This is one my favorite parts of the whole movie, and it's amazing how they let 3124 hitch a ride after he saved them from what would have been a disaster. It looks like once he started chasing the Daylight, he was trying to warn them that they had to stop because of the loaded fuel tankers in their path, but they ignored him, thinking he was just trying to make them late, and when 3124 realized they wouldn't listen, that's when he backed up the crossover so he could cross over and stop them.
To be frank, all engines are an "it". It was the crew members that referred to them as females. Goes way back with ships and cars too with men having "love affairs" with their machines. As for me, I just find it easier to refer to the engines as male, even though they technically don't have a gender.
That Mohawk is very helpful for saving that passenger train from crashing into those tanker cars. If it wasn't for him, there would've been a huge explosion and the passengers in that train would've been hurt real bad. Some of them would've been dead. And the diesels, pulling that passenger train were very kind to give the Mohawk a free trip. :)
Unstoppable has nothing on the tension that this video gives. I love how a steam engine made so much effort to save the diesel. The score slaps too, very hard.
I can’t believe it! Those diesels were willing to put lives in danger just to try and stop a steam locomotive from surviving!?!? Those sick bastards should be scrapped!

@@robertbalazslorincz8218 That's probably one of the reasons why The Daylight Consist helped them back to the yard, and the Mohawk was possibly repaired before U.P 836 Helped them back again.

Technically, Assuming that this is the Shasta Daylight (ASSUMINGLY running through Oregon/Northern California, Then this Consist would be incorrect, as there would be ALCo P.A Locos instead of the E7 Trio.
i say certain ones are female or male depending on what they do and what engine class like 4-6-2's are femlaes and 4-8-2 mountains are males for example
