Lovely and calming, as always, Gary. I worked for Shell Oil for 8 years, straight out of law school. Met my 2 best friends there and 4 decades later, we are still besties . Hope tgat beef stew on a rainy day was as tasty as it sounds. Be well. Leigh
Weather Bureau in Australia is normally accurate in their forecasts yesterday it was to be winds easing and showers and in the middle of the day while I was out making tik tok videos the drizzling rain came forcing me to change my plans and dash to the shop for an early lunch at 11-30. They will also forecast probable rains or thunderstorms but we dont get them but they did say only probable .
In 2002 a brazilian weatherman was fired and charged with causing a panic on New Year's Eve when he predicted heavy rain to occur again after rain that caused mudslides. The rain didn't show up, neither did the people for the planned celebration! Hope the weather is spectacular for you and your lovely family.
Lol... people's lives are effected by incorrect weather forecasts, they change their plans etc. You would think with todays technology they could predict more accurately
Getting the weather right is as hard as picking the winning lottery numbers Gary. It would be nice to get it right for once...Ha ha. The opening intro showing geese (If I am right thinking they were Geese) Reminded me of the film. Fly Away Home. Great family film to watch. Keep on a chugging peeps. 🖖👍
Hi folks I'm glad to see you are all safe and well.. Another stunning video from you. As for the weather you are better of looking out of your window to see what its going to be. Anyway folks keep yourselves safe and well.🐐🐐🐐🐐.
Love the new ending to the vlog. Adds more journey detail showing where you have travelled. Hope you decide to keep that going! Cheers HELEN & okay PAUL
the music is my favorite found other pieces by him , so soothing , I did bedding to day all done love clean bed if I had lots money would have clean one everyday , lovely views again , also property I would not get much done if lived near canal . had lunch with ladies at Plum pudding this week very nice 2 courses 9.99 not bad price , we try to meet once a month , we all worked together . I not about for few days will catch you when I can , enjoy take care . ☹🙃😊
Gary Volunteer lock keepers are all very well but they seem to stick to one lock out of five. Why not spread the team out? We noticed the same thing at Atherton and Hilmorton. Very useful at Bratch, Grindley Brook, Watford and Foxton. Jeff
Hi Gary and family. Those cows are Belted Galloways, when I came past a few days ago. One of them was right in the canal. I found Rugby busy so didn't stop. Are you heading to Coventry? If so I'm in the city basin there. If you want supplies there is a very big Tesco on the way into Coventry.
Hi Colin, we couldn't moor in Rugby either. We're heading back to Wigtams Turn for the open day next Saturday then heading back to Hawkesbury Junction bud
Belted Galloways are named after a region in South West Scotland. Also I watched Noah’s last vlog so I know where you are going ( so I won’t tell anyone)
That slab sided narrowboat at 9:30 immediately reminded me of the American Civil War "ironclads" (just minus the iron plating and artillery)... OR... a floating garage and garden shed. Much too posh for a chicken coop. Odd stern.
seeing the sign commemorating 250 years of the Oxford Canal at Napton highlights the age of England compared to Australia where we have had 236 years of European settlement .
thank you again Gary. Lovely crossing paths with people you know. There was one pussycat that looked a bit indignant at having its mouse hunt interrupted!
Hi folks glad to see that you are all safe and well. What can I say about your video . apart from stunning . although I did not expect anything else from you... I noticed that one person who puts out videos had a bit of bother with another boater over them taking a long time to fill their water tank... What is wrong with people these days ???if you want to rush everywhere don't buy a narrow boat..??? Anyway folks as always keep yourselves safe and well.🐐🐐🐐..
Having watched many boaters, van lifers and living off the grid I'm always curious as to how you manage to sustain that over time if you don't hold a job or inherit a ton of money. We used to donate to a few on patreon but stopped after realizing we worked to attain a certain way of life and secure our future retirement and giving it away to people who don't want to work, for a host of reasons wasn't sensible, for us or them. You don't help people handing them $$. So how do you see yourself financially in your retirement? David (Cruising the Cut) thought boat living was not sustainable. Weir on the Move felt the same and have their barge up for sale. Some of the other boaters talk about how it's difficult chasing water, loo dump, shopping etc. I'm curious how this all plays out over a lifetime into retirement
I used to be a professional driver for Shell on the fuel tankers but was told I was going blind several years ago so I had no choice but to give up work. I continued to pay a mortgage for a while out of my savings but that proved difficult so I sold my house and had Chugs built so after living in a 25yr old 12' caravan for a year I moved onboard. I was forced to cash in my pension at 55yrs (I'm 59yrs now) so now I have a small pension and the little I earn on RU-vid to live on. Although I could claim off the government (I'm now partially sighted) I don't so this is how I servive but I still pay into three charities every month. It depends what you want from life? ME... I'm just happy the way I am, being happy and producing videos for people (for free) and being with a family I love dearly
@@GaryCaptainPhillips We've been watching since the boat was being built and understand some of your history. I know it's been a struggle at times. It's nice that you've found your happy place.
