King saying he wished he'd thought of that ending is probably the biggest praise you can get from an author whose story you're adapting.

This movie and Romeo and Juliet have taught me that you should always cry for a couple of hours before making any really big decisions.

The grandma throwing a can of peas at the lady made me laugh way more then I thought it should

Even Steven King himself admitted the ending was a clever twist.

Ollie was SUCH a badass in the movie. Without him the crew wouldn’t have survived. He killed the religious nut, helped with all the pharmacy stuff, and shot a PTERODACTYL. Wow, he was my favorite part of this entire movie.

It's so cute hearing James say "the highest kill count so far" at 36.

The end was fucking horrifying. He mercy killed everyone just before they were about to be rescued.

Pet Cemetary: has a sad ending The Mist: hold my beer

I know that everyone has respect for olie but we can’t just forget how Melissa went back into the mist to go safe her kids and actually manage to do it without dying. She easily has my respect because I wouldn’t even of had the balls to attempt it.

Just finished the movie and probably the saddest detail about the ending was that we see the mother who left at the beginning survived with her children, which means that David might've been able to save his son (and maybe even his wife) had they left sooner. It was a very memorable ending, nonetheless.

That ending was soo HEAVY , holy shit.

Hearing an elderly woman call another woman a “miserable buzzard” was my favorite piece of dialog from this entire movie.

I never realized this before, but the bullets add up perfectly. It’s a six-shooter so, assuming it was fully loaded when they made moves to leave, the two shots that took down Carmody would leave only four remaining. To think, if Ollie had just gone for the headshot first, David wouldn’t have had to live with himself after the Mist finally cleared. Christ, this movie really does just keep getting more and more depressing.

This is literally the only movie that shows the military effectively able to deal with the supernatural issue that is happening.

Crazy to think that the highest killcount was in the 30's at one point and not in the 400's

The ending was probably one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen

I don't know why, but that lady asking in a desperate voice for someone to help her get back home to her kids and everyone looking away gets to me more than it should. It's such a small role but it's done so perfectly that I can't help but get sad and feel her desperation from that one line. Does anyone feel this or am I just weird?

Although Steven King says he wished he’d thought of this ending, i’m kind of glad he didn’t. I think if he had written it in the original source material, we would’ve expected it in the movie and it wouldn’t have had the same impact. The thing that really made this ending so heartbreaking was how everyone expected the original ending, then got something else.

The frickin grandma is a BADASS she should have survive, she alone could have killed all creatures with her diy flametrowher.

Ollie and the old lady are truly well built characters and well made humans.

The mist and silent hill made me realize that sad endings and more animal shaped monsters in horror can be really good and effective.

That ending is actually heartbreaking. If he had hesitated a little longer. His son, all of them could have lived...

That ending got me in tears. REAL TEARS. I rarely ever cry when watching a movie, and when I do, it wouldn't have any emotion to it like I had in the Mist. 10/10 must watch film

"The Mist"(2007) is an excellent horror sci-fi movie! The ending scene of the movie was Shocking and very unpredictable!

"Does anyone know how to shoot a gun?" The three military men in the corner: Are we a joke to you?

I love how they portrayed the monsters as more like animals. You can see the bugs only stung when they felt threatened, which is why Mrs. Carmody didn't get stung, she was being quiet and still. You can also see that the 4 winged creatures only preyed on the bugs at first. The giant spiders also are shown to use prey as nests for their babies, like parasitic wasps. The creatures also don't chase and kill people needlessly. Every time we see someone get killed by a monster, they were being hunted or used to feed offspring. These details clearly show that the creatures from the mist are animals from another world. The mist/fog surrounding the creatures is just how their atmosphere is. I'm guessing they come from a world that is very humid and the air is thick, so much so that clouds form at ground level. I'd really like to see a sequel to The Mist where a bunch of soldiers and scientists are sent to where the monsters came from to study the mist and its flora and fauna.

My family actually owns a house in Harrison Maine which is the town that borders Bridgeton ( where the movie is set). The store where it is set in the books is a real store that we frequently shop at and do things around. The lake we live on (long lake) is where stepehn king was where he wrote this and other classics like shawshank and the shining

K but this movie doesn’t make me scared of the mist, it makes me scared of the idea that during an existential crisis, I could be cooped up with a bunch of idiots

The mist has literally the most heartbreaking ending I have ever seen in a movie ever. It’s genuinely the one ending that will stick with me forever. I can’t imagine what he was thinking when he saw the tank and the rescued people, knowing that he just mercy killed his son and the others for no reason. If they had just wanted literally 30 seconds.

When I went to see The Mist, the audience actually cheered out loud when Marcia Gay Harden’s character died. Haven’t seen a movie before or since that that occurred.

I'm rewatching some of the old kill counts and although I love them just as much as new the new ones, I love seeing how far you've come. You have grown so much over the years as a host you used to talk so much faster and you give so much more detail about the behind the scenes and the making the movie in the KCs now and I absolutely love that. The editing and production value have come so far as well. Like I said I love the past videos and the new ones, I just think it's great to be able to go back and see all the growth from then to now. That shot of that giant creature walking in the mist is one of my favorite shots in any film ever. It's beautiful and terrifying and its design is awesome.

Been watching most of your videos for the last couple of years now, and I can't help but to comment on your face at 14:26 being genuine, the absolute shocker this ending is. I honestly had this movie in my head for a week at least just because of that amazing, yet incredibly depressing, ending.

i started crying when they took out the soldier, since that scene i couldn't stop. The look on his eyes... All the fear, the sadness, begging for his life with a group of psycho watching him while he is on his own. What a powerful scene. And then the ending, damn, i felt like a child, it made me so weak.
