Tumblr had it best: Very Sexy of Matt to give his players a library to explore all the lore he’s spent forever crafting. Even More Sexy of the players to get themselves banned.
It's like watching a train derail. A part of you wants to look away and yet a part of you is also fascinated by the out of control disaster that's unfolding before your eyes.
The funniest thing was that Laura was attempting to cast yet AGAIN a spell, only for her to finally realize that would make her end up with more arrows in her body... XD
I mean it's kind of in the name of the spell but Knock makes a loud _knock_ sound that can be heard from hundreds of feet away. Using Knock wouldn't have changed the situation.
@@C00kiesAplenty To prevent players from just going wherever they please completely uninvited and without consequence? What else do you want me to say? I'm shocked the loud noise wasn't in the description of the spell from the get-go considering its name is pretty on-the-nose relating to what you do with it.
This was the first episode I watched over at my friend's house. We just watched slack-jawed as the Nein managed to anger so many NPCs in such a short amount of time.
i like to think the fletching is different color patterns for each guard post and Jester now has a collection of 1st introduction arrows/ scars.. "....and this one i got from...."
The really stupid thing is, they decided they were just going to get the teleportation circles and then come right back before they even left. They could have avoided the whole mess if they'd just left the damn horses behind. I was actually shouting "leave the horses!" but then they just went right through with them. Major facepalm xD
But that's part of the fun of it all! I'd probably have made the same decision they did with the horses, for the ensuing hilarity that was sure to follow
I stopped watching after 73, but what I don't understand is why they want to memorize all the teleportation circles. Given the way they've been received now (and just from common sense), won't they be encroaching into one of the deepest parts of each of the Cobalt Reserves if they use one?
I know Campaign 2 is far from over but I am certain this will go down in history as one of the buck wild moments that most accurately captures the spirit of the Mighty Nein
I come from the future. Campaign 2 has now ended. This has gone down in history as one of the buck wild moments that most accurately captures the spirit of the Mighty Nein.
Like in HINDSIGHT technically they didn't HURT anyone (except Jester), since Zeenoth turned out to be corrupt. But still, they caused quite the commotion twice for, really no reason. They NEVER went to Port Damali.
I feel so bad for Travis lol. It's been clear this episode and the last have 'frustrated' him with how little they've accomplished. They talked in circles for almost 2 hours last session and this episode was another library lore-dump episode. I don't mean to say he thinks that the lore dumps aren't interesting, but you can tell him (and even Taliesin to an extent this ep) are itching to do something active (ex. try his new powers) but instead they just end up getting caught in this trainwreck.
Well, then he probably shouldn't have been the one to insist they get and keep and bring the horses... Or, you know, asked that they bother chasing the really obvious combat hook against the goblins Matt left them.
@@Scott-ql2kx He ignored the combat hook because he knew the group has more pressing concerns lol (ie. tracking yasha). That's what makes Travis such a great player, he never steals the spotlight or steers the campaign in a certain direction for personal reasons.
This is such a cinematic sequence, like I can picture an animated montage of them repeating the process a whole bunch of times with random cities (not necessarily canon ones)
This is still the funniest shit I've seen all year. I had BWF projectile tears watching it live on Thursday. Thank you for the upload. Fuck what a trainwreck the M9 are
They gived their names to the cobalt Soul/Brand especially Jester who also already signed the letter to Astrid with her name on it... Just throwing that out
I watched this thing live. It was late at night though so I had to be quiet so while I was dying of laughter I was also doing my best to stay quiet. I swear to god I thought I was about to fucking die.
I think it would’ve been great if they had actually made it to all of them. Just the fucking chaos that would’ve potentially caused. The M9 in Westrun would’ve been amazing.
I just love how Matt chose to actively play battle music for the entire duration of this sequence, it's so ridiculous but it somehow fits the situation. The only difference is that instead of fighting monsters, they're fighting sound logic lol
Well this does take place post box machina. After that they may have allowed at least one in case they need reinforcements. Personally I would have a secured circle outside the gates.
Ehm...wait... Aren't teleportacion circles forbidden in vesselheim? I mean... I know this is cobalt soul but it is in the assembly... Just saying... A little fishy
Also I think Matt said that while arcane based magic is banned from common use, the state still uses it in a certain degree. Like utility spells. I.e. identify or a teleportation circle.
I think he said it in the search for grog when elf guy of bahamut in vasselheim asked one of his workers to identify the deck of cards. The guy used a detect magic/identify spell
Yeah but he said in Campaign 1 that there was no circle in Vasselheim because the city got infiltrated once via a circle so they got rid of it. Or something like that. I don't remember exactly. I vaguely remember Tiberius getting into a bit of trouble casting Fly on himself or something.
Considering how much Matt hated RPing as Zeenoth, almost as much as he hated RPing as Beau's dad and Lord Darrington, Matt totally enjoyed watching all this chaos unfold. Matt enjoyed having that bastard suffer, hence why he put the Angel of Irons cult injuring him in the narrative. (FYI to all spoiler haters, nothing I wrote is a spoiler; I didn't include why Matt hated RPing as those characters, so there's no harm).
If I was Matt that door would have got jammed because of Nott's lock pick lol I would have still gave it to him I would have just let them talk it out a little bit more😂
I think tha the cobalt soul monk should use int to CA and shit in Pathfinder they have a monk that uses cha it would make more sense and is a good idea that 5e is not using maybe Matt could
Although it was a funny episode i think they are tracking info too much without getting anywhere. Even matt is giving hints. Needs more combat and stuff actively happening.
Technically not every archive. Uthodurn: only Caleb and Nott were. Rexxentrum: Temporary until further Port Damali: Most likely the same. Zadash: Most likely not banned, just... exasperated. Might I kindly suggest rewording it to "most" of the Archives? Plus, it'd look bad for the Cobalt Soul itself if something big had come up (like, say, an imminent incursion headed their way) and the Mighty Nein HAD to teleport to Zadash to report this, only to be put in jail for a "ban" due to doing the right thing. I can only wonder what Dairon themself would have to say about all this, as it would require a full account from both Zeenoth and Beau.
I feel like it was a fair ruling. They passed their persuasion checks and they didn't hurt any NPCs. Also I feel like it runs the risk of locking them out of being able to progress the campaign if they ended up with any harsher punishments.
