The Missouri Waltz is a traditional American song. It was first published as late as 1915, so it is in the Public Domain. It was adopted as the Missouri state song in 1949. The melody comes from the ethers of Missouri or Iowa. Some people have claimed that before lyrics were added, it was called "The Graveyard Waltz."
banjo tuning (432Hz): fCFAC - I did not play the 5th string.

Thank you! I recently got this banjo. It's a Recording King Dirty Thirties open-back with a brass tone-ring. For the price, it would be tough to beat, in my opinion. Playing an expensive banjo just seems weird to me.

The song grew on me the more you played. It happened so gradually I didn’t know I was enjoying it until the very end

I take it as a compliment. Also, this makes me laugh so hard. Thanks for hanging in there!

@@catfishfranklin Please take it as a complement, I mean it as one. I loved the hilarious lore you shared too. I am trying to spread it to those who listen. I wish you a good holiday and If you aren’t having a good one I hope it gets better. If you don’t celebrate anything, please refer to my first sentence :) You inspired me to learn this song , I’m already subbed :)

Why, thank you, @extremenature9190! I'm glad you dig it. You are helping to breathe new life into a good old song, and I applaud you for it. Happy to be a middleman. For more info on that particular song's trajectory, check out my other video: "Catfish Stinks!" says Algorithm. It's some interesting stuff. Much love, my friend.
