Kroq-Gar has fought against daemons and monstrousities since the time before elves even walked the surface of Malice. He is a warrior and general without peer. Even survived the End Times, as much of a cluster fucking that was.
'Ungrim Ironfist is one of the greatest warriors of all time' Somewhere in Vala Azril-Ungol, Belegar Ironhammers beard starts twitching, and he doesn't yet know why...
I was looking for Nakai the Wanderer as he I believe is one of the mightiest warriors in the Old and New World, as he is the last remaining kroxigor of the First Spawning at the dawn of the world
In this episode we will explore some of the most capable melee fighters in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, this list of characters is not presented in order and it only shows the capabilities of each one. Of course, there are some others that can actually make it to the list, so perhaps we will have a part 2 in the future. Feel free to let us know in the comments who, in your opinion, is the mightiest melee fighter in Warhammer Fantasy.
I'd love to see a video on some of the most capable ranged fighters too. even though it would probably just be half an hour talking about Oxyotl being Doomguy if Doomguy could lick his own eyeballs
@@franciscorafaelmontielpale7854 Hey Mil gracias Francisco! De hecho si! Los campeones del Caos con Valkia, Festus y compañía vienen ya este viernes (en dos dias) en un solo video van los cuatro! El video para los mejores magos si lo vamos a hacer pero ese hasta dentro de uno o dos meses aprox!
Would Grombrindal count? Not sure seeing he may or may not be an avatar of a god. Also in regards to Gotrek, he's so amazing, only Brian Blessed could give him a proper voice.
That's funny during the intro I was thinking and I was like. Man I like kroq, but Grimgor is who I thought of first. End time grim is the best. And He was your lead in. Love it ♥️
Grimgor, in the end times, went toe to toe with archaeon, and eventually headbutted him so hard he shattered the eye of Sheerian. He was an absolute unit.
It's actually the Warhammer version of Captain America and Iron Man, respectively Kroq (Iron Man - he has the metal arm which goes pew pew) and Go'Rok (Cap - cause of the shield obv)
I was expecting Nakai to be here. I mean he probably is one of the oldest creatures of the world. Demons don't know fear but Nakai made them fear him. Not just him but the bridge he was defending. Imagine being so powerful that you made demons fear a bridge.
Abhorash is my pick for the strongest, legendary leader of the Blood Knights and undefeated. Ever seeking out dragons to duel for a challenge, there are even rumours he ascended to godhood on his own
@@dan7564 True, Wulfric is a jobber at best. Other inclusions should have been Nakai (slaughtered untold numbers of Daemons on his own), Vardek Crom (matched Grimgor in single combat), Nagash (defeated Settra, killed Usirian/Morr, crushed a Bloodthirster with one hand) and Sigmar (killed a Dragon Ogre Shaggoth, killed Morkar and Nagash, all while still being human).
Magnificent narration on this channel and great use of imagery. In my humble opinion it blows mainstream media productions out of the water. Thanks so much!
thanks for that great storytelling., when you mentioned wulfrik though, the first thing that came to my mind then was valten, to whom wulfrik succumbed to in battle.
I stumbled across this channel and can’t thank you enough. I hope your views and fillers continue to grow. I am in love with the lore that is War Hammer, and my favorites are the Dawi, so thank you for all the hard work you all are doing.
That was the most incredible cereal commercial i've ever seen/heard in my life. No i have no interest in buying it, but god damn. This guy could make diapers sound like a life or death choice.
The Lizardmen don't have as many named characters as most of the main factions, but the majority of them have stories that go "I survived the first end of the world, and am an immortal badass that has been stomping out greater demons like ants since the dawn of history."
Walach Harkon and Abhorash better be on this list. I hated the end times. Chaos vampires make zero sense. They are unchanging and immutable dead opposite of chaos. As for combat in 5th ed the last time Walach was on the tabletop he was one of a very short list with an insta kill ability.
@@dan7564 in the end times, some crack pot chucked 30 years of lore out the window and decided Isabella was a Nurgle worshipper and Walach Harkkon went to the blood god. It was pure cringe!
You guys are aware that settra with just his magic items and skill was like a second away from killing end times god mode Nagash, as a human he survives the great catastrophe and as an undead blessed and cursed in his tomb he can swing as hard as a giant
@@karlfranzemperorofmandefil5547 And than one shots Red Duke. Giles has a nasty tendancy to play nice and let others win for one reason or another. Best comparison is when dads let their sons win.
