AFC14 so much better than Brian Taylor, Bruce McAvaney or Dwayne Russell. Huddo is the best commentator at the moment, before it was obviously Dennis Cometti.
I was at this game. The crowd was so loud, you couldn’t even hear the siren! Best game as a Lions fan I have seen and probably will ever see. Good on ya Boonji!
I was there at the game. Best game I have seen in my life. Most of the crowd left during the third quarter. At least 2500 people left, people then started coming back in during the 4th. Loudest roar when Ash scored the goal.
I was there for this it was the first game I went to and I remember being piggybacked on my way back home as my dad and friends cheered for me calling me a good luck charm
2:43 = Wow - 30 secs left on the clock and leading by just 1 point....who plays on in that situation - horrific decision making which ultimately loses the game - after blowing a 52 pt lead its hard to say he alone cost them the game but realistically if he showed a sliver of composure and ran down 10-15 secs before bombing it into a congested 50 that's game over
What is AFL? I want to know more about this sport. That looks like fun and i don't know a lot about this sport. In France(where i live since my birth) it's very rare to see a person who knows that AFL exists. My questions are: What are the rules? Which skills do you need? Thank you if i have an answer
Dark Wizard Basically 18 players on the ground for each team and 4 on the bench Ball gets bounced in the middle by the umpire and the two ruckmen (usually the tallest player on the team) jump up and try and tap the ball to a teammate. The aim from then is to run the ball down the field by either kicking, handballing (holding the ball in one hand and punching it with the other) or running, if you choose to run you have to bounce the ball every 15 metres. Once you get it to your end you have to kick it through the two big sticks, awarding your team 6 points, if you hit the big post or get the ball between the big and small posts, it is a behind worth 1 point. If you kick it out of bounds on the full it is a free kick to the other team. If the ball rolls out of play and the umpire deems that the player did not deliberately try to get it out of play, then the boundary umpire will throw it over their head and back into play so that the ruckmen can compete for the ball again. As far as skills go, you need lots of endurance to run for the whole game (about 2 and a half hours with play stoppages) ruckmen, forwards and defenders are often very tall as they need to be able to reach for the ball but it is best to have a mixture of height so if the tall people can’t catch it( a mark, where you can either play on or take an uninterrupted kick) then the smaller people will “crumb” the ball, as to pick it up and run with it. You also need strength because there is quite rough tackles and if you try to shrug it and fail, then a free kick will be paid against you. If you want some more info, check out What is afl, aussie rules explained, posted by this channel. It was posted for the American public but it doesn’t change much as it also says measurements in metric :D enjoy
