The Miyoo Mini Plus is a masterpiece. And now it has Wifi! Here is my unboxing and first impressions of the Miyoo Mini Plus. Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): uppbeat.io/t/a... License code: ODPDR5VO3MDQFOB4
Bro, you are like one of the very few people I have seen care this much about retro achievements. I think for most people they are a nice bonus to have if possible, but not critical. Glad you enjoyed the mini otherwise and that you got a solid system free of defects and issues that typically plague these such as bad screen adhesive and speakers.
If anyone just got there’s recently and been trying to play Pokémon crystal or games that need a clock the newest onion beta has Wi-Fi clock syncing update it and go into settings and configure the time and allow Wifi time sync
been wanting to get back into retro gaming and once I found out about retroachievements it was over. im hooked. my gripe with retroachievements tho is that it sometimes feels like its tailored towards the hardcore players, I get it I dont mind hard achievements but some are just plain stupid.
I know what you mean, almost every game has a couple stupidly hard achievements. I've just accepted that I'll go for mostly completed on all games lol RPGs are not too bad though
I just started getting into these retro consoles and I'm obsessed too. I have a black miyoo mini plus, and 2 pow kiddy x55, 2 gray, 1 yellow, 1 blue and 1 black data frog sf-2000. The sf-2000 screen is a little smaller (3inches) but for 10,000 pre loaded games at under $20.......you can't beat it, and the search option is unbelievable😁
As a miyoo mini plus owner myself, I really do love this little handheld. It is comfortable enough even with larger hands. It emulates one of my favorite systems pretty flawlessly which is GBA. Also PS1 all run without a hitch for what I have used them for. For a larger screen and bit more power I opt for the x55 from Powkiddy which honestly surprised to well it played the games I wanted up to NDS and N64/Dreamcast without much issue and not to mention it has a fantastic resolution and lovely color palette for a vivid screen. Any other games outside this range I just boot into my sd on my steamdeck. I do still regret not being able to grab the purple because of unavailability at the time. Huh, sad bear lol Edit: I have to agree btw when it comes to the actual construction of this device, I have accidentally dropped it three times so for and one of those times it landed on the screen on a hard surface each time. I have no noticeable dings, scratches, or damage of any kind that is noticeable. The buttons on back though not the most ideal triggers feel solid without too tight of tolerances. The D-pad is flexible when playing fighting games such as street fighter and doesn't feel too stiff or flimsy, and finally though a smaller resolution screen it has a vivid and bright Ips panel.
I also have two powkiddy X55. I was wondering if I could ask you a question? I bought one from AliExpress and one from GoGameGeek. One came with a 256gb SD card pre-loaded with games and the other one didn't come with a card. So my question to you is can I just put the SD card from the one x55 into the other one that doesn't have an SD card? I'm not very computer literate so I don't know how to do anything with SD cards, files, card readers and ROMs and I don't have a PC anymore......all I have is my tablet...lol.
I ordered one from keepretro too! same color haha. I am about to make a lot of physical mods, upgrade speaker, back trigger buttons, and many stickers LOL
I've been thinking about getting the Miyoo Mini Plus, because of the retro achievements feature as well. I'm curious though, when you earn a achievement, do you see a pop up image of the achievement or is it just text?
I’ve just ordered one from Aliexpress for £30 😮 excited. Gonna pull the roms off the sd card then update to onion & put the roms back on (minus the systems I’m not interested in)… sound like a good plan? Is the supplied sd card really that bad? I can get a better one if need be, but would prefer not to 🤷🏻♂️
My only concern with using the ROMs that are provided on the SD card it comes with is that you can't guarantee the quality of those ROMs. Probably they will run fine but you run the risk of a corrupt save data down the road which would be a pain if your playing a long RPG. It might be best to copy over your own ROMs from a trusted source. Also, it depends on which SD card they send you. Often times you'll get a Kioxia card which is totally fine, but if you get a generic one I would use your own!
@@8bitbongo fair enough!! I’ve actually decided to just get a SanDisk card and use a rom set I’ve got on another device so I know I won’t have any problems 😄
Was torn between the Black and Purple Translucent colours but the Purple looked so cool in this video. The Purple is giving more of a Retro Tron vibes. 💜👾😁👍🏼
If you didn’t do the upgrade stock os before putting Onion on the WiFi won’t work right. This is because the original OSbthe WiFi barely worked before the last update.
Nope. Too small. Screen too tiny, hand cramp city. Ill stick with my x55. If I get another device, the screen will be even bigger than the 5.5" on the x55 and hopefully OLED too. My hands and eyes cannot do these mini consoles.