@@DG-ew9wb that's not skill, its just the amount of power the lady invested im him and that holy magic directly counters the undead to the point a grail knights corpse can stop chaos lords from entering a place. But that's pretty worthless if you're fighting someone like Krok Gar or any of the really old old bloods who are stronger and faster then them without relying on dark power that a grail knight or Gilles can dampen.
@@karlfranzemperorofmandefil5547 Assumption is everyone fights at their best. By that logic magic can be dampened, weapons dulled and armour broken... Welp, nurgle has the best fighters.
@@DG-ew9wb then Gilles gets his ass handed to him by half of the vampires of the setting. The only reason he stands a chance is how massively the ladies influence weakens chaos and vampires.
I like this list, and I'm happy you included Aenarion. I think that other of the greatest meele fighters should be Abhorash, the father of the Blood dragon vampires, Sigmar Heldenhammer himself, and perhaps Gille le Breton, founder of Brettonia and the Green Knight.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME in countless videos I've watched that a sponsor ad made me laugh! Hahaha with the same voice and emotion talking about cereals and greenskin hordes! Bloody amazing!
I think Celestials Dragons are under estimated. We could argue that they are more like fighting mages than melees character but if you leave game balance aside I feel like a thousands years old gigantic dragon who can ALSO be a master in melee mixing martial art and celestial powers while unleashing hell with spells all around you has to be quite scary from a basic empire captain point of view.
Not entirely sure how Wulfric managed to talk his way into this list considering not a single character here would even get close to losing to him in lore or tabletop but amazing list nonetheless!
Tyrion doesn't get enough credit because he isn't as swolle as Grimgore - but he wears a demigods armour, wields the same demigods sword whilst being the greatest warrior in a race that has warriors that can kill other with a whistle (swordmasters). He sexy.
Beware, for thou hast slighted the greatest of the Vampire Counts, Vlad Von Carstein! It was Vlad who challenged the Empire time and time again. In single combat, he has few peers!
He fought him to a standstill if I remember correctly. Also if I remember correctly Grimgor had to fight his way through a bunch of Chaos Warriors first. In that case Mortkin should also get an honorable mention for fighting Valkia to a standstill.
@@Rhinopotamus oh true, crom stopped fighting him after realizing the greenskin army started running and they were surrounrded by The chaos army, either way holding grimgor to a standstill for hours and hours is an amazing feat
I think you're missing a few herer: Malekith, being one of the scarier bastards out there and Hellebron. The madwoman who has fought for thousands of years, from the taming of the world through the sundering and everything thereafter and she has done it without wearing a scrap of armour and last I checked she isn't sporting any scars. And then there's the Deathsword, while not a very creatively named weapon, it sure as hell lives up to the name. There are precious few, even on this list, who'd last long against her.
@@LanaLana-zf7ws fr. Malekith is no slouch, certainly better than the vast majority of other lords, but his real power is that he’s an Uber powerful sorcerer. Good, but not in contention for greatest.
@@LanaLana-zf7ws Malekith is the most powerful lord in tabletop and among the most powerful characters in warhammer lore. He might not be the best fighter but because he's a powerful hybrid he can easily destroy most characters in a duel. Still this is a very easy competition, the most powerful fighter that has ever existed in warhammer lore is Aenarion the defender and no one else comes even close. Grimgor probably takes the spot among the mortal living and the Green Knight wins if immortal characters are allowed because you can't kill him or banish him, however he can't leave his own realm.
Lizardmen are so underpowered in the games. Saurus should be as tall as Orc Big uns. Stronger than them, more resistant than them. Fighting for years to no end. Unbreakable in the face of Demon hordes and horrors. But in game they get killed by skavenslaves. In lore they are stronger than the Elfs, in game, not even close.
Ill tell you this much damned lizard things are not easy to beat with skaven. The one time i was about to wipe them out i started a ritual and chaos came knocking so they got back some satlements... i hope once i can make abominations ill be done with them.
