Soooo jealous of you and how smooth your IE experience has been. I ordered the powerlink and after waiting for a week I finally got it. Ran out to the garage and got the charger on and followed every steps for the flash then I hit a snag The powerlink would not communicate with the ECU. After trying for 5 hrs I gave up and went over the log and there I saw a line with "CAN connection failed" 3 days exchanging email to finally get a replacement powerlink unit. So I told them to please send it 2 days shipping that I was paying for the shipping and instead it was sent regular. FedEx (worse shipper ever imo) has being playing ping pong with the package for 4 days in FL and 16 days after placing the order I still don't have anything to show for. Sorry for the rant my dude and I'm glad that it's working good for you.
Have an '18 S3 and getting ready to do this as I've contemplated getting rid of the car due the really bad throttle response. This video has restored hope for me. Personally I'm glad there's no crackles or I would be fine if I could just turn them off if I wanted. To me, they sound like an annoying gimmick for some kid that is trying look cool. The coolest people in the world never have to announce it. They just are. Just my opinion of course. Thanks for restoring hope. Nice car.
Get a pedal commander or one of the alternatives. Just got it in my '17 A4 Stage 2 and it's night and day with throttle response. Can make it exactly how you like it and changes every aspect of driving it. Had one in my old G37 coupe too, but without it the car is honestly sketchy with the throttle delay if you're in Drive mode and not tuned.
When I shift past 6500 rpm’s it doesn’t fart at all it just spins then shifts. When I shift under 6k like around 5500-5800 it farts perfectly and very loud. Could just be my GTI lol but thank you man, I appreciate that! More power and sound coming soon! 🤙🫡
For future videos, if you can recap what bolt-ons are on the car... As you progress on the tunes etc, just a quick // here is where the car is at etc bla bla ... Would like to know what video setup you use, great video and sound quality!
Oh for sure haha that’s my bad I should recap exactly what I did and where the car is at. It is noted thank you! Appreciate that and I use a GoPro hero 10 black creators edition with all the vlogging mods. I also use a camera tripod to put my GoPro on for making videos of installations and sometimes introductions! This camera is truly amazing and I 100% recommend this for a vlogging setup 🤙🤙
Thank you! I have not yet but I need to asap! It’s on order so I’ll be doing that within the next few weeks. And yes this is the Stage 1 IE tune. I love it so much! A lot of power and it’s a simple program
Yes! Definitely do it all in one shot if you can because it’s much easier than having to go back and do it again. If you want to see a major difference do it together because going from stock to stage 1 with a TCU tune will be insane especially on a high torque file.
It is good to run a low torque file when you do not have the TCU tune because it puts a lot of pressure on your transmission. You can do it on a high torque if you wish it’s just best to not pound on the gas petal until you do a TCU tune and switch to a high torque file. I just played it safe in my case
@@RealSpeed makes sense thank you for your help guys. i’m planning on just getting the stage 1 first and then tcu in the future so i will run the low torque for now
the hardest pull was a 70mph single pull, bro you need to step on. that Touring car you should have not spent that money if your going to just cruise it
Really well so far! Car is ultra quick, did some maintenance like coils and spark plugs and it’s been smooth. It’s been about 7k miles since all of that plus the tune and no CEL and just did my service last week and everything is in check! IE is one of the best companies in my opinion
For the love of god hold the thing open before you shift! lol 😂 so much short shifting, how are you gonna feel the power of you shift right when its starting to boost! You think it’s fast the way your driving it then hold the gear almost until redline for at least 3 gears like wot from 2nd to 4th and almost redline each gear. Then you can really see what it’s doing and truly feel the power it’s making. Short shifting like that right when it’s boosting then shifting before it’s at full boost is not letting you feel all the power you unlocked with stage 1 tune and dsg tune. Your videos are good, don’t get me wrong,I just wish you would hold it wide open until almost redline for at least 3 gears. Make another video doing that so I can really see a more appropriate reaction lol 😂
Not on FWD, maybe with really sticky, warm tires in perfect conditions, but it would be very difficult to do consistently. My buddy had a Stage 2 Golf R, DSG that could do 3.5 seconds, but he had to hit it just right. EQT tune
@@jmccann6735 For sure, I wonder if it’ll pull harder than an s3… I rode in my buddy’s 2019 s3 and it didn’t impress me at all. The stage 1 high torque will give me around 390 torque , so I can imagine it’ll be brutal. But yeah, there’s no way I won’t pull at least a 4.2 second .
Well yes according to rough numbers I am without a downpipe and a dyno. I’m probably really running around 305-315 on stage 1 high torque and modified with a dsg tune
Hmm not a bad idea actually haha I’ll make a video of it and get my reaction to the power I’m actually making 🤣🤣 watch it’s gonna say like 275 and I’m gonna be like whattttt no wayyyy
I had my mk7 gti with EQT Stage 1 93 and TVS dsg tune on the dyno and it made 295hp and 500nm at the wheels. That's around 320-325hp to crank with approximately 30hp transmission loss.@@mr.kseries7699
