“dad, why is my name rose?” “well, your mother loved flowers, specifically roses!” “dad, why’s my name this?” “this talk is over, the mind electric but with the good part from demo 4”
@@garfocusalternate well he might rap like an english chap and take you by the knickers and bum your slap you didnt think he had the gall well BLOODY WELCOME TO TALLY HALL
imo, the entirety of Demo 4 is absolutely amazing, and i high key think you should have a version that replaces that whole last section with it, even if its pitchshifted down to match it. Awesome stuff though, i f///king love this song. 💜
Fr. It’s relatable because of the last part. I’m Autistic so we have a thing called “Masking” Where we hide our symptoms to look like a normal person the “and you fall inside a hole you couldn’t see” could be like falling into the trap of it. The “Someone help me” Is like us wanting help but we’ve gone too far into it. And the “Doctor I can’t tell if I’m not me” Hits way too close to home because We act like completely different humans after masking.
Think of these thoughts as limitless light Exposing closing circuitry of fright Think of each moment holding this breath As death minute in decimal Resident minor, how do you plead? We'll need your testimony on the stand Solemnly swear to tell the whole truth So help you son, now raise your right hand Father your honor, may I explain? My brain has claimed its glory over me I've a good heart albeit insane Condemn him to the infirmary All mine towers crumble down the flowers gasping under rubble Shrieking in the hall of lull, thy genius saves a thirst for trouble Scattering sparks of thought energy Deliver me and carry me away Here in my kingdom I am your Lord I order you to cower and pray Nuns commence incanting as the lightning strikes mine temples thus Electrifying mine chambers, wholly scorching out thine sovereignty So-so-so-so-so-so-so-so spiraling down thy majesty I beg of thee, have mercy on me I was just a boy you see I plead of thee have sympathy for me See how the serfs work the ground (see how they work) And they give it all they've got And they give it all they've got And you give it all you've got 'til you're down See how the brain plays around And you fall inside a hole you couldn't see And you fall inside a hole inside a- Someone help me Understand what's going on inside my mind Doctor I can't tell if I'm not me See how I laugh at you You'll never understand No you'll never understand No you'll never ever ever understand See how I run from you I'll never ever ever understand No i'll never ever ever understand When it grows bright, the particles start to Marvel having made it through the night Never they ponder, weather electric Calming if you look at it right!
Thy genius saves a thirst should be thy genius sates a thirst for trouble During the serf part, the background voices say see how they fall instead of work The last segment is omitted in this version
this song makes me want to make my entire life out of it. like not the story or anything. i just want the lyrics everywhere. as a poster, as a tattoo, as a hair color, everything.
OKAY I just did my own interpretation of The Mind Electric and I would love to share. If you don't know, this song takes place after the events of Murders, where the girlfriend (referred to as Stella) of the protagonist (in whom he is referred to as Simon) is murdered by a stalker. However, Simon is cruelly accused of having murdered Stella. In The Mind Electric, Simon is on trial for the false crime he committed. At the beginning of the song, he is preparing for the trial to prove his innocence. However, the Judge (referred to as "Father") says that, for Simon to be proven innocent, he would have to have a testimony, and so, he makes the plan to pretend to be insane to get out of that situation, but he ends up in a worse situation: he is sentenced to The Infirmary because of his insanity, which I believe must be some mental hospital. ( 0:41 ) Upon hearing about his sentence, Simon begins to have a panic attack as this is not what he was planning. ( 0:47 ) In the part that sings "See how the brain plays around, and you fall inside a whole you couldn't see [...]" ( 2:03 ) describes Simon's failed plan, in which he pretended to be insane to try to escape from the court case. In the mental hospital, there is a figure of great authority who acts like a dictator or something, and this figure despise Simon for always wanting to get out of there and proving that he's not insane. ( 1:07 ) ( 2:35 ) Simon, still being seen as an insane person, begins undergoing electroshock therapy (which I will refer to as EST). This cruel process begins to make Simon truly insane and he describes how the EST is slowly "burning" his brain ( 1:23 ) Because of Simon's insanity, he begins to dissociate, going so far as to ask a doctor what is going on in his mind. ( 2:22 ) At the end of the song, the part that says "See how I laugh at you [...]" ( 2:33 ) The person who sings this part is Stella's killer, who I mentioned at the beginning of this entire paragraph of interpretation, mocking Simon's current situation. And the scream at the end is Simon in agony from EST. I know it might sound confusing, but that's how I interpret this song :P
My interpretation is slightly different. From forshadowing we get from White Ball and some of the songs before it, it seems that Stella and Simon are worshipping some higher power (Apollo, Black Rainbows, Stella Octangula, the moon, the stairs to the moon etc) and starts to get apathetic and insane during White Ball and Murders. My theory is that Simon IS insane in some way because of his beleif in this higher power.