Wrong. They are strong but no where near what you're implying. Orcs are generally physically stronger than Saurus, Saurus are however organized efficient emotionless killers. Elves are top tier both in lore and in tabletop. They're not as durable as the Lizardmen but way more lethal overall and equally intelligent and proficient with magic.
I wouldn't say saurus get killed by skavenslaves, they're pretty fucking tough in total war still, although they fall short to elite units. Sucks they are still a bit underpowered compared to their lore counterparts but that's likely due to balancing and having powerful monsters. Just my thoughts on saurus warriors in total war warhammer.
@@DaBiggestGobbo Honestly I have no idea what he's talking about. They're one of the most cost effective infantry units in the game. It's just temple guard that are a bit odd, they probably need a buff to make them relevant because currently there's no reason to bring them instead of normal Saurus. Saurus have pretty good AP as well even though it doesn't say it's an AP unit. Lizardmen overall is in a very good place in total war, one of the strongest factions available.
I feel like you missed the greatest melee fighter in all of Warhammer. The very man that made Ghal Maraz a symbol of human strength and the man that would become so legendary, he would one day achieve godhood. Sigmar Heldenhammer
Anarion is super broken, and is basically the be all end all of fighters. Not far behind would be people like Abhorash who have "lived" for thousands and thousands of years, also in this tier I would throw in Archon, but thats more because he's just super overpowered as the main bad guy, Belakor has also been around for an incredibly long time and has all the powers of daemonhood. Then theres sort of the weird tier for people like Nagash and The Green Knight who are sort of more magic and other such power rather than straight up warriors. After that which i regard as the "cheese tier" you have much more grounded fighters like Kroq Kar, Grimgor, Vlad Von Carstein, Valkia, Tyrion, Malekith, Grombrindal, Nakai, Skarbrand and the almighty god emperor of manki.... i mean Sigmar
Im suprised durthu isnt in this nor is he mentioned in the comments, he beat coeddil in a fight, survived being cut by the sword of khaine, which wouldve no doubt killed everyone else on this list and was cleaving greater daemons in half with so little effort. Hes a beast in melee. As for personally who i think is great is greasus goldtooth. While his end is by grimgor in the end times, he wouldve won if at that point grimgor wasnt the incarnate of the wind of beasts and the prophet of the great maw (poor skrag). Then theres arbaal, literally undefeated champion of khorne. Bragg the gutsman, settra and his personal guard and title rememberancer i forget the name of, khalida is also a decent pick, sniktch, do the ubersreik 5 count? Abhorash, guiles de breton, vlad von carstein, theres many great warriors who can contend for a list like this
Gotrek is like the Drizzt of Warhammer, he's such a mary sue shitty character that makes no sense. A large monster god like Kholek would stamp him out of existence in seconds if there was any kind of realism and writers didn't give him ungodly plot armor.
Well, I think there are a few melee fighters of incredible strength, naturally that is going to happen. But I think both N'Kari, Skarbrand and Be'Lakor, if you want to count them. They kinda have an edge by being large deamons. Sigvald, Malus, Taurox and Nakai are probably also very strong. Also a character that has yet to be released into the total war games; Skreech the Verminking, head of the Skaven Shadow Council of Thirteen.
Or you could stop ignoring the most powerful and mention him. Kholek Suneater, literal god and most ancient being on the roster, and lore wise is as big as a skyscraper. But I know you weebs want to ignore that he exists.
I'm not an expert on the lore and all of those are great fighters but if I remember correctly N'kari is Tyrion and Teclis's punching bag, Skarbrand got beaten by Malekith one time, Be'lakor got beaten by a grail knight, Throgg killed Sigvald, Malus was taken over by T'zarkan who was killed by Tyrion, and Taurox was killed by Markus Wulfhart. Nakai is the only one who I don't know much but I think was undefeated and I never heard of Skreech.
@@seanallerdings8147 I dont know practically any lore either and most of the characters I named was just based on their strength compared to others of their kind, not each other. N'Kari however is to my knowledge clearly stronger than Tyrion. It has been Teclis that turns the tide, without him I think Tyrion would have lost spectacularly. Their god Asuryan I believe also aided them. I have also read a story in which N'Kari kills Skarbrand although that one might have been fanmade but it was incredibly well written so in my mind it is still cannon. As Skarbrand at least used to be the mightiest bloodthrister killing him can't be easy, props to Malekith aswell.
