They probably did that because Notch completely rinsed his hands of the franchise a decade ago following the sale of his company Mojang to Microsoft including this game. Also, I heard he's gone insane because of how lonely his billion dollar fortune made him and said bad things about other people online for who they are. So Microsoft definitely doesn't want nothing to do with him now, despite him being the creator of the game.

I really don't think he's an inherently bad person but I wouldn't say that he's a normal dude for being straight up discriminatory. I do feel bad for him though since he clearly went through a lot and that's why he acts like this.
This plot sounds like a load of rubbish. Even i could come up with a better storyline: a lonely 26 year old miner called Steve lived his life in a block dimensional world with a wolf for a pet, until he discovered a father of two kids, who suddenly entered the realm, and are in need of getting back to theirs, Steve attempts to take the family's journey safe and abroad, even assisting help from his childhood friend, Alex and the unlikely Villagers in order to battle against the mob of monsters and survive the nights. It feels less Jumanji like tbh.
I came up with one that is just minecraft and not an isekai: so basically the endermen are causing chaos in the world, stealing blocks and resources, but theres a legend about a portal that leads to the world where endermen live, legend says something in there is controlling the endermen (the ender dragon) and now steve and alex need to defeat it, also about the other default skins they could be in a B-plot about the pillagers, where the villagers and pillagers are having social problems and the pillagers are threatening to Raid villages, so they invade their outposts and mansions to put a stop to it, but at the third act the raid starts and they fight it
Basically, but Microsoft won't ever mention his name again because of how bigoted he became as a result of his loneliness after the sale of the game. I also do wonder if Notch is gonna be pissed once he finds out, although he of all people said he is alright with the movie, most likely because it's HIS GAME being turned into a movie.
This is disappointing. Jumanji (2017) worked because mediocre movie fun has always been Dwayne Johnson's brand. Minecraft is a goofy game but with its storytelling lore, I was expecting something at least as good and creative as The Lego Movie (2015).
The story sounds kinda whatever, but the execution is probably gonna be horrendous. There’s going to be no understanding of the source content, no understanding of the audience, and no love put into the movie. It’s just going to be a cash grab by executives who think they can just make any movie about a video game and make money from the kids that want to watch it. I hope they are horribly surprised. There’s better stuff on RU-vid that you can’t watch for free that is well animated and has more soul in it than anything Warner bros can put out.
Bruh, the whole gameplay of steve get his first wooden block and defeat ender dragon is a better plot than copy-paste the whole story line of Jumanji 2 with Steve have the EXACT role just like the pilot. And that Tesseract thing is being used just like that old Jumanji console

The Jumanji plot could have worked, just look at the Mario movie, just replace the characters with live action actors and there you go, it's a Jumanji plot. But Mario's movie knew that wasn't going to work (they've failed before). The Mario movie has a Jumanji plot but is filled with a thank you letter to the player throughout the movie. Minecraft is replicating the path that the Mario movie took, starting with a disastrous live action XD
I think the mario movie worked like this because 1. They actually used the characters from the games 2. They didnt try to mix realism with the style of the game, even tho the textures are more realistic than the games i would say they did not try to go for realism 3. They actually went with the main story of the game with bowser putting chaos in the kingdoms
If I were to direct or write a Minecraft movie, I would simply have the story revolve around 2 characters, one who's purpose is to save the other from a very bad disease and the whole world trying to prevent him from saving him, be it all the hostile creatures attacking him or other forces preventing him from completing his quest. Then we slowly see how the disease is corrupting the face of one of the characters making his face pale and his eyes empty, by the end of everything it turns out that person who was infested, was Herobrine or some shit idk. I just think it would be more interesting as plot. Of course I did not add many elements since this is merely a RU-vid comment, but with time and a good team of writers, a very intriguing story of *mine* could be *crafted*
How does Warner Bros. fuck up this badly, I mean they were given the opportunity to make a movie about THE most popular game in the entire world and they decided to make it into a low effort dumpster fire. I mean I'm glad that they are failing because of what they did to Infinity Train, but why would they do this to themselves, are they allergic to money or something?

Dude if they are gonna do a origin story for minecraft wouldnt it be more reasonable to show the lore of the actual game to answer some questions? Also if this is the reason minecraft was created in the movie universe then why does the ender dragon exist and malgosha is not the main villain of the minecraft game? Did they even try?

It could've been so much more... A game about... well mining and crafting. But also surviving, exploring, being creative and most importantly: learning that you're a part of the universe experiencing itself This is the message of minecraft And the movie clearly doesn't follow

At least then you can bring your friends and family, some drinks (which you'll really need for this one), and have a good time dunking on it without giving the company money, unless it somehow turns out to be too shit like that Borderlands movie or worse than that.