i like pretty much the whole song and everytime when the music bumps up like the "all mine towers crumble down" "here in my kingdown" and especially "spiraling down thy majesty" i don't really know why most people like the end part most
He just wants to vent and get into controversy about it 3 years later which will remain unaddressed because maybe it didn’t even happen in the first place?
-see how the surfs work the ground and they give it all theyve got (?) and they give it all theyve got (??) and you give it all youve got (???) (till youre??????????) (ha-ha-ha-ha!) see how the brain plays aroooound, and you fall inside a hole you couldnt see. and you fall inside a hole, inside a-someone, help me- understand whats going on insiide my miind doctor, i cant tell if im not me. (oh, not you, huh?) (see how i laugh at you, you’ll never understand- -no, you’ll never understand, no you’ll never, ever, ever understand. i forgot i need it to be continued :(
Don't you just hate it when they make a whole song about your murder trial, getting executed by an electric chair, and then they make a remix of the demo of that song?
How deep have you gone down the rabbit hole so far? Are you aware of The Whale? Labyrinth Game? Simon and Marvin? The hidden link in Variations on a Cloud? (I am being cryptic on purpose. If you don't know what I am talking about, then you must Search. There are more secrets than these layered down the brainrot hole. Go discover them.)
Okay so when I first listened to Hawaii part II I had originally thought the mind electric was entirely in reverse Almost a YEAR later I heard the cover by chonny jash (specifically the end bit of the second section) in a f*cking bill cipher edit I immediately searched it and realized that it was the mind electric When I clicked the song I heard the reverse and realized I had missed out Then I couldn't find the lyrics I was looking for and found the cover NOW I HAVE FOUND A DEMO VERSION OF THE SONG WITH A UNIQUE ENDING THAT WAS ADDED TO THE ORIGINAL SONG TO MAKE THIS VIDEO!!!! I might have liked this song just a bit
me: discovering miracle musical's hawaii playlist, thinking its hawaiian music in reality: the music being nothing close to tropical musical but rather something much more complicated me: vibing anyway
3:08 this scream is no joke playing everytime i leave somebody without saying something or just did something selfish becouse i didnt want to get in trouble, my brain has played it way to much😐🥲
This song is so damn good, but it’s also terrifying to find out what the songs about. 2:31 ALSO, ALL THE TIMES IVE HEARD THIS SONG IVE NEVER HEARD THIS.
Yeah the part at 2:31 is from one of the demos of the song but it was cut from the final thing That’s why the video is the mind electric “with the good part from demo 4”
Both versions are distorted, with this version having reversed voices in the background, and the other having glitches and random cuts. I’d love to see someone try mixing the two to create the cleanest version, but that would probably take some time.
I like to imagine that all of this trial is a part of Simon's hallucinations during treatment that's why at the end he said it's calming if you look at it right because it's the end of the song and maybe the hallucinations
this showed up randomly in my playlist instead of the normal version and I didn't really notice a difference until the end, and oh my god that screaming at the end genuinely sent a little bit of a chill down my spine. Its such a perfect end to the song though. Its a straightforward expression of pain and rage after a somewhat abstract song. It goes from "this song definitely isn't telling a happy story" to "Oh this song must be telling an absolutely grim story".
