Oh it's a co-developed platform, Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi shared the cost to develop the platform but each manufacturer tunes, designs, tests their cars differently and on each of the manufacturers standards and this has Mitsubishi's SuperAllWheelControl with Active YAW control which means torque vectoring just wished the U.S version got the Australian Exceed Tourer Version with Massaging Front Seats, Space Saver Spare Wheel, and a Blacked Out Roof with a Bronze Roof for the Black Model, also Mitsubishi needs to add the new Rogue Engine the 1.5 Turbo
Yes, very similar to how Toyota & BMW shared the Cost on the Supra & Z but then each tuned it differently. Allows you to get a really great car for less money. I also agree Mitsubishi has a great pedigree in AWD systems. I was not aware of the Australian version but makes sense due to their stronger brand down there.
This is the type of car that I can say has the best packaging, it's not big and it's not small at the same time and it has a decent ground clearance, the new upcoming PHEV will be the most perfect car ever, it's an EV with a range extender gas engine, it's good on fuel, it has more power, quieter and its quicker.
You are 110% correct. I can't wait to see how they incorporate the PHEV into This Platform. This Outlander with a little more electric pep & electric only range of 30-50 miles would be great at Everything & pretty much the perfect SUV.
@@andrewhamilton2078 The new 2023 Outlander PHEV has a 20KWH battery up form 13.8KWH on the old one, the new Outlander PHEV has around 49 Miles of pure electric range according to testing in Japan and it has 248HP and and 330 ft lbs of torque.
@@kennedy9072 Perfect. An Outlander versión of a Rav4 Prime. Just bigger with a 3rd row, better AWD, & much better looking. I'll be trading mine in on that as long as a similar versión comes to the states.
@@CarSharingJho Yes. However it's Nissan's newest version which seems to drive better. Also I would Never recommend a used Nissan with a CVT, But this New Mitsu has a 5 yr 60K Bumper to Bumper And 10 yr 100K powertrain so virtually no risk if keeping 4 yrs or less. If you keep the suv longterm you have CVT coverage to 100K. Not so with the Nissan.

@@CarSharingJho Mitsubishi has never had transmission issues like Nissans even though they've been using JATCO CVT's for years, the old Outlander and Outlander Sport were both using JATCO CVT's and they don't have issues, even the Mirage/Mirage G4 and the old Lancer was using a JATCO CVT and no issues at all, plus you'll get an amazing warranty on Mitsubishi's.
