that are giving good storys without the big money behind it .
We have all had moments in our lives that were exactly like this, we just weren't aware that it was happening. For some it was young love, it was the triumph of overcoming a great struggle, or working really hard to achieve a goal. For some it was summer car rides through the fading twilight. You just got to look for your moments and realize, this is it. My life's been one long ass training montage as of late apparently there's a lot of obstacles I'm suppose to overcome. Wonder who I'll be when I come out the other side. "They say it's darkest before the dawn"
I met her 11 years ago for the first time, We met in passing for the shortest time, We said hi and that was it, We met again 11 years from that day, Fast forward to now I married her.
This really has chills going up my spine rn, she is GORGEOUS... just WOW... I'M GOING TO WATCH THIS MOVIE. its called career opportunities for anyone looking
Jennifer Connelly is Amazing.Still amazing now I would marry her now regardless of my younger years. What a great song as well never knew about that movie despite my senior years. Thanks who ever posted this.u made me and my best very happy 😀😀✌️❤️

"Saudade is a Portuguese term. The concept has many definitions, including a melancholy nostalgia for something that perhaps has not even happened. It often carries an assurance that this thing you feel nostalgic for will never happen again. My favorite definition of saudade is by Portuguese writer Manuel de Melo: "a pleasure you suffer, an ailment you enjoy.""
Friend turned me on to this band today...totally '87ish. Skating rinks and that vibe...the video captures it all. Girl grabbing my hand...that feeling washing over my whole body...like electric heat. Then flipping around backwards awkwardly on 4-wheels and staring the person in face while friends looked on in a bokeh of lights. We lived the moments because there was no tomorrow...
The 80’s were a different time, now thinking back I can only dream about those days. They went by too fast. It sucks getting older. The early 90’s rocked as well.
Had never actually seen this movie until a couple of weeks ago. Every time I recognized one of the scenes from this video, I so wanted to hear Sunset. Didn’t quite feel the same. Kudos to this edit because it fit so perfectly that it overshadowed the original.
ohhh to be 16 again in 1985, we had the whole world in the palm of our hand. Life was simple, friends abundant, and time slowed enough to enjoy every second of. We had a lifetime ahead of us. Let the 80's music continue to play on forever and live like there is no tomorrow......
OMG, I just discovered this song few days ago… why didn’t I heard of this before?? It’s simply amazing song. I’m literally listening in a loop ! It’s so addictive.
I worked at a Macy's dept store in early 2000s. I had to do overnight inventory a few times. Wish i had thought of roller skating around the place and make out with a cute stock boy. Well, i kinda did the 2nd part a few times in a storage room . Damn i miss those days of not giving a F .
I'm 38. I grew up on the tail end of music like this. That feeling people keep saying they long for in the comments is really easy for me to define having lived it. It's wishing you were back in a time where people chose to be happy with life. The government and society had the same issues we have today, but individual people chose to be happy, to be kind and to experience life in big ways and take big chances. That's what's missing today, and that's what people miss.
Got me sitting here thinking bout my only relationship close to this...senior cheerleader... good times.. maybe will happen to me again one day... not a cheerleader this time but js
....what a fantastic time that was.....for everyone of us, who was a teenager in this time.... I m in LOVE !!! My biggest wish: I would like to have one day in this time to enjoy that lifestyle.....ONLY ONE DAY !!! Now I m 47, life´s realy good.....but where are gone the last 30 years...MAN.... GOOSE FLESH ;) Thanks for sharing this beautiful timemashine with us.... All the best from Germany, Roger
I played this track while walking at night from late summer til recently, along a road just very next to a local highway. Walking there, crossing a bridge over that highway. together with quite lovely scents from the land eand and a very clear view at the stars (not much light pollution, rural area), some clouds, and dark sky is such a freeing experience.
Спасибо автору за это погружение, слезы наворачиваются, эта музыка и атмосфера видео настолько глубокие, что проникают в самую бездну души и переносят в другое измерение.
We didn't know that back then, but life in the 80's was the peak of human development. Slow enough to enjoy every moment but intense at the same time... no cell phones, no internet, but connected enough to society at the same time you had space for your own development.
