This will always be my favourite R.S. simply because the Volvo 5 cylinder engine. I love high powered front wheel drive cars it's fun trying to manage the torque steer
you are exactly right so many people tell me they wish this was rear or all wheel drive and i tell them NO! its so much fun because its a way over powered front wheel drive bullet🤣 love that torque steer on this
Hi from scotland Ross, had one in 2013 n sold it for house extension, just bought another its mountune 350, paid same price for it when it was new 10 years ago, 19k mls on clock, had art amg but the rs way more fun n looks way more aggressive get looks everywhere I go n the grunt from that 2.5 five pot .......😁😁😁
oh m8 100% agree it's such a special car! i was blown away after driving it lol never in my wildest dreams did i think it would be as good as it is! Ford did an amazing job on this car..
Monty thanks m8 yes me and the owner had no idea but I think your right about the mountune 350 some one else mentioned that 😅 was very lucky to have a big empty road that day🙌!
That car’s not entirely standard. I spotted a Mountune air box in the engine bay so could have the MP350 package. It revs more willingly than standard too. Great video though, I dig the reviewers enthusiasm.
Im not 100% sure the owner has not modified it and was told by previous owner also.. but who knows lol.. was a very fun car! and thank you for watching and letting us know its possibly tuned! hope you enjoyed the review :)
I sold mine 4years ago for then £17k to put a deposit down on a house. I’ve regretted it every day since. Especially as you can’t get one for less than £25k now
Ross Reviews Yeah boi! Hope it’s a sick as I think it is and I didn’t send you on a wild goose chase for nothing. Looking forward to the vid! Thanks man!
@@RossReviewsaummmm interesting but I get it! I'm chasing one or the other atm hence the ? . I love both and have a thing for the evox but the focus rs in the green just looks so damn nice and so many things about that car are so special. I know the evox is faster , can be tuned to a further degree, reliability etc but man that rs just stays in my mind. the sound and looks are crazy. the fwd factor is a let down in comparison the x but as you said and also other reviews its what makes it. anyhow, thanks so much as always for the response mate. take care .
I think I may have driven this exact car, I worked at Wangara Kia & Suzuki a few years back and the only one of these I ever drove was a green one just like this with the exact same rims.. 😮 if it was bought from there back around.. 2014 (?) or so then the timeline matches up.
If it was me i wouldn't sell the RS.. Honestly still the most fun car i've ever driven! Mustangs are fun but nothing like an RS and they have become so popular over here in Aus the RS is much more special.. as for the R8 it is a masterpiece of a car! was one of my dream cars n when i drove it it was amazing very different feel to the RS lol as you can imagine.. but you'd have to factor in the cost and up keep on an R8 would be massive compared to the RS.. tough choice between the two you just have to ask your self what kind of a car you want more.. a peppy little rocket that pops n bangs or more of a low slung super car that will get a lot of attention but will also be quiet expensive to up keep.. make sure you take into account that you would have to get an aftermarket exhaust on the R8 because they are so quiet standard..n that will be thousands to install as you have to take the car apart..but as for older "super"cars go, the audi R8 has got to be one of the best daily ones and is fairly reliable! let me know what you end up deciding on!
These absolutely murder the AWD mk3 Focus RS's on tracks (that don't have a lot of hairpins). I mean, the quickest mk3 time round the 'Ring is 8:06 driven by an official test driver, and RU-vid is full of amateurs in mk2's that go round 10 to 20 seconds quicker dressed in a t-shirt.
Nakke144 I haven’t been able to drive a mk3 yet but I reckon you can’t get any faster than this RS once it’s moving! Only the corners the mk3 would most likely be much faster😅 thanks for watching man! Hope you enjoyed it!
@@RossReviewsau Yeah, great video mate! The mk3 is only quicker when its wet. The weight kills the dry performance of that car, it gets eaten alive at the track by FWD mk2's, Civic Type-R's and Megane RS's. Worst thing about it is how it looks like an MPV parked next to a mk2 tho 😄
Sorry Nakke144. But I own both the Mk2 and Mk3. The Mk3 is substantially quicker through all kinds of corners. But the Mk2 is a beast in a straight line, so much character.
Beast60 the looks are the best 👌😎 but to be honest man I’d take the FWD over AWD for this car! It is so much fun to drive because it’s so happy to light the front wheels up 🤣 would lose some excitement I think if it was AWD..
@@RossReviewsau HAHA you want to light the tyres get a fg turbo ;) i almost bought one till i saw its FWD. FWD cars are for parking lots and shopping centres lollll
Yes but ..... I have a neighbour who was attempting to build a lady trap after losing his first wife. So what car did he buy? .... a MK2 Focus RS ( His plan worked eventually ). German made, so the engineering is streets ahead of the non-RS models, but oh so squeezy inside. It's just not big enough, and it ain't got RWD. BTW, The in car audio was not the best : way too much road noise, but you probably know that. Anyhooo .... it was great to see you enjoying yourself. Me .... I'd prefer a land-yacht ( to quote Hoovie ). But then, I am growing old : )
It definitely has its faults but on the day driving on those backroads i honestly had the most fun in that little hatchback then any of the cars ive reviewed lol yes i used my audio from my gopro as my mic audio was destroyed because of my excitement and screaming lol
@@RossReviewsau I'm still. Keen for you to do a review of my, 2001 au sr fslcon. (once I've finish restoring it to its former glory. Will let you know in a few months when it's back on the road. @@jman4652 yes very keen can you send me a email.. or FB message. be easier to actually organize a day sometime in the future :) rossreviewsau@gmail.com
TrUcKeR OSKAR I actually like it because it’s not 4 wheel drive! It makes it so much more lively and fun yo drive! Obviously not the best on track being front wheel drive but for having fun it is more exciting than a mk3
U can actually make this 4wd it's possible because it shares volvo parts and the engine there's a certain volvo u can buy its a volvo v50 2.0 that's the car u need if u want 4wd
