Fantastic! My daugher and I did a tour on the Thames 10 years ago and this brought back happy memories. It was great to see all of you enjoying your adventure.

Hi Gary. Just finished watching todays vlog. So happy for you, Nicky and the kids that you had a fantastic trip on the Thames. You certainly were blessed with the weather. My wife and I hire canal boats and have travelled a lot of the network but I've always been reluctant to try navigating the Thames. Its always seemed overwhelming and a bit scary to be honest but after watching your trip its inspired me to have a go! Thanks for all your hard work editing these videos for us to enjoy. Hi Gary and Nicky and Kids I worked on the River Thames on the tugs and travelled up and down and enjoyed the vista every day it is all good in the summer BUT in the Winter it can be Horrible ice on the decks, Ropes frozen ,Chill wind all day , BUT I LOVED IT . Cheers

Wow! That was exhilerating. So glad that the children seemed to enjoy seeing the capital, too. The pups all looked adorable in their tiny life jackets. I have to say that I seldom like pics of myself, but one of my favorite pics of myself ever, is from January 2018. I came to London from Texas to celebrate my birthday with a friend (by seeing Hamilton). My friend snapped a pic of me drinking coffee on the banks of the Thames, just peering out and imagining some of the history which had played out on that mighty river. I used to do much the same with the Hudson River, as I grew up in New York. I love history and I love a majestic river. And now I will return to preparations here in Houston for a reinvigorating hurricane Beryl to come ashore somewhere near us, probably tomorrow night. See you soon. Leigh

Gary An amazing trip. Well done, an excellent vlog. The Tate Modern was created from the old Bankside Power Station and is not the Oxo Tower. You also missed Thames House (MI5) which is opposite River House (MI6). Also the O&C Boat Race course was worth a mention as was the entry to the Grand Union Canal at Brentford which was opposite Kew Gardens. A lot to take in, I know. Jeff

Yep welcome to The upper Thames Gary , grumpy bugger unhelpful lock keepers are pretty standard and some of their volunteers too , which is why between my stomping ground Maidenhead to Henley I travel through locks out of hours where possible. The Grey Goose👍😁

Absolutely loving your Thames travels. So exciting. Not sure I'd do it, you're all very brave! Not many people get to see the views you've had! Wonderful! Just to note, I think where you've put OXO tower, that might be the Tate Modern, the OXO tower is just after the 'oriental' wotsits, not that it really matters. XXX

I lived not far from Battersea power station for years when working in London, how wonderful to see it from the water side 😊.. Super to see Saint Piran’s flag, as you know Cornwall has our heart, Nicky is an example of how special the Cornish people are 😊 We are so pleased for you and super to see the excitement on Lilly and Noah’s faces bless them. Thank you for this very fine record of the day. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sorry about the mooring issues at Teddington - I knew it would be a little chaotic, but there wasn't a lot we could do about that beforehand, and the arrival time is determined by the tides .... Simon Judge SPCC.

At 19:52... the old Battersea Power Station. I first saw that "picturesque pile" in an episode of Dr. Who (probably in 1963 or 1964!). First time I ever saw the Daleks as well (in black and white...)! I am currently building a 1/350 scale model of HMS Belfast. Looks like everyone survived the "choppiness". Never suffered from motion sickness myself but my late elder brother would have been queasy just watching the video!

In all the excitement you showed the Tate Modern as the oxo tower. The oxo tower was a little further up. Still doesn't spoil the excitement of the day of the day

We're still actually on the Thames until we reach the Oxford canal. Chugs was certainly on the limit, narrowboats simply aren't made for waters like that
